Respond with random emojis and let her try to decrypt them. Itll keep her busy for a while. Kind of like a cat chasing a laser pointer.

Message text will need to be subpoena. And I would pay the money if it helped my case. But since I live in a no fault state, it won't.

I do. But they are not in the mindset as you guys. The mindset that I want to end up at.

I have filed already. Just about a month ago. Since I live in a no fault state, I don't think having the texts would do me any good. According to the link below (and a few others), showing that she had an affair would only play into it if it affected her ability as a parent. Now one could say that it's shows a lack of morals that may be taught but that would involve the kids finding out. https://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/can-sexting-have-any-effect-on-child-custody-in-a--1825899.html

The number 1 advice I've had was to not move out. Was told that by moving out it shows I abandoned the house and courts could award her the whole house.

I'll put it this way. 57 messages in the past 3 days isn't a chit chat about a tv show.

It would be hilarious if they were texting about a birthday gift. This marriage is over. And I have accepted that and attempting to moving on (poorly, I know).

I don't know the content of the texts. Just know her recent attitude of wanting to move out as soon as possible and her death grip of her phone whenever I am around. I swear it's her oxygen tank.

Update: So since this all started, I stood firm on 50/50 custody with no support. I wanted the house if she didn't (it's just an investment in my eyes right now with no emotional ties). And I wanted everything split 50/50. We both walk away with 1/2 of everything as it should be. We talked for a few hours late Monday night and her latest proposal is: 50/50 time with kids. She still wants every Sunday night when they have school. I've told her I will agree to this but will not put it in a parenti…

Thanks for the advice. As far as stopping the train, I'm not sure that will happen. I say that as she has her mind set on divorce. And if I'm being honest with myself, I think I am done too. I'm not holding on to hope that we might get together again. I need to find out who I am and what I really want out of a relationship and life. I lost myself in this marriage and used it as my identity for far too long. I was a married guy and did married things. That's not who I want to be. So here's to the…

Correct. And I am working on having a schedule that works that way, so in the end it is 50/50 in the year. But as I said, she wants that check.

AWALT I guess. Mine doesn't want the furniture or the older kid's beds. Just want some pan collection I gave her for our anniversary a few years back, the baby's crib, 1/2 of the kid's clothes/toys and a TV. She has her eyes on a fancy new apartment with new furniture and new car.

I want the house because they are building new houses all around me and my property value is increasing. So I am looking at it as an investment. Plus it will provide some type of stability for the kids instead of mom and dad both moving (I didn't come from a divorced family, so I have no knowledge if this will help or impact the kids at all). I can afford to keep the house if we split 50/50 since we make equal amount (I'm only 5k up annually) and I won't pay CS. If I don't keep the house and pay…

In my state, support does not increase based on additional parenting time (it theoretically can, but I've never seen it happen), it only goes down when a father has more time. That is, there's a guideline calculation, which is the baseline. If a father gets equal parenting time, a deviation may apply, decreasing the support amount by up to half (other deviation factors may apply as well). That's what I meant. My state has a 15/20/25% credit based on how many overnights the non-custodial parent h…

Fuck I wish you were in my state/county. I want to have shared custody (2-2-5-5 rotation). She is offering every other weekend and visits 2 nights a week. We have 3 kids (11, 6, 1). The 11 an 6 are involved in extracurriculars (unsure of schedules for upcoming year). She's mainly trying to limit my overnights because she wants highest support available to move into the best apartments in town. Now I do get quality over quantity, but if half my income is gone to support and 2/3 of the remaining i…

First I can't blame her. I need to get back to work on myself. It's the only change I can control. And as to the wisdom, I heard that before and was implementing it myself. My MAP was to work on myself for a year. Get all debts paid off. Put money aside for emergency fund. Put more money aside for a down payment. Re-evaluate where my life was. Ask myself if I want her to continue to be in life. If the answer was no, use the money set aside as my fuck you money. But I fell off the wagon and need …

Thanks. We had the visitation today. Only part where I almost broke down was watching my oldest daughter, 11 years old, breakdown as I held her close. Not saying that as I was acting macho or anything. Just think that either I am still in a fog, that over the past 3 years I've actually did a good job preparing myself for this outcome or dad prepped me to be the leader of the family and carry on the torch.

Being the old man here, my greatest fear is outliving my children. As a father my wish, my hearts desire is to do what your father did, and die before you. Our children did not make us, we made our children. My children will be sad that the man that raised them passed some day, but that is as it should be. Hell I am only 34 years old and that is already my greatest fear.

Lift like your relationship with your children depends on it Had to come back here and say thanks for this. 12 weeks into lifting 3 times a week (SL5x5) and this alone has gotten me into the gym and finishing sets.

This. Got massages (I could use one after all this lifting), tattoo artist (her and I both been wanting new ink lately), Japanese steakhouse reservations all lined up. All that she knows about and wants to do. But to surprise her I got a hotel room for us with a Jacuzzi to just relax in away from kids. Plus the spontaneous (even though it's not really) will give her the tingles. Probably stop by the adult bookstore on the way to the hotel with her to pick up some new hand/ankle binds (we've been…

Agree. Need to focus on my own shit before I try to dread. If I don't, then dread will be crystal clear window that it's bullshit.

Thanks for the immersion piece. I'll read up on it. I was disappointed, not angry. Stayed quiet as I didn't want to sound butthurt but my actions probably did show it. Need to work on that.

Didn't really send the "doggystyle" text as confirmation that sex was for certain that night. It was more trying to implement some game and getting her thinking about it and getting the juices flowing. Bad attempt, I know.

I know how to turn spooning into sex (started that way NYE and she was wetter than she has been for some time. Not sure why. Spent the night in with kids and no alcohol). It was the non-responsive actions that she didn't display (or at least the lack of what I thought she should do). Couple that with the still Nice Guy mentality and what [deleted] said about waiting for the green light...

I see the covert contract now. At the time I didn't and was poorly attempting dread. (Need to read up on it more.) You are correct. Still in my beta ways of wanting her to show she wants me by waiting for the green light. Validation of her thinking I'm the prize rather than knowing myself that I am the prize.

I didn't purposely blow her off. I was truly busy at work. But yes I could have taken 10 seconds to send a text back. I do need to work on my wording in texts and watch my sarcasm since it has came off as asshole-ish instead of cocky/flirtatious.
/r/askMRP06/01/17 06:36 PM

Correct. It wasn't the 10 minute waiting, it was sending the text.

We have 3 kids (11, 5 and 10months). Not wanting to flip their lives upside down and just call it quits is, right now, out of the picture. In the past 2 months I have taken the mindset of making myself happy first. If she wants to contribute/be involved with that, then great. If not, I'll get my exit strategy in place.
