Did I really just read that you’ve been sleeping on the couch for a year? In your own house? Why would you do that?

It was an audition. She decided you weren’t the right fit for the part.

I maintain a “bad day collection”. There’s only room on the shelf for ONE. Any time I THINK I’m having a bad day, I check the shelf and compare to see if it’s a contender. My current masterpiece has been sitting there gathering dust for 12 years, undefeated.

Live your life, until you can’t. Make multiple plans, amend them as needed, and act on them. Plan for your life tomorrow, a year from now, 5-10-20-50 years from now. Plan for your death in similar increments. Because any way you slice it, half of those plans will come into play. I was sure I was going to die at one point. I’ve now lived longer since than before. Live like you are dying is good advice. BELIEVING that you’re dying, though, leads you to dark places. This is a good place to adopt a …

I mean, unless you mean you banged both of them, in which case you can check “sisters” off your bucket list. And move on.

You hiding a time machine somewhere? If not, you can’t go back and change anything anyway. In the future, just pick one.

Are you angry about the sun being hot? Are you angry about the rain being wet? AWALT. It is what it is. You will never change it. You can only change YOU.

Maintain a professional rapport with her, even low-key friendly, and at some future point when one of you no longer works there, by all means shoot your shot. But don’t dip your pen in the company ink. Don’t even hover your pen over the company ink. Hell, the way things happen now in the MeToo, Believe All Women era, it’s best to just not bring your pen to work.

Yeah, that’s probably subtle enough. Just remember, if push comes to shove, it won’t mean a damn what YOU meant by anything, just how she says she PERCEIVES it.

This is the third date. It’s her own fault she didn’t participate in the second one. Time to extend the invitation for “Netflix and chill.” She’ll either accept or decline. Either way, you won’t be wasting any more time and effort.

I haven’t been there in 30 years, but I remember that Curundu, Chorillo and San Miguelito were the dangerous parts of Panama City. Pueblo Nuevo was indistinguishable from any American suburb.

Depends on where you are. Would you base your entire judgment of the US on the south side of Chicago?

We show different faces to different people, each of whom get used to seeing what they’ve always seen. And we’re used to showing them that. I found my former employer’s summer picnics awkward. Because I would simultaneously interact with bosses, peers, subordinates, family members and folks in related endeavors - all of whom usually saw ONE appropriate side of me, and no other.

It means you’re an asshole, too. It’s just that neither of you know it yet.

Even in the US, you can be compelled to testify as a witness against others, just not against yourself. If that’s all this is - you’re truly just a witness - you’re making this much more complicated than it needs to be. I mean, you can push it all the way to contempt of court, but why?

I’ve been on the other side of that. Honest mistakes and coincidences can be cleared up quickly with a little cooperation. But I get the sense that the OP’s situation is neither of those, so he should probably STFU. Might not help, but it probably won’t hurt.

This “NEVER talk to the police” stuff is sometimes counterproductive. Here’s why: it’s your best course of action ONLY if either you committed the crime but they can’t prove it, OR you didn’t AND commit NO other crimes. If they mistakenly suspect you of a crime, why would you NOT set the record straight? If they already have you dead to rights, why not come across as remorseful and cooperative for the judge’s benefit? Cops don’t decide sentences, judges do. If you refuse to cooperate in an inves…

I never dry my newer shirts. My old t-shirts, a size or two bigger than what I’m currently wearing (I lost a bunch of weight and fat), those I dry the hell out of. Still a little loose.

There’s a difference between “confidence” as an adopted attitude and confidence based upon years of experience at crushing goals. And there are other visible indicators of the products of those successes. Don’t forget the second half of that dual mating strategy. That’s where you simply cannot compete with the older men. It’s not just that you’re not in the same league, you’re not even playing the same game. You should have no trouble with 18-24 yo girls who just want fun. But at some point, the…

Because SMV is about more than physical appearance and attitude. You may rate yourself 8/10 based on those, but it isn’t YOUR assessment that matters. It’s theirs. No worries, though. It’s likely to improve as long as you keep working on it......and after you have your own place and earn your own keep, Baconator.

Sounds like the Mother Of All Shit Tests to me. Ignore what she SAYS, and look at what she’s DOING. Which is you. On the regular. Why doesn’t matter. You seriously should DGAF about anything but the results. Keep doing what you’re doing, and keep escalating, gradually. It’s clearly working.

I stopped going to bars when I was young due to frequent occurrences of sloppy drunk “biggest motherfucker in the place” syndrome. I was almost always the biggest motherfucker in the bar. Only way to truly win a bar fight is to not be there when it happens.

I found my way to this sub at the end of a chain of THREE others. Imagine how easy it would be to stumble across a link just ONE sub away. Say you've handed or emailed the same packet that HR has, and told, look into this. And then say you stumble across this sub, and this post. Whadayya think? Same guy? Did he do any of it? Did he LIE?
