And this is exactly what a boy would say. It's low risk and won't make her tingle

I've started a new thing if I'm going to text a girl to ask them out (I'd rather do it in person, especially if I'm going to see them soon but whatever works). I just ask them straight up, with their name in there: "Hey Stephanie, I'd like to go get drinks with you sometime soon. How does tomorrow work?" I try not to worry about the phrasing exactly, and just the sentiment. Although the words "I want" can be pretty powerful when directed at a girl.

OP mentions this and it's worth reiterating - confidence is fucking key here. If you say something like this as though you're a shy little kid asking for candy you will get blown out. You are telling this woman exactly what's in your head and (as OP mentioned) putting yourself out there to be rejected. 99% of the time the girl will be loving it, because you were just a fucking man. She had a inkling as to what you were thinking when she asked that question. And she probably thought you were just…

The replies in here are great, but the community response (down votes) is bullshit. The ideas being thrown out are for testing how serious she is about her SO, and gauging interest. I'm seeing this as a case of guys reading this and saying "what, no way! I could never say that, what if I'm coming on too strong? What if I get rejected?" These lines and more importantly the mindset behind what you say gets your intentions across perfectly. Bunch of white knights up in here

It's not just about the physical act of touching, although that certainly plays a significant part. It's about being comfortable touching and not feeling as though it's an odd thing to do. Getting comfortable with touch is confidence, and improving confidence is inner game.

If I remember right, the Phallic Cylinder one is where she's rubbing the stem of her wine glass, or whatever like she's giving it a rub and tug. I think it's a good indicator, but only within the context of a cluster of signals. When I've seen it with a girl that's into me, it's going down. That book is awesome though, great recommendation and good on OP for finding the summary.

Something I've caught myself doing in the past is hyping myself up over whether I'll be able to impress her. My realization was that I've already done that if she's going on a date with me. Also I was putting girls on a pedestal. I now try approach it as getting to know someone and see if they're worth spending more time with.

I had this freshman year (going to be a senior also dude, rock on). Everyone else's comments are spot on. I'd add don't take a dookie in the coed bathroom. Everybody poops... But sometimes it's a bumpy road

The ability to compromise is not a bad thing. Also, Brianimosity disagreeing with you doesn't mean he doesn't understand you

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
