I've always known there are motives behind the interactions of people. Maybe depression isn't the right word; it's more of a catharsis. It's amazing being able to read a layer deeper into each interaction. I consider myself intelligent, but it's a slap in the face when you realize you were ignorant of your ignorance.

For myself, I find that it helps to breakdown your work into individualized tasks. Don't focus on trying to remember the entirety of your old code; instead, apply yourself to what you immediately need to work on. If you can stop scaring yourself with the sheer volume of work you have and instead focus on smaller parts of it, the task at hand will seem much more manageable.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
