It could be her gay friend. Who knows. Just find out for yourself.

"Hey I like your [article of clothes]." / "Hey cool tat." / "Damn those are some bigass earings." / "Ew what are you drinking." / "Whoa check that [thing or incident] over there out." / "Hi. What's your name?" EDIT: One more: If you're near the alcohol table, talk about the alcohol. Everyone enjoys that. I save the "Hi. What's your name?" as the fallback. If it is a unique name, I follow up with "[Name]! What's the story behind that name?" conversation snowballs from there. Easy way to talk abou…

Think about this. People get tired after sitting for two hours staring at a screen, no matter how good the movie is. A lot of good dates don't go on longer than a few hours. You take a big risk that the girl has time commitments or is just too worn out to keep up the date (it might be her second or third "first date" that week"). The clock is winding down. Both parties are constantly evaluating whether the date is worth another hour or should be ended then and there. You didn't give her a reason…

I don't really see the problem with his approach. It does sound a bit oddly worded, but so does most advice when committed to pen and paper (e.g., the lines in Models, RSD, etc). But it shows low investment and that he is interested but just having a lark. I can imagine a really smug PUA saying this with a big shit-eating grin.

Was this a no-win situation? If not, how do I overcome the fact that she's clearly shot me down already? It felt to me like "no" means "no." But I want to make "no" mean "go ahead and try again."

Yah man. I'm picking up what you're throwing down. I figure that it is disrespectful to her to make a move after she's turned me down already. I think that's the thing. I didn't have a strategy for how to win here and that's a big part of the problem. I set myself up to be disappointed.

That was in the conclusion to the first FR too. I just didn't spell it out because of some complicated stuff that happened afterward involving my friends being annoying cockblocks.

This. The paradox and and inherent contradictions of relationships. The only way through is with high value and real emotional connection. Always give her reasons to want you badly.

Wrong attitude. You're still looking for short term gains. Anyway, I've figured that hitting on girls you already know has a much lower success rate than hitting on new girls you meet. Older acquaintances tend to have set opinions of your sexualness and attractiveness; girls also dont respond well when you change your frame from friend to suitor unless it comes about organically. And of course looks matter. Who the fuck told you they didn't? Everything matters. Your haircut matters; shoes matter…

What RandianHero says sounds right. Learning how to act and behave appropriately is just a part of socialization. But faking emotions is something else. When it comes down to building relationships, I conjecture that you will have to reveal your true self after a few dates. If you don't feel the same feelings other people do, then your partners should be clued into that. I imagine that you have a rough road ahead of you and will deal with more incompatibilities than most people; it's probably wh…

Believe in yourself. The things you choose to invite girls to WILL be fun; you know it. And regardless the date is more about the two of you than anything else; your company will make any date enjoyable for a girl.

So I should invite her out to a more traditional date then? Or would bars be fine? I definitely wouldn't mind dating her.

All my ex girlfriends had been asian women. But now I've been progressing on both the white and the Asian front. I'm still at second base or whatever (dunno how to count bases) but its progress. The key is to not care about race.

Thanks man. I was thinking the same thing. I'm a bit dissatisfied with the seddit mantra of Never call; don't text-game; text for logistics only. I'll definitely call Dallas. But should I also call Lauren or leave that to text?

You're not giving us much detail here to know what he is like. Guys can vary. I, myself, do not enjoy girls who are super forward -- I tend to auto reject them instinctively. What I look for is congruence between how much I've invested and how interested they become. If I've scarcely said more than one joke, then I expect the girl to still be in the curiously intrigued stage rather than the shut up and take my number stage. EDIT: To illustrate, a girl literally just added me on FB yesterday. I h…

Should be self explanatory. Adapt. The goal is communication, not competition. If the person you are talking to has trouble following along then you haven't demonstrated any linguistic skill. Know when to just talk and know when to woo her with words. But also think about if you'd be happy with a woman who speaks quite differently from you. (Sidenote: You sound like you might be an elevated version of theatre geek or the obnoxious guy who constantly does movie quotes and impressions.)

Can confirm. I can't dance for shit. Last night, I still ended up grinding on a hot (but not slutty) girl minutes after meeting her and then proceeded to make out. This was an almost completely dead night at the bar too. This was because I had a good time and didn't give a shit.

You are arguing to enforce the scarlet letter. You separate a class of women as forever-cheaters and proudly do so to justify getting laid. You ask for reasons to avoid being the homewrecker. How about this for a reason: give people the benefit of the doubt. People have slip ups and lapses in judgment; dont be the guy who strikes at the right time. Instead of encouraging and reinforcing a woman's act of reckless bad behavior, give each woman a chance to become the better person. Analogy. A drunk…

Don't get lost in the weeds, man. Sounds like either it was a fake boyfriend or she was cold shouldering her bf ( either cuz he's about to get dumped or cuz she didn't want you to notice the bf). No matter what it looks like things will be fine. You have the tools to handle this.

The kiss fakeout sounds hilarious; not different than what guys on this /r/ do to women. But the phone thing is annoying. Maybe its how you're describing it? Maybe she's nervous?

I wholeheartedly agree. I've nexted a few girls in the past half year that I am now regretting -- because I find out months later they are still incredibly receptive and positive towards me. But often you only have a small window before another guy finds her and chooses not to next her.

Don't get mad a girl for bailing this time just because other girls have bailed on you in the past. The excuse sounds more than plausible. Neither of you gain anything if you call her out on it. Girls get nervous about shit too; maybe she didn't like the idea of flaking or was on the fence about flaking all day so hadn't thought it through yet.

I didn't jump on this in time. But I look forward to the next time you give it out or maybe just a discount. $6.99 is a bit steap, especially given the seddit mantra of "Stop reading and get out there!" You must be doing something very right on your profile that you haven't mentioned. 100s of matches in a week is ridiculous. I've gone nuts swiping in three metropolitan areas over the past three months. Maybe a dozen real matches. And my front picture is a DSLR pic!

You're not giving us anything to work with. Regardless, this Q is better for /r/askseddit. You have the wrong attitude and you know it. You should be out to have fun regardless of outcome. Right now you are pursuing girls like you are applying for jobs. Instead just enjoy the chase. Do it because it amuses you, not because you're anxious to get something from somebody else.

I'm having a lot of trouble following you. What do you say after you open and a girl responds with just haha? And for the convo after the edit: did you just say out of the blue that you were coming over? Or was there more conversation first? Regardless, good work man.
/r/seduction26/02/14 05:20 AM

I've been using the same "Should we tell our children we met on Tinder?" line. But with little success. Most don't respond. Some give a haha or something and then go cold. I've had two continuing convos go cold. And only one successful convo that I lost interest in. What are you saying after the opener and they respond?

Yeah . . . Someone has stopped, thought about you, and decided that somehow you are a bad person. It's always tough to swallow something like that, in contrast to the usual irrational confrontations we usually see at the bars. It sounds like you are happy and fulfilled with your life choices. And it sounds like the people you meet enjoy their encounters with you. These complainers are getting their feelings hurt over something they witness; it has nothing to do with what you've done to them dire…

It's hard to blame a girl for being up front and giving fair warning. I had an ex overload me on the front end with way too much; I had another ex who gave me just the right amount of disclaimer about why her last relationship failed. A lot of girls know they have baggage; a lot of girls know they are "crazy." Some girls recognize and are dealing with their "crazy" -- that's definitely a positive trait. She wants to be sure you are on notice and that she doesn't get disappointed. So the million …

But how does one sort himself out? How does one take charge? Find that motivating energy to apply effort? Find passions? These are the questions of the seduction community. To get from point A to point B someone needs to tell you the first step, and sometimes the next step. I really dislike this type of comments, /u/Flexappeal, because it seems to demonstrate a lack of empathy for people who did not start out with the exact same set of tools as the commentor. Yeah, you are right that a lot of th…

It's hard to see what you're doing wrong because all we have to go on is that you find yourself unattractive. But that is somethine we can fix. It sounds like you are angry, maybe angry at others and angry at yourself. First, you are not unattractive. Get that straight. Admittedly you may not be the most handsome like Clooney or Pitt but you are not unattractive. Change your attitude. I used to get told I was ugly -- by a girl who eventually became my first gf in high school. She seriously meant…

It sounds like you are looking to grow and improve but you aren't enjoying the process. Although I agree that generally we should follow the exemplars on this forum and push to try new uncomfortable techniques and behaviors, I wouldn't agree with doing anything you find uninteresting. If it's not "you," you are going to run into some dissonance later -- ie girls are gonna feel like they've gotten the bait-n-switch. Pickup is supposed to be fun. There is value in uniqueness. Some people are fast …

abundance =/= uninterested. No one, guy or girl, would go on a date with someone not interested in them -- that's just incredibly un-fun.
/r/seduction16/12/13 03:36 AM

So you're sorta right back where you started. You stopped putting all attractive women on a pedastal. But now, you're putting the women who give you the time of day on a pedestal. A little attention and you're hooked again. This is still progress. But truth be told, one short conversation should get you interested, but unless you spend a whole date with a girl how would you know for sure she is commitment-worthy? (and even then, one date - that's a rare case)
/r/seduction16/12/13 03:29 AM

Agreed. Getting the number is a non-event. For me this was the easiest part of pickup to figure out. The work is in building the connection and setting up the date during the convo.

I agree that approaching on he last day is better than not approaching. But I disagree with some of your reasoning. Getting rejected is only awkward if you make it awkward. I've asked out several girls at my school, gotten turned down, and still spend time with them. Last week, I asked a girl out I had just met in the reading room, got turned down and proceeded to study for hours sitting across the table from her; we jabbered every now and then and we still talk in the halls.

Garbage man = $$ & secure union job & pension. Nothing wrong with that haha. By the way, college means nothing. Ambition, passion, and action plan are what matter. I've met plenty of non-college girls who I've been attracted to because of their passion. Not sure if this applies to you, but get rid of any sense of entitlement; girls are yours to earn. What is there to really talk to your friend about? "Hey, be less attractive." Tossing your friend two girls isn't that many, in the grand scheme of…

The town plaza is worlds different from an internet forum curated by moderators. But more importantly, even if you believe the ideas in these returnofkings posts are worth merit, please perhaps find better sources or articulate these thoughts in a more examined manner. Some users, like /u/lazyspy, agreed with the ultimate conclusion that "foreign women are better" but found insufferable the way that conclusion was presented.

No sales pitch. All the advice here and elsewhere is take-it-or-leave-it. (Note that I'm not angry. I just kinda wrote the following in a confrontational tone.) You're worried that by following advice you found on the internet you'll be doing some kind of act. Somehow "acting" is un-genuine. Well guess what? We, as people, are always acting. When you tell a story and pause for dramatic effect, that's acting. When you are giving a friend a hard time and you give them an exaggerated look, that's a…

Ouchhhh. Was he being funny or cruel? Looks like we're on a touchy subjects here. So I'll just zip my mouth now -- we should all use our best judgment. Edit: and when I think of drag queens I usually think of the showgirls who do it for fun, not the transgender ones.
/r/seduction11/12/13 12:16 AM
-6

I'd rather avoid that entirely; go even more absurd or in a different direction. Like "drag queen" would be funny because there's an incongruity in that they're not girls (or physically not girls) but you can still pretend they are. Or animals would be funny. When it comes to trannies, of course they count. Edit: it's about as funny as saying, "do ugly chicks count?"
/r/seduction10/12/13 11:13 PM
-11

That's offensive. "Trannies" are people; having sex with them counts as sex. If a girl said that on a date, I would be seriously cautious. There's not even a joke or an incongruity there to derive humor from. Maybe a joke about whether hookers count; that'd be funny.

How do I approach girls (on college campus) while they're walking (usually quickly), or when they're walking in groups, or while they're locking up their bikes (ie distracted and looking down). I'll pass them by while I'm walking from home to my grad school. Girls can whiz by in a flash; no more than a moment of exposure. But its super weird to stop and linger or divert my path til I can make eye contact. EDIT: I'm a grad student so I don't give a pho about my reputation among undergrads.

I'm still learning the ropes here and working on myself, but it sounds like you have the right idea. I usually do that too when talking to people at bars; respond to person A while looking at person B, for effect, OR teasing about person A to person B but loud enough so that person A hears the joke. Bam. Now I'm in. I'm a bit turned off by how you frame your technique as an I'm better than you type of thing. There's no need to assert dominance over other men or make them feel lesser. edited.

I like the graphs. It was both self-satirical and actually enlightening at the same time. I chuckled from the absurdity until I got three or four graphs down and it clicked. The takeaway is great: you want both parties in any interaction to feel like winners.

Deep conversations are something I'm working on too. That's why its so much easier for me to be a coach than a participant, so to speak. Deep conversations are explorations not explanations. Discuss with your partner/conversant WHY and HOW you have the opinions, goals and beliefs you do -- it's not about the WHAT.
/r/seduction01/12/13 10:53 AM
1

True. But there's nothing wrong with acting like the person you want to become. That is the very heart of what it means to aspire. No one will ever fault a significant other for working towards being a better, braver, stronger, more virtuous, more fulfilled self.
/r/seduction01/12/13 10:48 AM

Well no. These were long term relationships. I've seen and saved my friends from similar pitfalls. Girl gets antsy in the long committed relationship but "isn't sure why", and "needs space" or "misses being single". Guy steps up his game. They fall in love again.

I disagree in part. I've lost some girlfriends because I let my game slip and I've lost some girlfriends because I gamed too much and kept things surface level. Do neither of these. Now, because of my observations, I'm only so-so with pickup but pretty good at relationship counseling. Be yourself, have real deep intimate conversations, really let her in, but never ever lose that flirtatious charm. Oh and communicate.

I'm going to piggyback on this thread. I was recently confronted by two girls at a bar. I have a larger-than-average butt for a man. I was dressed well (business casual from casual Friday earlier at work). A hot girl (not sure how these HB ratings work) approached, said her friend liked my butt. I told her friend to come over. Girl#2 was much less attractive but tall with a black girl booty. I encouraged them to look with their hands, not their eyes. They grabbed mine, I grabbed theirs. Made som…
