You have so much time! And you can have the best of both worlds. Clearly now isn’t the time so give yourself the freedom to enjoy your career and marriage and check in once a year or so and see where you are at. You’ve got at least 10 years of healthy odds in your favor so no need to have it all figured out now. Either way you’ll make the right choice and have a fulfilling life. I will add, I’ve never heard someone say they regret having kids, but they do regret sometimes having them too young o…

I think it’s possible you live in a fantasy world in your mind and it doesn’t match reality. Aka you have expectations that relationships should look a certain way but they rarely live up to those. Try and just enjoy the moment with your dates and not project a future onto them. Take it one day at a time. It’s normal to get discouraged when you’ve been at it so long. Spend time giving yourself the things you want to offer to others. Spend some time doing to yourself what you want others to do. L…

I would say that the other person was projecting as well. I think your response is well intended but a bit miss-attuned.

Ooh! I love this question. I had many a male friend until I got married. Now, I typically only do things with my male friends as couples. The wives and husbands are usually included. On texts etc. Ofcourse I have some male friends that go way way back... mostly follow the rule above but not incredibly strict to the point where we have to include spouses on irrelevant topics but it’s understood that we aren’t the primary any more. This has worked very well for me and allowed me to keep up my male…

Totally! Well the same people who say their men do all the cooking also have issues. For example- one of the girls husbands who said that, plays video games all night and is a heavy drinker. He cooks dinner to overcompensate and to avoid Lecture. I’d much prefer my situation :)

Oh boy do I feel this post! It’s almost as if my friends take pleasure when I’m frumpy and my house is unkempt. They certainly jump at the opportunity to let me know “wow who are you trying to impress today?” If I put on jeans instead of sweats. I make dinner for my family every night and when I share this info with a group in conversation, without fail, I’ll get someone responding- “my husband does all the cooking in my house, I would never cook every night. He waits on me!” It doesn’t change w…

Exactly, altering someone else builds resentment. And people often go for the opposite and end up with similar problems in reverse. The point of my last comment is that we often judge and hate our ex for things we ourselves have done in some way shape or form in our lives. We will be triggered by them until we can see that. Once you can see it, the conversations are quite different, and the agenda is clear. (I think what I’m saying may sound too abstract for this sub so I’ll try and clarify anot…

I‘m a relationship coach and the best way to Vet is to get clear on your own priorities and highest values (not morals, those are different) so you know how you spend most of your time. This is important bc you may be wasting time on low priority actions or people who don’t align with you and then end up in the same position as you are now. Knowing what you stand for makes it easy to Vet men bc you just have to ask yourself if that person would fit into your lifestyle without you needing to chan…
