It sounds like she never really wanted to be a parent or "married with children". I'm glad you're happy. No need to be bitter, it is what it it. Live your best life.

Oh I'm not in the US. But even here those demands are ridiculous.

Gosh... At least they got scared of your lawyer. Mine keeps increasing the demand everytime I counteroffer. At this point I'm standing at over 65% of my income lol. That is what led to to getting the expensive lawyer.

I truly hope so. The demands are insane

I suppose it was worth it. I too just ditched my old and affordable lawyer to a more expensive one

A good reason to end it in my opinion. Lots of people live in denial of this.

You're a very lucky man.

Mine did the same, had a phone contract in my name but my stbx increased the limit to a ridiculous amount and called the service provider and pretended to be me to increase it. It took half a year to get it back... We separated on the first year of a 3 year contract. Also dragging the sale of the house and not paying a penny in utility bills or the bond. But I moved out of the house anyways.

It helped me find out all the things my stbx was holding a grudge on me for. For that I'm grateful.

How did you remove yourself from utilities? I still get the bills, they are in my name but I'm not paying. I also used to pay half the mortgage until I had to start paying my lawyer, used that same money to pay my lawyers.

Do it. You need to clear your head and find yourself again. Do it. Good luck

Well.... It depends on how close your room is to your parents and if your parents respect your boundaries

It's so much easier if you have no kids

Fear will only make you do stupid things. Don't be afraid. Be bold! Do it for the kids. Take charge of your life. Your kids are way too young to be "affected".

Yes... Even in my own country it's all up to judges.

If you add that dynamic to an already shaky marriage then yes it will probably be one of the factors. A woman wants a man she will be able to respect and look up to. Whenever there are problems and she constantly sees an uphill battle she starts thinking about how much peace she could have elsewhere or on her own. A woman making more money affords her the freedom and that's why they tend to stop fighting sooner for the union and just leave. So I do think there is a correlation.

Spending with a few of my single friends. All of us don't have family here so we decided to get together and make it fun.

There are a few reasons why this is normal but those reasons are buffling to me in 2023. 1. Men earn more. That's just the statistical truth. 2. Women tend to be SAHP and leaving the marriage mostly means they now cant find jobs because they have been off the market for too long or have no experience 3. Seen as the victim as they almost always end up with the kids. All these reasons are shocking, as in why do they exist in 2023. So anyway the issue is that the other party(mostly men) will always…

I'm not as betrayed as you but holy crap I wouldn't ever tell anyone to forgive infidelity. If you do forgive that will be on you and you can take as long as you need.

You need to remember that these are just feelings. Not facts. Cut her out if your heart. She doesn't deserve to live rent free there. Focus on you.

All the best. You have recognized and now you can only do better. Maybe you are just meant for someone else. Sometimes when you're with the wrong person it's almost impossible to change, but with the right person everything is much easier. That's what I believe. You are still young so it's good you know what you want now and you can be a better person for yourself.

She can't sell the house without you signing. You can agree verbally to sell but you can decide what you sign and what you don't. You are also entitled to half of absolutely everything and also alimony. (once house is sold you should get a small apartment for you and your daughter.) You ask for 5050 but be the primary care giver then you can also claim child support. You have all the advantage here

I've seen those numbers as well. She inflated all expenses to the lawyers but yes they probably all are on crack 😂

Any chance the court could approve a third party communication? We have tried text only, tried email only, tried calls only partaining to kids but seems everything is not really working. Is this pushing it? My therapist simply advised on no comms with this person as they inflate all my anxiety and my chronic health problems flare up.
