I’m saying that people reading what they say shouldn’t take it seriously (grain of salt). Meaning men shouldn’t feel downtrodden by them and women should think for themselves and not believe that’s how all men treat women (ie, shape your world view). I mention that they’re coming from a place of hurt to say that they want support, not a Socratic discussion, so there’s no point arguing with them. It keeps me in the loop of what other people think and believe. I enjoy reading their posts. I enjoy reading what incels have to say or femcels. Or what the fundamental Christians are saying these days, or the anarchists, etc, etc.

Even I (female) have to take a break from browsing TwoX. It’s not a sub with a diversity of women’s views and can get quite exhausting. Its users are a majority women who have been hurt by men in some way. You HAVE to take this into account because the women there are often looking for support or looking to vent. I find if I’m not responding in a supportive way (or in a dissenting way, I guess), arguments ensue. But you should take it all with a grain of salt and not let it shape your world view…

Yeah, true. Spending too much time on the internet doesn’t help at all since people don’t have a filter like they do in the real world. I try to encourage others not to pay attention to that toxicity, but I’ve seen it get the better of even the most level-headed people I know.

There’s a thing where certain guys use the word “female” in place of where you would normally hear “women” or “girls” used. Like, and this is a lame example, but, “here come the females” instead of “here come the girls”. It has the effect of depersonalising the person spoken about. However, that doesn’t mean EVERY use of the word “female” is depersonalising. Some women are just touchy about it.

Uh, there seems to be a lot of assumptions being thrown around that’s leading to bad thinking. The women are assuming OOP’s husband is controlling with money. That’s a possibility, but OOP hasn’t said this herself. She isn’t even concerned with issues with trying to “escape” (as the housewife put). OP assumes the women are suggesting she hides assets out of greed. Which is probably why he’s getting the downvotes.

No, just the second one does. The first says to save money to get on their feet. The housewife is saying to skim grocery money if they need help escaping, which is not really a terrible crime if even a crime. The second person is suggesting to hide cash in the form of an asset. THIS actually is a crime because their assets should be visible to be fairly divided. So OP is right and OP is wrong. Saving cash seems reasonable. Hiding assets, definitely not okay.

These comments are a bit confusing. The first person tells her to save money by the sounds of it. That sounds fine. The second person reckons he’ll get half her savings, so she should hide money with gift cards. This is stealing and makes no sense either. If they’re dividing everything in a divorce, she’ll have lots of money, and the amount you can hide in gift cards without being noticed will be pocket money by comparison. It’s because there is a societal expectation for men to be savvy at picking women up. There is no expectation for women to even approach men. But the main issue here is that people are bad at knowing how to behave around those with disabilities.
