Yeah, both my kids play Minecraft, and my son even has a YouTube channel devoted to playing it with his friends, along with the occasional other game.

Pathetic and frightening at the same time.

Exactly. There's a whiff of pussypass here.

Agreed. Not seeing the PussyPass here. At least not from that short article. Also, if the claim is true that the department called in an outside agency when it was found the accused was related to a police officer, I don't see a need for badcopnodoughnut either.

I'm much more concerned with: She added there were images of "animals being tortured in effect" and said it was of concern that Hickson remained "in denial" of her offending. Those are a couple of classic serial killer red flags.

I'm also loving the awesome article linked at the bottom of OP's article.

Totally agree. That's why I said if he wasn't lynched first. The uproar if a man did this would be tremendous. Woman does it and it barely makes the local newspaper.

I'd say it's a pass because of the short sentence. Switch the genders: male teacher has sex multiple times with 13-year-old female special needs student. Somehow I don't think he'd get 3 years; he'd be getting a lot more if he wasn't lynched first. Also a hell of a lot more media attention would be paid to the case. On the other hand, she will have to register as a sex offender after release, which hasn't happened in every case of a female rapist, so that's a bit more egalitarian.

I stopped reading a the Verge a few weeks ago when I decided that it had turned away from being a mildly interesting site about technology and was now far too invested in social issues, and particularly the current wave of feminist ideology. For example, most of their articles that bothered to cover #GamerGate were very heavily one-sided. This article is another example.

The Ouroboros that is modern feminism.

Yes, the comments are far more intelligent than the article; truly an internet miracle.

Yeah, I like his stuff that I've read as well. I find myself in an Orson Scott Card conundrum. Great books, flawed human writing them. Nevertheless, I'll recommend RedShirts. Fun book.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
