I have seen the face of evil.... and then I helped her clear out her garage. There are no guarantees in this world. Women do have the superior position legally, but what matters is character. I picked my wife largely based on character. The MRM is a highly individualist group in purpose, so ideally we should not be judging categorically as we are judged categorically. Some things I think are good to think about are: Is she materialistic? (might leave for financial reasons) Are her parents and or grandparents divorced? (i.e. does divorce seem normal to her) Does she belie… | /r/MensRights | 08/07/13 08:42 PM
I have seen the face of evil.... and then I helped her clear out her garage.Relationships and women can be good. My wife has supported me as I've tried multiple avenues toward career (lots of school) with no problem even when I've hit dead ends. We have one credit card and I manage it. (no debt) We discuss every financial decision and every major life decision. She is my partner and my best friend. (Been together 8 years married for 3) Heck, she even agrees with the MRM. I understand your attitude toward marriage, but there are good women out there and you can live toge… | /r/MensRights | 08/07/13 04:56 PM
Rapper Danny Brown received oral sex on stage during concert ‘without his consent’ "Everyone wants the option of blaming it on Danny, because people can't accept the fact that a white girl raped a blaThe perspective of someone who saw it happen. The fact she got so far makes a lot more sense in the context of him having girls touch his dick under his pants before. Fact he put hand on back of head and let her go on or 15 seconds plus is another thing to consider. | /r/MensRights | 04/05/13 04:56 PM
The fundamental flaw in reasoning with potential rapists...If that was what we all expected it could totally work. The problem is it is easy to imagine it killing the moment or probably more accurately cutting things off earlier than desired. (Also film never includes this) It makes me nervous if it were a legal standard. I mean tough enough to prove your innocence in a rape case, throw in enthusiastic consent as a legal standard and you're in trouble. I like the idea that if you aren't comfortable enough to talk to someone about what you are doing you … | /r/MensRights | 25/04/13 01:13 AM
The fundamental flaw in reasoning with potential rapists...Have an upvote. How we define rape is really what it boils down to and what is worthy of jail time? I think the idea of consent education is legit and a good answer, but "don't rape" as a campaign is almost as trivializing as "don't dress like a hussy." Everyone, not just men, needs to receive the same education and ideas regarding consent and sex. Societal norms should be elucidated so everyone is on the same page. | 7 | The fundamental flaw in reasoning with potential rapists...It is too bad people get hammered and stoned so much in these situations. I think a sober person can have trouble figuring out consent without being awkward, can I touch you here?, but when you are gone the thinking part just isn't there. Our social paradigm needs to change; we should start hooking up sober. Edit: I'm talking about both parties here. | /r/MensRights | 24/04/13 04:21 PM
Non Sequitur gets it about rightAbsolutely. Those are good points. I would be interested in reading a balanced study done by a group without an agenda on this. I would hope it is "fair" and more or less based on actual roles and not assumed ones. I read someone who calculated the cost of hiring someone for all the roles of a traditional housewife and determined that hiring someone would be cheaper considering the cost of divorce, but that is if you make enough money for that and it doesn't include the intangible benefit of a m… | /r/MensRights | 07/12/12 03:23 PM
Non Sequitur gets it about rightTis true tis true. Marriage is a big deal. Living together is a big deal. The problem is people change. Relationships change. Marriage and love have not historically mixed that is a recent idea, so to think of it as the biggest commitment of your life and one of the most potentially damaging as well as potentially rewarding is a more proper mindset. Commitment is more important than love or even happiness to preserve a marriage, not that they don't help. What would marriage mean for you if there… | /r/MensRights | 07/12/12 04:25 AM
Non Sequitur gets it about rightWomen get child custody in over 80% of cases. Men who are commonly the biggest earners generally owe the woman and the child the same lifestyle as they had when they were with him. This can be a huge sum. This commitment I believe lasts until she marries (if no children) or until the child is 18 or otherwise adopted. Obviously with law it varies. Sorry for lack of numbers. I used to have a book on this stuff, but gave it to a friend who was getting married. | /r/MensRights | 07/12/12 04:11 AM

Non Sequitur gets it about rightProbably women getting more in divorce court than men tend to. Child custody, money, and support tend to go to the woman. | /r/MensRights | 06/12/12 07:20 PM
Non Sequitur gets it about rightI've never understood why non-religious people get married. Even then, why not just have a church ceremony. | /r/MensRights | 06/12/12 07:18 PM
