It's human nature. Once a person has a lot invested in something, the hamster will work overtime. You even see it within so-called '"objective" science and research: Once a scientist/researcher has a lot invested in a certain hypothesis, they will start responding with emotion in the face of competing hypotheses. Generally, the limbic system is stronger than the neocortex.

If she's demanding you marry her in order for her to keep liking/wanting you, then she's already failed the behaviour standard you should set for any person you voluntarily allow into your life. You would never accept that sort of control scheme from your male friends, so you shouldn't accept it from your girlfriend either. If she can't get past that, then I say let her go.

Red Pill Rage is absolutely fine. It's a phase a lot of guys need to go through, and I don't think it's an issue that warrants concern trolling. If they can't vent on r/MGTOW, then where are they supposed to vent? Also, a lot of what people call "hate" is just guys pointing out the behaviour of women. This is important, cause guys need to know what they're dealing with if they're going to make informed decisions about how to live their lives. As for incels, I see a lot of guys on the MGTOW forum…

Thanks for the input! I'm not doubting she's into me, though perhaps not for the idealistic reasons I would like her to be (I need to cut that shit out). I don't think she was actually going to cheat either. That wasn't my concern. My concern was simply that she would manipulate me into giving her my time. I'm fine with being honest about needs, but I'm not fine with shit testing and manipulation. There's a fine line between the two, and sometimes it's hard to tell what's what. Yup. Anal only (k…

You're right. The only reason I'm resistant to see it as a shit test is that I don't want it to be, and that's a stupid mindset to have (I tend to do this to myself). So strike that bit, it was a shit test, no question about it.

I agree that it's probably not going to work, not long-term. And I do expect her to attempt further concessions on my part, which is probably when the relationship will go tits up (no more bargaining -> she leaves, or nags me into leaving). I fully expect that to happen at some point, which is why I want to cover all my bases, and make sure I'm legally and financially safe. And yes, I'm aware I have already made concessions. And although they may not have much practical impact on my life (like h…

I've never said a man needs to be around his children "24/7", or even implied that, so you're building a strawman there. But you do need to be a strong presence in their lives, and you can't be that by just sending money every month, and perhaps see them for vacations. You need to be there when they need discipline, you need to be there to do stuff with them, to teach them to have interests, to teach them to use their brains, their hands, their feet, to shape their identities. Children don't lea…

Having children with an overseas woman, and to keep that family overseas, is completely pointless though. The only thing that's going to come from that is that you will have children that grow up to be complete losers, because they never had a father present in their lives. They will grow up to have shitty values, no sense of concepts like 'honour', 'morals' or 'ethics', and they will be nothing but a liability to you. Nobody wins here.

It may have been a shit test, and I'll keep that in mind. But isn't it also possible that it may have been a genuine thing, given that this hasn't been a pattern in her behaviour (as far as I can tell)? I'd be very surprised if she expected me to buy her a ring. Probably I'd buy her one, and she'd buy me one. Or we'd just split the total. That rotten "give me stuff" sort of attitude isn't a part of her character. I agree. It's something I'm aware of. But her terms for this one particular thing i…

Those are good questions. I don't believe she's immune to those rules. I don't believe anyone is. So the only guarantee I expect is to be legally and financially safe when the inevitable happens, the relationship grows stale, and the time comes for someone to end it. I don't expect to be guaranteed "everlasting love" or anything of that nature. She'd be a moron if she wanted to guarantee that, and I'd be an even bigger moron for believing it. I can't guarantee her that either. Conditions change,…

I would say we as men do have a 'definite nature', yes. Naturally, we spend a lot of effort talking about the nature of women on here, since that's what most men need to be aware of, and more often than not aren't. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of introspection, as it is after all 50% of the full picture. I'd say that first and foremost we are 'thirsty' creatures, us men, and that this thirst penetrates our every thought, our every decision and our every achievement, even our ethics and m…

You're right, I should've made it clearer that I'm referring to "tax money". If we're talking about "the economy" as a whole, then female spending is probably a good thing. But I'm referring to what we put into the 'welfare system' so to speak, where men as a whole "pay taxes", while women as a whole "consume taxes".

Although you make a perfectly valid case for the institution of marriage (as a societal norm, not necessarily a choice you would make for yourself), I'm going to respectfully disagree. I think we have a tendency to think about marriage and family structures in terms of "either, or"; Either we have the "nuclear family", or we have "broken homes". I think there's a middle ground here, one that doesn't go against our human nature (which is so blatantly serial-monogamous), but at the same time creat…

But if you're not the one getting married, then you won't be the one paying spousal support either. So if you're MGTOW, spousal support works out well for you.

The biggest and most important shit tests of all are 'marriage' and 'cohabitation'. You can spot these by her wanting to get married or cohabitate, and you can shut them down by not getting married or cohabitate.

I'd rather do none of those things, but that's me. For others, marriage is a great thing. It's 100% voluntary (Western chauvinist disclaimer), and it's certainly not without its perks either. Tax breaks. Come to think of it, I've already been sponsoring these guys for a while. Give me my alimony!

You say "trad cuck", I say "person who harbours the kind of hope that quite frankly belongs in a Disney universe". Yours is just more to the point! But seriously though, my entire point is that marriage is in fact a "you" issue, only not in the negative way it's often portrayed. Alimony is your friend! Why? Because it's the alternative to bachelor taxes. Now, which scenario do you prefer: You paying bachelor taxes Other guys paying alimony Whilst.

Who cares? Whining is such an underrated activity anyways. Personally, I really enjoy having myself a good old whinge, and I enjoy listening to others having a moan as well. It has so many facets to it too. It could be that someone has spotted something that most haven't - 'the informative whinge'. Or it could be getting something of your chest - 'the therapeutic moan'. Or it could just be funny as hell - 'the humoristic whinge', which again can be intentional or unintentional. It really is the …

No marriage, no cohabitation. Simple as that. Once you consciously make that decision, the rest works itself out, the snowball is now rolling. Because you now have no other choice but to put yourself and your own needs first. And because you're not marrying or cohabiting, you don't have to negotiate anything either, or sugarcoat anything, which makes the process that much easier. How anyone would come to the conclusion not to marry or cohabitate is up to them. Personally I don't give two shits a…

"Most people would rather gossip about romance and celebrities. Their hobbies are consumerism and vacations" Most women are like that, but most men aren't. Men are only like that when there are women around, because we tend to adapt our topics of conversation to women, their emotions, their frame of mind, their general tendency towards butthurtedness (yes, we are a charitable bunch in that regard, us men). So if you feel like you never get to go into the the nitty gritty of life and mind with an…

In my experience, people who say stuff like that ("people aren't genuine", "people only pretend to be friends") are actually the ones pretending, and being disingenuous. They are the ones that want to gain something, like your time and attention, and as such they are high maintenance energy thieves. I don't have many I consider "friends", but the ones I have have one thing in common: They expect nothing of me. If I wanted high maintenance, expectations and guilt tripping, I might as well get mar…

I suppose it boils down to looks, as opposed to other reasons for high/low SMV: Good looks + high SMV (minus looks) = low chance of getting meeto'ed. Good looks + low SMV (minus looks) = no chance of getting meeto'ed. Bad looks + low SMV (minus looks) = medium chance of getting meeto'ed Bad looks + high SMV (minus looks) = DANGER, DANGER, DANGER

Yup. Can't blame someone for what's in their nature, and honest introspection should be applauded. The question remains though: To what degree would she act on her irrationality, even though she recognized it as irrational? It all looks fine and dandy and understandable when she spells it out like that, but I'm suspecting her husband still has to deal with her bullishit in everyday life, little stabs and jabs and hints here and there.

Isn't it the other way around? The lower his SMV, the more cautious he needs to be? High SMV = 'flirting'. Low SMV = 'sexual harassment'.

If you truly love and respect a person, then you should make it as uncomplicated as possible for that person to leave you if and when they so wish. Marriage is the complete opposite of that: It's designed to make it harder to leave - a mechanism of control - and as such marriage is in its nature the very opposite of love and respect.

Don't underestimate the importance of having friends. Doesn't have to be many (quality before quantity and all that), and you don't have to see them often, but having some sort of 'network' is necessary for mental health. As you grow older, making friends will only get harder, so do it now.

Being more or less red pilled (without necessarily calling it that) is fairly common. It's the sort of thing life will teach you anyways, though some are slow learners. As for MGTOW, again there are plenty of guys who reject marriage/cohabitation/kids without necessarily calling it that, people who learned the hard way, or watched others learn the hard way. But as a 'philosophy', it's never going to be a big thing, with one of the central tenets (no kids) spelling death to humankind. And all tha…

Marriage should be demonized as well. It's an outdated anti-human institution, and an exercise in lack of openness and honesty. It should have no place between mutually respecting adults.

I think that is trying to intellectualise something that is largely subconscious. It's like hip-to-waist ratio in male selection: You didn't actively chose to go for that, it just sort of got your tingles going. The truth is, as far as I'm concerned, that neither men not women are realistic about marriage. Human beings are generally not realistic about the fact that we are serial monogamous creatures. If we were realistic, we wouldn't get married in the first place, not in this day and age.

Agreed. Managing expectations from the very beginning is important. Would also like to add that it's equally important to manage one's own expectations. At some point, at least one of the parties will likely want to move on to newer and better things, which means the relationship by then has outplayed its role. Don't expect her to work for it, and don't expect that of yourself either. Once it becomes work, it should end. And whoever gets to that point first, should be allowed to end it without a…

Nah, I don't really know what I'm doing. Should get a vasectomy, for starters. But thanks for the well wishes! I'm familiar with red pill rage, as I think most here are. Went through that phase, and still have moments of it, typically when reading too much stupid shit of the internet (Instagram/Facebook/tinder posts making their way to Reddit, and that sort of thing). She has her place, I have mine, so she's not going to 'trap' me under the threat of homelessness were she ever to make up some shit to the police (which has happened to me before - got a two months restraining/homelessness order). There's a strong individualistic element to "Going Your Own Way", so it should come as no surprise that it will attract people with individualistic political leanings (i.e. "right wingers"). MGTOW certainly isn't a collectivistic philosophy.

"Better than any foreigner I've met" = not well enough That basically means you can get around in shops, but don't know the language well enough to offer much socially. It's like you were living in America, and spoke like this: "Hello! Yes, I from Czech Republic. I make you joke, listen: Please take my wife! Haha, you like my joke, yes??" Obviously, people are going to leave you the fuck alone.

Definitely overthinking, yes. There's no need to take things so far as to bring unhappiness upon yourself. Maintaining a healthy distance? Sure. Actively avoiding people to the point where it becomes weird? Nah.

Communicating with friends doesn't have to depend on social media though. After I got off (non anonymous) social media, my friends started sending me text messages in stead, which is way better, cause I actually check those. And for group chats, which sometimes can be practical, you can use Facebook Messenger without having a Facebook profile. That way you get none of the virtue signalling circle jerking that just makes you want to throw up. Another positive is that every time you're in a short …

Masculine and feminine usually goes together only for a while. That's the natural state of affairs, and that's why marriage exists, to enforce something more, both on oneself, and from the outside. You don't have to choose between a biological blame game, or a political blame game. It just is what it is, it's the human hive mind at work. Birthrates in modern technological societies are plummeting, and with good reason: we won't need 'more people', if anything we'll need 'less people'. So we dest…

"Mgtow is a man who refuses to enter into formalized relationships with women. (Marriage, common law, cohabitation) because the legal ramifications of doing so are stacked against him." Human nature is my main reason for avoiding marriage and cohabitation. I view human beings (both men and women) as serial monogamous and hypergamous by nature, and it's not in my interest so view relationships as anything but temporary. Formalizing relationships thus involves making empty promises - which is immo…
