Phrases like "society is busy doing x" are quite strange to me. As if the people making these posts are not part of society, or something? Academia that concerns itself with women's issues is not part of society? What is society such that it doesn't care about women's issues?

Feminism seems incoherent and contradictory because there are multiple approaches to it. A liberal feminist won't agree with a marxist feminist, for example. As such it is probably unreasonable to say that there is a 'mere feminism' in a proper sense This is verging on goomba fallacy, I think

Has been so for quite some time, in truth, especially in sit-coms - thinking of the Simpsons. I'm not really sure where this idea of men being shown more positively than women (a cornerstone of patriarchal culture) actually comes from, in the main. Sure, we can find some examples, but it is hardly the norm. Adverts also contain many examples

It does actually raise the question: if fascism occurs because (according to centrist/liberals) insecure men exist, then how does your system remedy this? Enforcing the very standard of insecurity surely just creates more fascists by that logic, because why would they be insecure if it wasn't something bad (I.e. an insult) and if they feel justifiably insecure then they must join that side?

She seems like an incredibly insufferable person. Edit: it is basically true that women are the primary enforces of masculinity. Look at them mock the idea of a man being short, of having a smaller penis (insecurities caused by cultural masculinity). Women are absolutely the drivers of this insecurity, and any pretense to the opposite is ridiculous at this point Progressive women can't both argue in favour of feminism and then mock men for being (in their eyes) insufficiently masculine.

I have honestly seen people attempt to make the claim that the Greens are a 'post-woke' left party (however interpreted). Let's be honest, it is just more of the same nonsense, but they also talk about post-Keynesian/mmt economics sometimes

I think the difference is that the right present a misandry that is positive on a surface level. "It is an honour to die for one's country", "it is good to be a provider" etc. Things which still reduce men to mechanical beings that only serve But right-nat groups absolutely engage in a misandry against BAME men, so there is that

There is a lot of focus on lies around "boats full of women and children" from the 'left' (which is largely a falsehood) and "boats full of fighting age males" from the 'right'. It is strange to see the relatively RW impulse to 'crime rate post' replicated on the left (so long as it is convenient to do so). I think the problem is, regardless of the veracity of the statistics, that the question remains: what do we do with this information? Is crime an individual failing, a social failing, a genetic failing? It does seem to betray cognitive biases, yes. I've noticed this with critique regarding 'victim narratives' of men (which seems rather ironic). I do, though, think that the desire for positive role models can be a bit overblown. Maybe what i really want is for other people to be a bit better, so perhaps it is for them to have better role models? I'm not sure, I suppose it comes from a similar place as other people here, that role models are a bit contrived, socially. Interesting to ponder

Far from specific traits, my experience has been that the term "real man" is more about policing behaviour in line with one's own desires. Ultimately there is no true amalgamated idea, and it can be defined as the opposite of itself.

I can certainly sympathise, having been told (directly and indirectly) that men shouldn't have an opinion on the issue. That said, there is probably some distinction to be made between respectfully disengaging from an issue and making demands for reciprocity. The former seems more likely to create a positive, and well centred movement
