Thank fuck for people stupid enough to be blunt and straightforward about this shit. Dodged a couple of bullets off that shit.

Hey now I’m sure we can come to a fair custody agreement that leaves both sides happy. How about one day every other year?

Sorry to burst your bubble but that’s flat out incorrect. TROs will not prevent the court dates from occurring because the husband has a legitimate legal reason to be in court. It would apply while they are outside the courthouse but when there’s a limited number of entrances to a building that both parties need to be in there is some leniency in the enforcement of a TRO. For instance, joe can’t control the fact that there’s only one parking garage and just one door for him to get in, so as long…

I guarantee if that were the case then any half competent lawyer or even most of the armchair lawyers here on reddit could come up with a compelling argument to get her accusations thrown out unless she could provide some solid evidence of abuse. I can hear it now, something like “your honor firm xyz offers this class with the express purpose of teaching women how to accuse their spouse of abuse to win their case, as mrs. ? Is represented by this firm it is reasonable to assume that her accusati…

When you refuse to discuss the aspects of things that you don’t necessarily agree with you do yourself a disservice. Parental alienation is a terrible thing but when you ignore the fact that people use accusations of it (much in the same way one would use an accusation of abuse) to discredit someone’s testimony you let it become a common occurrence. If all you want to do is complain about how awful it is and ignore the other aspects of it then it’s never going to get the attention needed to beco…

What exactly am I assuming? That parental alienation is a tactic that tons of narcissistic parents use in court to try and discredit the arguments of their spouses, or that they use it to discredit the testimony of their kid who sits up on the witness stand and testifies about the abuse they suffered. Just wanted to point out the other side of this.

No, I’m pointing out that crying parental alienation is a favorite tactic of a lot of abusers. I don’t deny that it does happen sometimes but people cry wolf about it just as much if not more.

It’s not always alienation. Sometimes, when you treat a kid like shit or do fucked up things in front of them they just don’t want anything to do with you and it’s easier to cry alienation than it is to admit that what you did is wrong. Edit: this is literally my personal experience. My dad threatened to kill me and my mom. He was abusive for years and when she finally divorced him he started crying alienation to the courts, saying that it was her fault that I remembered all those things or that…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
