| 4 | Campus rapist given lenient sentence to avoid "severe impact on him". I think it's important that we every once and a while recognize the scum and bullshit coming from the other side.I can understand the outrage, but I don't know that the sentence is necessarily wrong either. The judge deemed him not to be an ongoing threat to the community and he remains on the sex offenders list for life regardless. The judge was evidently convinced that he was also severely intoxicated and wouldn't be liable to re-offend. | 1 | Saw this in the men's room at my local pub.This is one issue where I'm not really onboard with there being a gendered bias present. Things I've read in the past have indicated that this is attributable to breast cancer affecting people when they're much younger and-at least historically-having a significantly lower five-year survival rate (so more lost YEARS of life).
