No I got you. Was just a comment about me personally, sorry for the inconvenience of responding 🙄.

Yeah I’m just not that type of person I guess. Other people’s struggles just make me empathetic. I’d never find comfort over someone else having it worse.

Ignore it. If you say or do anything they will know the kid told you. The kid will then be the focus of the new guy’s “frustrations” and mom won’t care. Plus your kid will see how you handle it. Keep on keeping on. Stay strong.

Some men just can’t get over norms changing. They think men who stay at home, for whatever reason, aren’t real men. They have let themselves be brainwashed into believing the only quality they bring to the table is hard work and money. It’s prevalent in our society. You even see disabled men and veterans treated like they aren’t worth crap simply bc they aren’t the sole income. It’s just men trashing other men for not being good enough or matching their standards of manhood. Then they wonder why…

Why would that give me comfort? Thanks for the effort I guess but knowing others are hurting doesn’t make me feel any better. There’s no comfort in knowing that. I appreciate the sentiment behind the comment though.

Go complain in those subs then, don’t bring it up here.

Cool story. Just keep it off this sub. It’s the only reason it’s tolerable here still. I don’t care what other areas of Reddit are like. I don’t care if you’re American or not. Just keep the political BS off this sub.

Don’t…just don’t with the political crap. That’s one of the only reasons this place is still decent. Don’t bring it here.

I’ve just been a lurker so far. I’m not quite ready to put my story out there, though I see many men with the same issues. This community seems to be very supportive, very informative, and everything that most of us need during these hard times. Sometimes it fills me with dread thinking about what I’m going to lose in the future, but the guys here always make me feel like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Anyways, best of luck to you in your future travels my friend.

You just slowly go crazy. That’s what happens. Get out and find you someone who wants to enjoy your time. The relationship you’re in is a dead one.

I found another thing that helps me sleep is a combo of melatonin, valerian root, some magnesium, and some tart cherry juice or some type of sleepytime tea. Def no tv before bed. I also second the idea of getting a noise machine or headphones to help at night if your brain starts to wander. You could also speak to a doctor about it and they’d prescribe something for you. Of course it’s up to you to determine which is riskier, taking the medications that can have adverse issues or using a plant t…

It’s crazy that we are out here worried about doing legal things like delta 8/cbn (farm bill stuff) to maintain our sanity bc somehow using a legal substance will hurt us in court proceeding. If your job or whomever drug tests you, it’ll pop as marijuana though. And usually delta 8 stays in your system longer, but the evidence could be anecdotal. Even full spectrum CBD (which is the only CBD worth it) will pop up. Still, we shouldn’t have to worry if it isn’t illegal. Just another way we get fuc…

Never again. My dad warned me, I didn’t listen. Never again. I’ll never let someone own a part of my life like that again.

I can’t express how badly I needed to read this. Thank you. Honestly, thank you that really does help. My brain is just so jumbled now.

You don’t need to make it to the end of your life, just make it to the end of today. Then get up and do that tomorrow. Then the next day. And the next. Eventually that pain will start to become distant. You’re 38. You’re young. She wasn’t one in a million, she was one of a million. There is another woman out there waiting for the love she doesn’t want. Someone who’s gonna love you and your kids the way she should have. You will make it through this. You will find happiness and peace once again. …

I can’t agree with you more. It’s ridiculous how happy everyone seems to be about her wrecking our family, stealing the future we planned together, putting my kid through the same type of crap we dealt with at home…etc. Everyone just seems happy there’s a new member of the LGBTQ community, while I’m looked at as a joke of a man. I’ve done nothing wrong, I did all the “right stuff”. None of it mattered in the end, and somehow to the people around me…that’s just wonderful and she’s so brave. Yeah …

I understand where you’re coming from, however this is not that type of situation. Thank you for your kind words though, I greatly appreciate it. Just doesn’t fit with my situation. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Yeah we are good as we are able to be. Just sucks seeing my son start to turn on his mom bc of decisions she’s made throughout this process. It is showing my son how little society cares about men as well. Him and I are in therapy, she of course doesn’t think she needs any.

It’s even worse if your spouse comes out as a member of the LGBTQ community. Like I can’t even act a little angry or upset. My marriage is over but everyone is talking about how brave she was, how sorry they were she had to live in the closet. Not a fucking one person has wondered if my son and I are ok through this. We are expected to just understand and move forward with everything in our lives being a lie now.

Right?!?! Gonna start saving for a small boat for my boy and I. I’m thankful to her for giving me him at least. That’s pretty much it though. Had all these plans, all these future visions of my life…all in the crapper now. Time to make new dreams and goals.

I’m right there with you. Wife came out as gay after years of issues. Now she wants to act like everything is fine, meanwhile my son and I are both in therapy to deal with her walking out on us. I’m disabled now after destroying my body working to provide a home for her and my son. Now she’s going to skip out with some random chick, leaving my son and I here to deal with figuring out how to piece our lives back together. She’s all smiles. Told me I’m still her best friend and husband even if she…
