And there have been some who also add "Curiosity" between Depression and Acceptance. Other belief systems come into play. IIRC, the Kubler-Ross model does not actually specify an order, or even that everyone will go through those stages. EDIT: Ah, here we are: Kübler-Ross noted later in life that the stages are not a linear and predictable progression and that she regretted writing them in a way that was misunderstood.[2] Rather, these are a collation of five common experiences for the bereaved …

I've never understood the purpose of casting as wide a net as possible on dating sites (as an aside, the whole fishing metaphor for dating always seemed kind of... wrong to me). I'm trying to find exactly one person. If I don't find anyone that's fine, but if I find the wrong person that's very bad. So, naturally, I should try make the pool as small as possible.

Ethos, pathos and logos win arguments, not logos alone.

Do not commit suicide next Christmas either. Ideally, do not commit suicide ever. Or anything ending in "icide". Except maybe pesticide.

I stopped posting because I kept getting downvoted for saying it was physically impossible (specifically, it's a violation of conservation of mass/energy) to gain weight (mass) if your calories (energy) expended is more than your calories consumed.

OkCupid's blog had an entry about why you should never pay for a dating sites (IIRC, the gist was that pay sites make money by not having matches occur), but it was taken down when Match.com bought them. There was a google cache of it, but it's disappeared too. EDIT: Ah, wayback machine has it: http://web.archive.org/web/20100524180659/http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/2010/04/07/why-you-should-never-pay-for-online-dating/

Technically, wasn't chivalry about keeping guys with large swords and expensive armor who were trained in the art of killing people from doing stupid frat boy shit? Like killing the peasants who made the things that the king used to pay the guys with swords?

career advancement--by age 30, you'll just barely be breaking upper management--can you really afford to take off half a year to have a child, then only be able to come back at 50-70% of your original workspeed? I don't want to work in upper management. time restrictions on finding a good partner--college may be for fun and career advancement good for getting a car, but those eggs have a shelf life. If you don't settle down soon, you might not be able to conceive! So adopt. social restrictions o…

On a related note, I own a car and use it on a regular basis, but I am in no way qualified to be an auto mechanic.

Pease don't: Downvote opinions just because you disagree with them. The down arrow is for comments that add nothing to the discussion. It's the fifth one on the list guys.
