Assuming that men are the minority on campus I might note that this could be considered a micro-aggression against an under-represented group, although this might not be appropriate if male students are not formally recognized as such. I might consider talking with her during office hours to discuss your lack of comfort with such an over-generalization or register a formal complaint,,,' Or do what most people do and stay quiet for fear of a lower grade

I knew both of them--not well, but my wife, I, and kid were in their home. We even went out to dinner with them about 20 years ago. She was my wife's former boss and he was her teacher. We would have had no idea at the time. They both seemed to be such good people, and for him to be shot like that was a shock to us both.

An argument such as "this law does not concern you because you will not be affected by it" is logically fallacious and is simply an attempt to control who gets to participate in a public policy discussion. It is exclusion by individual or small group fiat, usually because they believe they are privileged, exclusively informed in some way, or feel threatened by open discourse. My view? Should women be summarily excused from discussions about male circumcision? About selective service registration…
