I read the legaladvice and TheRedPill subreddits. No, it's not enforceable. If you post at asktrp, you will be told to not get married because you'd lose the power to leave freely. So... same answer no matter who you ask.

The point is there exists a benefit to marriage. I often hear "Don't get married! She can take half your money and there's no upside!" That is not correct. There is an upside. My intent was basically to say that marriage is 95% bad financially instead of 100% bad. For the strategy, use the extra money to benefit you. Buy some weights. Go on trips to get some good experiences. Save some money so if you lose your job your wife won't call you a broke loser and leave you.

I have four exemptions on form 1040. I think you're asking about the W-4 withholding form. I claim six allowances and get about $3000 back. You and I can probably both claim two more and still get refunds. The IRS has a calculator here: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/IRS-Withholding-Calculator

I know. I chose to have a family over having more money. We actually have a little car and a midsize sedan now. My wife does say she wants a minivan or SUV all the time. I have always wanted kids. At least she takes care of those kids I wanted. Child care for twins can be $3000/month. Yes, that's called "opportunity cost". I would've had child support without marriage. You're right about the alimony, but I can't change that now. I got married before I found TRP. I never said that anyone should get married for money. The tax advantage is just a reason to be less unhappy about marriage.
