Kinda sucks I got into djing at the same time as literally every other guy my age. The good news is the bar for talent is crazy low right now, all you need is a connection to get a gig.

It’s supposed to be tongue in cheek satirical humor a la 4chan, but the nature of most inc*l spaces means they end up treating it as normal language and taking things very seriously due to no moderation.

Doesn’t seem to happen much. Usually they’re at least purple or pill-sympathetic. Most bluepillers are just as dogmatic as the redpillers they crusade against. Really the biggest defenders of woman-kind here are the blue/“no”-pilled dudes. Not women themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 07:15 PM

It’s an educated guess based on the culture I’ve witnessed. The type of woman to post on a subreddit like that is very likely to have a certain set of beliefs. Like I said, it’s not just the fact that they are women over 30. It’s the fact that they post there, out of all places. It’s not hard to find man hating comments on virtually every question there, in fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 07:03 PM
3

It’s not because she’s a woman over 30. It’s because she found and participates in an online board specifically for women over 30. It’s like going to a sub for male mental health and not expecting rants about women.

It doesn’t really feel special unless you care about the woman, it’s just that not being selected carries a harsher social penalty so men are focused on that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 01:15 AM

I think “taller than me” is a pretty accepted and uncontroversial standard. Most men, even across racial lines are taller than most women, so it’s far from unreasonable to expect. What do seem to be getting louder are the voices saying they want very large height differences, short and tall women fighting over the tallest men, calling average “short”, etc.

I was referred to a PT by a walk in ortho, so I’ll probably have to start actually going soon. Drugs have had varying degrees of success, but I wouldn’t call my situation bad yet. I guess I’ve reached the point where just “winging it” with my health is not gonna cut it anymore lol
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 01:04 AM

I think it’s always been there, but social media really drove things crazy as of late. I’m 5’8, which is pretty middle of the road, but there have been plenty of times in dating (online and off) where I’ve been rejected over my height. It’s not nearly as catastrophic as some guys make it out to be and I still have success, but it’s not really something we can ignore, especially guys that are even shorter than average.

How’d you deal with it? I tried to rest it off for a few weeks but it seemed to have made it worse compared to exercise

It’s all over the place. Seems to be fairly common for the demographic (NYC, mostly Asian and white) to continue partying into their 30s.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 12:52 AM

I find it hard to believe, but it could be a demographic difference. I’m 25 and I know many women that are loud and proud about it.

It’s online dating, you’re already in the wrong place if you don’t want superficial girls. Until I see evidence pointing to the contrary, no woman would reject a 5’9 guy in favor of 5’8. All upside, no downside, and it’s a small enough fib to deny culpability. I’m 5’8.5”, why would I ever put 5’8 when my drivers license says 5’9 lol

Crazy how I became one of these at home NEET in the span of like 6 weeks. It’s such an uphill climb getting out of the pit, I don’t know why these outlets make it seem like it’s always a choice these men make out of spite or whatever

Honestly yeah, looks like pretty common “high income millennial” couple you’d find in a city
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 10:46 PM

So this dude I was gonna sublet from wants to move deeper into the city for a larger apartment. It’d be like 40 minutes more to get into downtown proper. There would still be room for me, but now I’m much less interested. How do I convince him to stay in his current small apartment when it’s clear I want it more than him? Any advanced gaslighting techniques?

Why the hell not? It’s a big confidence boost knowing she still thinks about me, especially after I ended things with my last girl. Sounds stupid since I was the one who broke it off, but reassurance that I’m still in this game is really hopeful.

I messaged a fling from a year ago and actually got a response! Everyone spam W in chat 🙌 Maybe we can even link up when we’re on the same side of the world again. Might only be a year or two.

Honestly that’s the thing that you should prioritize here. If you really are strapped for cash, the last thing you need is woman that you feel like you need to pay to keep around. Just go, be ready to pay, but pay close attention to how she reacts. If she genuinely offers to pay for drinks, or for something else, etc. At worst you’ll be out the price of a drink or two, but if you see red flags you can cut your losses there.

I mean, of course they don’t, but there are some patterns worth discussing. It’s just such a personal and emotionally charged topic that people struggle to discuss it honestly.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/24 08:30 PM
1

I agree, most of the threads are pretty half baked. Most have a clear agenda too, “why do men like x more than y” or “women all like x”. Usually with very little actual discussion in the replies. r/ trm is good but it sort of inevitably attracted women that knew they would get higher ratings, so a lot of them look the same (those posts get the most upvotes too). Maybe I’m just salty because a lot of the women on there that are my taste get rated around 5 or 6. They also seem to rate certain race…

Sunday scaries is what it’s called. As a guy on the other side (recently laid off), you’ll miss it. That anxiety is basically spread out across every second of every day when you’re unemployed.

r/ trueratemediscussions is more of a battleground than PPD these days. Imagine if the looks thread was the point of the sub, the gender ratio was closer to 50:50, and everyone was under the age of 30. That’s what that sub is like right now. Because the ratio is so even I think it has a chance of surviving for a while too.

The fact that couples like this only exist among Gen Z is actually pretty damning when you think about it. Standards are not purely biological, nor are they unchangeable.

I thought the point of these lists was that they were “ideals” and not baseline standards. I’ve been with very few girls who check off most of my list and still been very happy and attracted to them.

They used the “gender-blind” terminology that I did earlier, usually in relation to bisexuality which is “gender-focused”. I think it’s interesting to hear someone define it differently. Appreciate your insight tho, I grew up in a pretty LGBT friendly town so I’ve always tried to understand.

105lbs? Sounds a little low for you dude, even at 5’
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/24 04:16 AM

I got it, so for you feminine is the preferred subset of everyone (pan), but feminine =/= woman in the exact same way it does for a straight dude like me. Just trying to understand better. I’ve known pan people who defined it in vastly different ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/24 04:10 AM

This is very reasonable since “meme queen”, “alternative”, “high libido”, and “likes midwestern emo” are all basically redundant

Fair enough, a man should know what he likes. I’m curious though, if you don’t mind, how does preferring femininity work out if you’re pansexual? I thought that was kind of a “gender-blind” sorta deal. Is it a behavior thing, or visual?

Game can be shown for a couple minutes at a time. Personality is who you are around people the rest of the time. Character is who you are when no one is paying attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/24 01:40 AM
1

Acquiring, obviously game is going to be the best. Maintaining would be personality. Maintaining a good relationship with a respectable person takes character. It’s why I go on and on about integrity as an important trait I want in a relationship. It doesn’t benefit me to have integrity as part of my character unless my partner also has it.

Inc*l “hives” like .is are ironically the worst possible thing for inc*ls. Their complete inability to moderate and sanitize their largest hubs means that those types of content will be what everyone thinks of when they hear the term. I really don’t know if guys posting stuff like that care. It’s the dudes that are “in between” like on Reddit and Xitter that feel squeezed out. Even then, it’s their choice to use the inc*l label. Really their best hope is that the term inc*l becomes so overplayed…

I can’t pinpoint one incident when it started but it was probably improper form on lower body exercises (leg press, squat) that did it. Today, I shit you not, I sneezed on the stairs and collapsed. Oops. Unfortunately, it’s been intermittent for around 2 months now since I also assumed it was just a small sprain. I think too much rest might have actually made it worse.

Not sure why this became so trendy among women in my generation. I definitely had some snap judgements about it but after meeting a few women into it from different walks of life, I don’t see an issue. It’s honestly pretty cool and it looks hard as fuck to actually do.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/24 12:35 AM

Well I completely fucked up my back today (disc issue I think), I can’t really sit up or walk rn. I’m going to try and get to an orthopedist tomorrow and see what the issue is. Anyone else deal with this? And did it ever get better or should I prepare for a much quieter life lol

Weirdly enough I have the opposite problem, I’m shit at initiating, even when I know a girl is definitely interested there’s only like a 50% chance I actually swing. Once I’m in I have solid game, although like I said sometimes I’ll drop the bag in the long run. I also have dogshit text-game, which is really essential these days.

That’s like saying “I’m surprised at how much this sub cares about virginity”. That’s just the nature of the sub, certain topics get more airplay. It’s a charged topic with a big divide between how each gender sees it. Each thread brings in a new group of people that are shocked by the other gender’s response, so they make another thread and so on

/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 06:13 PM

I didn’t say all that, I think she’s still above his level looks wise. Just that women tend to overestimate how attractive men find her since she appeals to woman-geared aesthetics. It’s the same thing with Cavill and Gosling for women. They star in nerdy stuff for dudes so guys love them.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 06:02 PM

I’m inclined to say yes but I really question if the average person is all that empathetic either. It takes a lot of integrity and humility to be truly empathetic and those are not common traits. Yeah I never really understood the idea that short guys would have an easier time with tall women over short women. I think that’s just R*dditors talking out of their asses. I’ve been explicitly rejected for my height a couple times in person, and the majority of the time it was a woman around my height or taller. I’ve pulled women at my height but even then it’s much more rare compared to even a few inches shorter.

Seems to me like a lack of nutrition pulls your height down from your genetic limit. Protein-maxxing just ensures you hit that ceiling. Hence people ethnically from the countries in the bottom left not really growing past a certain point even if they grow up in protein rich countries.

I’m saying to fill in the blanks of “if x could behave like y, they [probably] would”. If you are consistent with that then I can honestly respect it, even if I don’t agree.

To be honest, I just don’t believe in god. In terms of teachings and ethics I take what I like from all kinds of places. I don’t want to be beholden to any one doctrine. I had a Catholic upbringing so that’s my moral foundation but I’ve read Hindu, Buddhist, and even [crazy] New Age stuff out of pure curiosity. I just read the stories as myth and parse deeper lessons and meaning from the text.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 09:27 PM

It’s really dependent on the starting or ending point. Non-fit women already get attention but becoming fit will skyrocket her SMV. With men it could go either way. A tall dude with good bones going from fat to fit gets a whole new lease on life. A scrawny short dude getting built will see more marginal improvements. I’d say in most cases women have more to gain, but in extreme cases men can completely transform their dating lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 09:23 PM
3

I think the idea is that the man will feel less “cheated” if the woman pays her share and there’s no follow up date. It’s all cultural nonsense anyways. People like free shit and ego boosts. Women just have more leverage to demand it early on.

In my experience most are just forthcoming about it if they’re interested in you. I don’t really care unless the number is really high or really low, but it was the women who didn’t really see things working out that kept it under wraps. I’d say the “marked” thing is only if the sleeping around occurred in the same social circle, or if the partner in question is clearly sexually open. Otherwise yeah, no one would ever know.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 07:46 PM

Honestly yeah. In Gen Z, it would be virtually unheard of for a woman to ask to hang out 1 on 1 without romantic intent. It just doesn’t happen unless you’re already very close friends.

Kinda tired of men on Reddit complaining about not getting compliments from random strangers. It’s great when it happens, but it’s not enough to actually boost your self image without anything else backing it up. Men (outside of places like this) really need to just come out and say they feel unattractive to their potential dating pool. The buzz from the Trader Joe’s cashier complimenting your shoes is only gonna last for so long.

I’m honestly fine if she doesn’t like me gaming, I don’t consider it one of my “hobbies” anyways. Just a way to unwind. Women who are extremely averse to it on principle are probably too close minded for me anyways. I’m half-Filipino. I used to not be that attracted to Asian women but something flipped around late high school/early college. I can’t lie, at least part of it is that Asian and White women are the most consistently attracted to me, although there’s some selection bias there since that’s who I’m around. There’s no ethnicity I outright wouldn’t date, but there are definitely clear patterns in what I prefer.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 10:15 PM

I tend to date Asian women so women more than 2” taller than me aren’t really common in that demographic. There have been taller non-Asian women interested in me but I don’t think any of them broke the 6’ mark. When I was on online dating I think my range was set from 5’2-5’10.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 10:13 PM
1

Not Chad but good enough to where I can’t complain about it
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 10:09 PM

I think by percentile it’d be around 5’3 or something since the average for women is 5’4 A woman’s height is rarely a dealbreaker for me anyways so yeah I was just curious
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 10:08 PM
1

4’10 is pretty short, IDK if I’d be comfortable with that I’m not lachowski but I am half-Filipino so it’s still life fuel lmao

/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:52 PM

I broadly prefer women close to my height, so I’ve gone out with a fair amount of women around 5’5/5’6. Guess my personality is pretty hefty after all. Taller gals are harder for me to crack. Need to hit that personality gym.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:51 PM

I have, rarely =/= never. Just explaining why I prefer not to travel somewhere alone with nobody I know there.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:42 PM

What’s my height-match as a 5’8.5” dude? I’m above average for my ethnicity but below average for the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:39 PM
4

It’s not girlie it’s just depressing doing that shit alone sometimes For me personally, the fun from traveling comes from socializing with locals your age and that’s way harder to do when you’re alone. Usually I’ll already have someone I know online to link up with, but I rarely travel alone in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:26 PM
1

IMO she peaked around the release of Dangerous Woman. I think she’s had work done recently which might be making her look “off”. She’s also trying to look more Asian since that’s trendy now lol
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:24 PM
1

Wouldn’t it be the other way around? Most young people in a city these days are going to have roommates, one person flats are extremely expensive
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 09:19 PM
2

Hm, I figure if you’re “noticeably tall” that should be enough for some of the shorter height queens. Hell, even at my height I tower over women at 5’ and below. I don’t know your actual facial situation though, so I can’t weigh that in
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 07:09 PM
1

I’m pretty sure it’s only a 2-5 year difference. I’d gladly lop that off to break 6’. Caving thing makes sense but I’m not really a cave kinda guy, I prefer apartments and coffee shops I will say some of my tall friends really struggle to fit into seats in cars, on buses, etc. Sure it’s funny to see from my perspective but it’d probably get really fucking annoying over the course of your life.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 07:06 PM
1

Honestly true, but a good face won’t break you into the height queen club. The latter will sometimes overlook a bad face just for the height, but there’s no real equivalent for the short guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:59 PM
4

It is what it is. I used to say I’d be happy at my dad’s height, 5’10”, but honestly why wouldn’t you want to be at least 6’. Literally just to be able to say you’re 6’. I do fine at 5’8.5” cause of my face, but if I was that height I honestly doubt I would be here at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:58 PM

Same, I see cute women in the city wearing those light blue straight cut jeans and it looks good to me
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:55 PM

“Don’t be a drain on my life” is a far cry from “make more money than me” Men here are complaining that the latter is still common among women, at least in the US. The truth is that monetary expectations in relationships are still very lopsided, even if “men don’t care about a woman’s job/finances” is untrue.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:53 PM

She’s talking about character here tho
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:42 PM
1

Ouch, I feel you with that first sentence. I fall into the opposite trap of taking responsibility for literally everything that goes wrong, which is not only unrealistic but also lowkey egotistical. On PPD we all know how the male “burden of performance” hurts men, but the inverse of “women aren’t active participants in their own lives” sounds absolutely horrific to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:41 PM

I agree but I’m talking about other people (and myself in the past). I think it’s human nature, hope springs eternal or whatever
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:35 PM

It’s actually sad how people don’t realize hypoagency is not a good thing and hurts women just as much as it helps them
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:20 PM

It’s so pathetic, instead of trying to elevate other talent they tear down the one person keeping the league relevant. It’s like they’re trying to fail, but I don’t know why they would want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:14 PM

I bought a few t-shirts from everlane and each one of them fit in a uniquely horrible way with defects and patterning errors. I also tried on some of their pants and t shirts in a store and none of them really fit me right and the fabrics felt ass for the price. Maybe their mens collection just sucks and their women’s is better, but I’m cool with saving money and sticking with Uniqlo for basics.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 06:08 PM

I actually like zip sweaters on women but that one has a weird shape. I like the black polo sweater but I’ve had bad experiences with everlane
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 05:34 PM
3

It totally depends on your phenotype and environment. I don’t believe beauty is subjective but I do believe it’s mostly arbitrary. There are many cultural and demographic factors that can determine how easy or difficult it is to find someone that (statistically) matches you. I’m not really married to the idea of “looksmatching” anyways.

I’ve always had a thing for women slightly older than me but I’ve been ending up with younger women as of late. Now I know why, they’re the ones who are down for me at 25. I need an adjustment on my preferences 💀
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/24 08:20 PM

I only have a few more years before late 20s women are no longer “older women” to me. This is an emergency situation, I need guarantees here.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/24 08:08 PM
1

IME they’re more pleasant to approach and interact with than their American counterparts. Most young people there were hella friendly. So flirting with and approaching strangers was actually fun instead of painful and awkward like in US cities. They also seem to genuinely appreciate men that dress well and work on their game compared to American women. You still have to be good looking of course, just more opportunities for bonus points. So yeah, maybe not “easy” but it’s just a better time over…

/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 09:41 PM

Just went through this myself. It genuinely sucks, sometimes even more than being rejected yourself. The worst part is, if you know she really likes you, then you definitely have to do it. What starts out as something you feel like you should do becomes the right thing to do, and it fucking hurts. My tip: if you can keep it over text, do that. If she wants to call you to talk, don’t do it until things have cooled off.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 09:09 PM

Honestly, compared to my friends in relationships I have so much more free time and disposable cash
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 09:05 PM

Because older =/= wiser, unfortunately. Part of the fun of being young is figuring shit out on your own, even if it means fucking up all the time. I’m older gen Z, but I recognize that the younger people in my generation basically had a completely different experience growing up, so I only give advice when I know it’s warranted
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 09:04 PM

It does always seem like objective ratings are higher, which doesn’t make sense. You’d think they would be able to recognize someone as conventionally attractive but not their type. Straight (?) women rating women’s attractiveness with no input from men makes no sense anyways.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/24 06:48 PM
1

TRM is literally a reactionary sub to the original rateme that basically rated every woman a 10/10. The former deliberately rates women 1-2 points lower. Idk how they rate men but I assume most male posts are ignored Numbers are stupid anyways. There will never be a consensus, only traits commonly seen as attractive or ugly.

I searched for some of my celeb crushes on r/ vindictaratecelebs and it really made me realize just how differently men and women see beauty. They rated Jihyo from TWICE a 7/10, and called Jennie Kim “average” and “washed out”. Natalie Dormer is also a 7. I got an 8 on photofeeler once so in theory…

No, it will grow out longer where it’s thick enough. The issue is that it’s not equally thick in all the places you’d want a beard to be, like between my lower lip and chin. The result is patches of grown out stubble with bare skin in between. Hence, me saying it’s not “filled in”.

Yeah, although picrel is definitely on the short side. Most women won’t look that good with pixie cut [Karen] hair, but it’s still possible. Tons of k-pop idols have shoulder length hair or shorter and it looks great. Jihyo from TWICE is a good example, everyone loves her lol

To be honest, I’ve accepted the fact that if I find a woman attractive then other men likely find her attractive as well. Especially since we live in a metro area, the chances of her having other options is virtually 100%. It’s her personal behavior and preferences that determine if I invest any more time into her. If she seems to genuinely appreciate me and my unique set of traits we’re golden. If she treats me like just another applicant then I’m already halfway out the door.

It’s way lower stakes than asking for someone’s personal phone number, especially after you’ve already had a conversation with someone. The point is it doesn’t matter who you are, women are going to look at your money. They will view men with less of it negatively and men with more of it positively. What you choose to do with that information is completely up to you.

The “manosphere” encompasses men from the furthest reaches of the conservative right to liberal feminist men. The redpill perspective is that of information, that LMS (looks, money, status) are the main methods of generating sexual value as a man. The difference is that men are actually being rejected by potential dates and partners over immutable physical traits in real life. According to women on ppd none of the above matters if the man is < 6’. He’s not statistically above average so he doesn’t deserve a non-fat woman (also statistically above average). That aside, this is really on men to solve. Women’s standards aren’t coming down of their own accord, it’s on men to value themselves enough not to settle for a woman who won’t put in effort into improving.

Us men just don’t have as much of a consensus as to what’s attractive in a woman. Definitely, but even then millennials led the occupy Wall Street movement of the late 00s and the social justice charge that defined the mid 2010s. I think post pandemic every generation got a bit more cynical in their own way. Most millennials I know are treading water but aren’t as actively depressed and su*cidal like gen z. I know way too many people my age who are in bad shape mentally.

I just think it’s a problem of insufficient data at that age. Like that’s just not enough time as a fully fledged adult to know the direction your life is gonna take, unless it’s a really extreme case. If they spend their early 20s on self improvement and socializing but get shit results then I’m much more inclined to back them in giving up.

They’re the cynical, nihilist counterpart to gen z. Millennials are whiny but they seemingly have/had hope for the future. Gen x just sort of accept that things are the way they are, hence the “it is what it is, stop complaining” attitudes a lot of them have.

I did viola in 5th grade and it was pretty cool, easier to carry around than a cello but less screechy and miserable to practice than a violin. Honestly I wish more public schools did guitar or piano lessons though. These orchestra instruments rarely ever stick around in these kids lives.

So many of these meetups are filled with dudes In the same exact boat as them. Too often you’ll make friends that have no real connections with women, at worst they’ll be friendless and you’ll just have a group of loser dudes.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:43 PM
2

I mean if a dude has no male friends to socialize with then I think that’s a much bigger issue to address before trying to date or even befriend women.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:39 PM

True, but I do think too many guys assume that they’re hopeless way too soon. Like I see guys that are barely out of high school saying “it’s over”.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:37 PM
2

Yeah to be honest I get it because that often means they expect a certain reaction. I just had a girl who would constantly mention how “hot” I was offhand even if we weren’t talking about anything sexual or romantic, and it really made me wonder if she meant it. They just sort of felt meaningless after a while. Still better than the alternative of no compliments on my appearance, though.

That sounds hilarious, I’m stealing that for the future
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:31 PM

It’s not that women don’t perceive leagues it’s just that some hot women are shockingly insecure. If anything I think women tend to overestimate how harshly men categorize them.

There’s no way that incls and the manosphere are *that important to the intelligence agencies to warrant active surveillance. Like an isolated incident every few years is just not a concerning rate of violence compared to other pressing issues like active global terror groups and political extremist activity. I’m pretty sure that’s why there seems to be an insistence on linking in*cel terror with right wing extremism. On its own it’s not enough of an issue.

Not sure what your point on western nuance is, the deepfake stuff in Korea is circulating because it’s pretty universally seen as horrifying. This whole deepfake thing is basically revenge porn on steroids, it’s up to the Korean government to actually enforce the rules on distributing pornographic material (technically all porn is illegal in Korea). It’s just a failure of the entire justice system really. They claim they can’t do anything about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 07:56 PM

You’re thinking of conservatives, Libertarians are very consistent on all of those things. Shit, the American libertarian party had gay marriage on their platform 40 years before the democrats did.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 07:44 PM

I’m not an expert on Korean issues but from what I’ve heard and seen their justice system is just fucking awful when it comes to investigating these kinds of things. Like worse than the US.

Ew no. Neither sub is ideal but menslib at least seems to not actively hate the men that participate there. The dudes there do engage in a fair amount of self-whipping though. IE is hot garbage, a beating ground for inceltears, twox, and femcels to dunk on vulnerable dudes. FDS ideology seems to be plenty welcome there too. Leftwingmaleadvocates is pretty good but it’s too focused on feminism instead of male advocacy. It’s too close to mensrights which is a whiny and unproductive sub. Malemental…

Yeah for me it’s white and Asian women that do it the most, but I wouldn’t say it happens all the time or anything. Mostly in bars/clubs when everyone is drunk. I don’t think I’ve ever been approached by a black woman since high school, and even then they were warm approaches.

Nothing wrong with stopping sweat in theory, it’s just the jury’s out on if aluminum is really harmful or not. I used to wear certain dri (turbo-antiperspirant) on occasions when I really don’t want to show sweat like interviews, dates, club nights, etc. Maybe it’ll kill me someday but I’m not interested in sweaty shirts.

The hottest women I know are usually in LTRs at any given time, but that could be selection bias. Some do fuck around in between but I don’t know for sure unless someone tells me. I usually do assume they’re off the market if I don’t know them, but the thought stops there.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:31 PM

That’s pretty much what I said to her last night. It’s a lesson she’ll have to learn on her own unfortunately.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:20 PM

Hate how much this resonates with my experience. So many “progressives” don’t actually seem to live by their stated principles and are actually atavistic as shit in their personal lives. I’m broadly progressive but ideological integrity is so important to me too. I’d much rather spend time around conservatives who practice what they preach than liberals who are hypocrites.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:18 PM

25 young enough? I’m technically gen z. My “bubble” is coastal, liberal, mostly white and Asian people in their 20s. There’s a gap, but it’s mostly in mentalities and values rather than actual political policy differences. Most people I know my age are openly liberal, although I’m friends with some conservative guys too. Very few conservative women. I’m sure a lot of guys are more conservative than they let on, but your best bet is to find a woman who won’t grill you on politics in the first pla…

Right and if you were shit on by tall guys you’d prefer shorter. Right?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:06 PM

Because there are a lot of us who either don’t care, prefer around our height or even taller women. Women’s preferences are statistically far more convergent and yet it’s like pulling teeth getting people to acknowledge that.

I agree with the title, the game has changed and it’s harder than ever for young men to find a foothold in dating and attracting women. Ignore all of the silly advice and anecdotes from 50 year olds about how their teen son is totally hooking up every weekend. But I can’t back up your observations, they are way too fatalistic to be true or useful. As a 25 year old who wasn’t in college that long ago, there were far more men in relationships than just the top tier chads. This included relationshi…

I stalked your profile a bit ngl In my experience there is definitely a demand for nerdy, cutesy, black dudes. A lot of my close friends from high school were like that and found success with artsy girls and especially European girls. I’m not an expert on the ins and outs, but I do know the nerdy black archetype is far from dead. And trust me, those carhartt mullet guys dip into my pool too. It’s an epidemic.

Social sciences and psychology are apparently a methodological trainwreck, and the unfortunate consequence is that people take those areas of study less seriously. Studies and even polls can indicate areas that merit further attention, but they need to be done properly or the results are useless.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 08:14 PM

I would, and that goes for everyone, including myself. I personally enjoy examining why I like the things that I do. And “supremely bigoted” implies that preferences can be judged ethically after all. Leonardo DiCaprio has a pretty clear preference, should we judge his character by it? Many people already do, and I think that’s fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 08:12 PM

It’s probably a negative for the majority of straight women (unless you’re very hot). That being said if you want to try it I would just do it. Nails grow fast. I’ve said a few times (today, actually) that alt women are often not more flexible about masculinity. In my experience the quiet, nerdy types of girls are. YMMV
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 07:57 PM

I think someone’s preferences, as well as how they talk about them, can tell you a lot about what they actually value. If a person’s preferences don’t line up with who they claim to be, people will be rubbed the wrong way.

R/ roastme sucks nowadays. Every time a woman posts the top comments are always some variation of “ur a slut lol”. Literally doesn’t matter what the woman says or looks like. It’s not that it’s offensive, it’s just boring knowing exactly what’s gonna be in every single thread.

“Bluepill” doesn’t mean anything on its own, there are just a number of male posters here who seemingly only ever criticize men and defend women. They get labeled “simps” even if that’s not the correct term They stand out since their female equivalents (pick me) are much rarer here

I literally said I believe you and that women like you do exist. I’m just saying that the belief that most women want masculine men is one born from lived experience. As a man who is not completely masculine, this is something I have to deal with when I date. And I’m telling you that, in my experience, there is little to no demographic escape from the standards of enforced masculinity.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 07:24 PM

I mean, choosing not to be a fan of someone isn’t much of a grudge, it’s not like I know the dude personally. It’s not like I see him as uniquely evil, domestic violence is unfortunately way too common. He just has the unfortunate (?) situation of having a famous picture and police report about the incident. That and the fact that apparently he (allegedly) has assaulted other people. Not a good look when it’s one of the things people know you for.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 07:15 PM

No, I don’t think you’re lying at all, I just think people tend to underestimate the power of conformity in these conversations. It has been my experience across different political and cultural groups that women overwhelmingly prefer men with conventionally masculine traits. Whether or not this is cultural or biological is up in the air. It’s not that women who don’t prefer these things are weird or extreme outliers, but it’s clear that the supply of non-conventionally masculine men outweighs t…

To be honest I think America is a good example of why hyper-agency isn’t actually beneficial and doesn’t lead to more responsible people. All of those things can be attributed to bad parenting, but at some point in the child’s life we put the responsibility on them to make changes. The issue is, when no one takes responsibility for them before that point it’s unlikely they’ll change without going through genuine pain. I can believe that women who prefer shorter guys exist. I’ve met plenty that were open to them. But to say that your singular preference outweighs a metric ton of statistical and anecdotal evidence is absurd.

The universality of it is what gets in men’s heads. It’s an unchangeable trait that effectively ranks men in terms of desirability. In an age where more people are struggling to date and sexual attraction is the driving force in starting relationships, of course height is going to come up a lot. I said I didn’t let what those girls said ruin my confidence, but it’d be stupid to pretend like it never happened at all. It does happen, the point of my OP is that denying this only makes men more incl…

Why wouldn’t you feel at least a little insecure about it, especially if you’ve had experiences confirming it? I’ve had beautiful women that I respect tell me they’d date me if I was taller. Straight up. Of course I’m gonna think about that later, even if it doesn’t destroy my self confidence completely. It’s something I can never work on or change, and yet it will always hold me back. This is coming from someone who dates just fine at 5’8”. I’m just saying when men complain about their height, …

The truth is there’s a spectrum. There’s no good reason for men over 5’6” to resign themselves to a horrible lonely life for the rest of their lives over their height. But the guy who’s 5’4” is running a way different race from me, and I don’t understand the inclination towards telling him his experiences are invalid or not true when it’s a clearly observable phenomenon. As for “raw attraction”… I get it. It’s an insecurity I share because I’ve seen how the lack of it causes relationships to dis…

I never felt the need to limit my emotional responses… until I started dating. I never felt pressure to make 6 figures… you get the idea. If ur talking about huge female body builders then I agree, that’s a niche that most non sub guys aren’t gonna be down for. But the gym girls who have nice bodies/abs are usually ones that lift since muscle helps burn fat. I personally find fit bodies very attractive visually and I find the dedication to becoming stronger attractive too. You also know these girls are going to stay fit looking for longer until life or health gets in the way. Issue is the kinda fit girls usually want very fit guys…

/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 08:34 PM

It definitely is, I’m being facetious about it. But I do need to see a doctor just to be sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:44 PM

Those standards are arbitrary. Both men and women will argue that their “matches” are more attractive than they are. In pretty much every country outside of the US men aren’t expected to be bodybuilders or roided up to attract non fat women, and I think that’s where the complaints from American men are coming from. Thin men in Europe or Asia date thin women all the time since being thin is the standard for everybody.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:43 PM

Lowkey goes for guys too. I neglected cardio for too long and realized that it caps your lifting potential pretty badly.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:28 PM

I hurt my back doing squats which means I likely won’t be able to turbo-bulk/gym max to the extent I want to this fall. My dating life is soon to be in shambles and I will likely never be happy again. What a shame.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:27 PM

That shit is way too expensive. I can afford it but why would I? I’ve only gone during my deepest depressive episodes, and even then the benefits have been marginal. The biggest improvements to my mental health have been concrete changes to my lifestyle, not therapy. Therapy is nice but it cuts into the pool of cash I could be using to actually spend on things that make me feel good, or better yet, improve my circumstances. If good care was more affordable and accessible then I would be on board…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:19 PM

It’s also ridiculous if you’re in shape yourself asking for someone who likely does less than you do for your body. If you’re a fat dude demanding a thin woman then that’s one thing, but if you’re in decent shape I don’t see why wanting your equal is so bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:15 PM

My thoughts exactly
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:13 PM

There’s a lot, but a big one is learning to get over my fear. When I was younger I was afraid of basically everything. How long has it been? If you feel like you could never have those intense feelings again then I say it’s no big deal since they’ll come up later. If you feel like you could meet someone tomorrow who you fall head over heels for… there you go.

3

That’s actually what I’m leaning towards myself, since it’s been true in my personal experience. I’ve even seen cultural changes affect my dating life personally, being an Asian dude. I don’t think men are immune to cultural conditioning at all but the effect is way less severe in terms of dating preferences.

According to the fat women on Reddit plenty of chad tier guys love them and proposition them 💀 In all seriousness though, yes, I’ve seen (and known) conventionally attractive men who genuinely preferred overweight, alternative, minority, etc. women. All you have to do is ask the women in those groups to show what kind of guys they can pull, and they’ll show you themselves. OLD is like a force multiplier for the phenomenon. Obviously it’s not going to be the majority of cases, the limited supply …
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 08:39 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 07:31 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 07:29 PM

It’s a different kind of great. Sopranos is more of a “traditional” tv show with longer character arcs and plotlines. The Wire has a giant ensemble cast and is hyper focused on realism. I’d definitely recommend both but The Wire can be really slow and confusing at first, especially if you’re not used to shows like it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 07:27 PM

I can agree with that, but even at its weakest I still enjoyed The Wire more than most television.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 07:22 PM

The Wire really is the peak, I’ve never seen a show as consistent
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 05:14 PM

I’m actually going to say attractive men. The relative rarity of universally attractive men gives them leverage in most contexts, and they’re more likely to actually desire that type of attention compared to women. Neither is really a bad gig though
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 05:12 PM

As a group, men really don’t have standards since virtually every type of women can find interest from a variety of men. Individual men absolutely do have standards though, despite what some of the dudes here say.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 05:08 PM

You’re better off being well socialized in general, but the skills you get from friends and family are not the same skills you need to date women.

It’s not that they’re wrong, thin women are very desirable in the US for the simple fact that they are now more rare than ever. The problem is that they use it as an example of men’s standards being unreasonable when typically the man is asking for someone around the same level of fitness. In the case he happens to be below average height, or a rcial mnority, or not rich, his match is said to be someone without the self control to maintain a healthy weight. As a man who takes his style and grooming pretty damn seriously I would happily accept this but the truth is the ROI on self improvement is totally fucked for most men. The differences in the quality and quantity of women I’ve been able to attract at different times in my life have been minimal, and mostly change due to environment. My natural features almost always take precedence for women that either do or don’t like me. Despite consistently working out and making an effort to always look goo…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 11:32 AM

The reality is that the popularity is probably driving the price up as more men seek it out. Insurance usually doesn’t cover anything “cosmetic” so that’s out too. I’d assume it’s cheaper in countries like Turkey or Korea where cosmetic surgery is cheaper across the board.

I can’t say this lines up with my experience. I’m 5’8”, slim, and half Asian. I get a decent amount of attention, but not exactly Chad material in the states. In Korea (far from a poor country) I was getting hit on virtually every day and approached by women who, in the states, I’d consider out of my league. It was shocking how differently I was treated despite looking and acting the same as I did at home. Yes, it’s probably different for men who get zero attention at home, but the point is that…

The main difference is the proliferation of social media and smartphones at a young age. I’m the oldest in the gen z bracket and by the time I was in middle school most people had smartphones and were glued to them. Adults and kids. We also have to remember that for younger gen z, covid was pretty crazy and a big chunk of their lives. I lost around a year of college, but there are millions of…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/24 08:00 PM

There are a shocking number of adults who, despite saying they know life isn’t fair, maintain the idea that all people get what they truly deserve in the end. It’s not true, and it’s never been true, but it’s convenient to treat people that way so the thought continues.

This is probably not the primary issue since dating in liberal US cities is still difficult relative to other large cities in the world. You could say instead that it’s the combination of religion and wealth that makes the US uniquely difficult but I’m not sure.

You are correct for China and Korea having a smaller gap, Japan is different afaik. Southeast Asia is populous, has far fewer guns than the US, and yet most of the countries have a large gender gap (2x in Cambodia, Singapore, etc.) I’m not saying guns don’t matter in suicide, they obviously do, but taking away guns will likely not address the gap on its own.

I really don’t want to break this girls heart but I think I have to soon rather than lead her on, or worse jump into a relationship that’ll crash and burn. Sometimes I wish I had a players heart man, this shit sucks.

I never understood the numbers on that claim. Of course people who survive attempt more, someone “successful” can only attempt once. Unless they’re talking about population percentages? In which case the gap is even more striking, how are men that much more successful at it when a smaller percentage even tries?

I can’t agree with this, most Asian countries have suicide gender gaps and no guns (except Korea which is closer than most places)

I think glasses are a case by case kinda thing. The majority look better without, a handful look better with, and a lucky few look equally attractive both ways. I personally look better without, but my face shape apparently works with a lot of different frames so I wear glasses on occasion. If a chick likes me both ways, it means she’s dtf. No exceptions.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:49 PM

“Chunky but built” guys are pretty popular for American gals. Generally bigger = better, but that also means getting leaner can be better since you’ll look bigger. But then again if you’re short like me then getting too big will make you look smaller… ymmv
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:47 PM

Don’t worry, I won’t
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:43 PM

The secret is to be “suave” with everyone, once it becomes a habit it’s much easier to be calm around someone you’re actually interested in. But yeah, I definitely do tend towards that “fuck this dating shit” mentality a lot of the time. It’s actually fucked me over a few times when someone was flirting and I just wasn’t really in the game. So if you can deal with the 2AM “damn she was actually dtf” thoughts then it’s not so bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:42 PM

At the risk of sounding like I’m bragging, a few of my friends see me as the guy who “never has to try” with women and express some jealousy over it. I always tell them that they only see my wins and not the dry spells in between. And that they overvalue my facial attractiveness compared to my height, rce, cck size etc, which all factor into dating success as well. I’m not a chad, just a bit above average, so I’m not as far from them as they think. Basically, yes, the grass is a bit greener but …
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:33 PM

Given that power and leadership are seen as traditionally masculine qualities, I struggle to imagine a leadership position that would select for the opposite. It’s actually one of the reasons why I think we should be critical of gender roles in the first place. Things like assertiveness or initiative shouldn’t be tied to masculinity or femininity at all, but they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:22 PM

I mean, I don’t personally have any attachment to masculinity and am willing to be “feminine” if it suits me. Even in these liberal cities I still see social and especially romantic penalties for stepping out of my masculine role. The “fuck it” crowd is a minority, but it’s a growing one. Obviously you’re less likely to see them espouse things in public. But I know I have some resentment towards my gender role personally, and I think the disconnect between social messaging and social results is …
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 05:09 PM

Is it? Feminine women are still highly valued by both men and women, as are independent and masculine women. Hence “socially liberated”. We see femininity it as inferior in men because it almost universally leads to worse outcomes socially and romantically. If that was to change, and agreeable feminine men were more valued, then I could see men changing very quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 04:55 PM
3

Because despite the name, masculine and feminine gender roles aren’t roles to be filled like jobs at an office. A masculine woman usually doesn’t want a feminine man, she wants a man who’s even more dominant. More money, more initiative, more success, etc. The keyword here is more.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 04:51 PM

The problem isn’t women acting like men. (I’m not really convinced that they do en masse) The issue is socially liberating only half of the population from their gender role while holding the other half to theirs. Of course there’s going to be a lot of resentment, or a lot of dudes going “fuck this”. Even redpill is basically just a long-winded response to this phenomenon, it just doubles down on hypermasculinity.

I used to be skeptical about the “unfulfilling work but good pay” complaints but damn if I don’t feel it in IT right now. To me it was the degree and severity of male beauty standards that shocked me. I’ve taken my appearance seriously from a pretty early age (early high school), but it’s taken me far longer to really hone in on the areas that women seem to care about most. Even longer to accept that some of those are completely outside of my control, since those tend to be the most taboo to discuss. These conversations on male beauty and attractiveness are still largely relegated to dingy corners of the internet. …

Sounds like what redpill claims to be. “We can’t actually change how women operate, so we’ll develop strategies around it to get what we want”. Basically an optimization of the male imperative. Not saying that’s how redpillers always act, but that’s the mission brief. Same with FDS. Both tend to devolve into shitting on the opposite sexes behavior. It is what it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:13 PM

It’s the lack of critical thinking that’s far scarier. People are reading more than they speak nowadays, the real problem is that so many never think deeply about what they’re consuming since information is so worthless now.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 08:10 PM

I thought pinkpill was supposed to be the blackpill equivalent for women, that’s why they use a lot of the same language. FDS is probably closer to a redpill counterpart IMO. Redpillers would probably argue that women are “redpilled by default”, though.

You’d have to be extremely far up your own ass to feel “offended” by someone showing interest in you and think you’re attractive. I respect the courage it takes to shoot your shot and risk rejection.

That’s a solid perspective, I feel like I hear the tall version of that problem more from my male friends who can’t fit in the back of an Uber. But being too short to reach things or fit into seats is probably a huge hassle. I can bitch about being 5’8 all day but in the end, I can use and fit into more or less anything since most of it was made by people not too far off from me.

I agree, but unfortunately my phenotypes (and personal style tbf) don’t line up with a super traditionally masculine guy. I do my best to pay my dues to the altar of masculinity, but I’m more likely to stick with the ones that I enjoy personally like lifting weights and being a bit stoic. Everything else kinda is what it is.

Any guys here wear rings (just for looks, not wedding/engagement bands)? I’ve always been kinda uninterested since I feel like they could get in the way of using my hands compared to something like a necklace or bracelet which are usually out of the way. I think they do look cool on certain guys, so I’m not totally closed off. I am mildly interested in some of those health tracker rings though.

I’m a (broadly) liberal man and in all honestly it’s kinda shit sometimes. You’re in the closest proximity to the people that talk the most shit about you, and you’re more likely to be stereotyped as unmanly. People will hold you to gender roles that you don’t hold them to. Not a big deal socially, but in dating it blows. I see why dudes are moving right, I just don’t agree with the positions. At least conservative guys have something to aspire to. Just can’t be me.

“I’m 5’4” and my height has never impacted my dating life in any way” is just as ridiculous to hear as “it’s hopeless purely because I’m 5’9” Like it’s one thing to have anecdotal experience, but it’s another entirely to be straight up wrong about your own life
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:36 PM

I don’t see it as weird at all. It’s just more pictures to see. If it’s the only thing on the profile, then it’s a massive 🚩
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 05:34 PM

Men have no idea about makeup. I’d posit that in a blind trial 90% of guys couldn’t tell if a woman had on foundation or not. That’s generally what guys mean when we say “natural look”. It’s not totally our fault when the majority of the time we see women in public, they have some amount of makeup on. The only reason I’m even privy to it is I started wearing bb cream myself, and know how under the radar it can go.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 05:34 PM

I agree, but I also try to acknowledge the reality of the situation. I’m 5’8, half Asian, and skinny, but I get a lot of leeway for having a relatively handsome face, and that’s a tangible advantage I have. It’s not fair for me to say that because I don’t have an issue with my height, race, etc. that nobody should. Individual preferences should not be a point of contention, but spread out over a large population it can lead to trends that create resentment. There are entire groups of people that…

5’7-5’9 really isn’t the death knell that blackpillers make it out to be, especially if you have other attractive traits. No one is dateless solely because they’re average height. I do think the height thing is getting worse among younger women due to social media. The inverse is true as well, guys can see the difference in how taller men are treated and the resentment builds. I’m 5’8 and it’s definitely been a mark against me before, but it’s kinda my fault since I tend to prefer women close to…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:27 PM

“Cheating is not as bad if my gender does it” Sorry, but verbal agreements are gender neutral. If you’re in a monogamous relationship, then you made a promise not to fuck other people. If you cheat, you broke that promise. It’s really that simple. Anything beyond that is just rationalizing your shitty behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:53 PM

Doesn’t really matter, I figure most people use them interchangeably. It’s really the context that determines if I get an ego boost.

The truth is that very few people in general are consistent in their acknowledgment of social issues. People pick and choose, and are typically biased towards things that affect them personally. I assure you this is not limited to the men in this sub.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:44 PM

Men don’t like the idea of unreciprocated effort, that’s really all there is to it. I pay for dates, and while I have a general amount of resentment for being held to a gender role I dislike, I don’t hold it against individual women unless they seem like they’re taking advantage of it. It’s just a part of the process of dating in America. It is what it is.

As a nerdy introvert who learned to be cool, I think the replaying interactions can be a good thing if you think about what you did right. Like if you made a group of people laugh or something. Then next time you’re in a similar situation you don’t have to worry about what works since you already know and you can go from there. When someone has enough choices, preferences become inevitabilities. Why would they go for something they like less when something they like more is out there? Imagine a young woman in a big city who prefers tall men. Even if she’s “open to date shorter guys”, why would she when there are men who she can have that aren’t? With online dating, women’s circle of available men has increased dramatically. It’s like a job posting with 1 applicant vs 1000. The “nice to haves” become “must haves” by the…

The “sex issue” is a big part of dating though, and it’s the hardest bar for most men to clear. I’m not even a high libido guy, the actual sex is not that important for me. Despite that, it’s very important that the girl I’m dating is sexually attracted to me, because in my experience it’s the number one predictor of how well things will go with her, short or long term.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 08:35 PM

Take it from a guy who’s also a skinny nerd. You need to clear the bar of “measurable success” before the trait becomes attractive. Being nerdy never got me girls, but being nerdy enough to get a good job did. Playing guitar never got me girls, but playing in front of an audience did. Going to the gym didn’t help me, getting results in the gym did. And so on. Of course being attractive is also a minimum bar to clear. Then I had girls appreciating my unique traits and quirks. The point is, it’s n…

That’s it. The only people that lose are OF creators and ASMR channels. I think it’ll be a good thing for struggling men, but it likely won’t affect anyone else in a significant way.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 02:14 PM

Sounds kinda backhanded lol

Am I the only one who thinks French tacos sound kinda good Korean tacos are straight 🔥 though
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 10:58 PM

I can’t say for certain, but I think I would be. Would I be interested in the majority? Probably not, but I’m sure that’d be a mutual feeling.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 07:28 PM
1

Not really. Statistically, I’m below average in some ways, above in others. But I’m definitely not what anyone is thinking of when they think of the average dude. I’m able to date women that are generally above average, so there’s that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 07:14 PM
1

This reads like “the wall” cope. These women are delusional about the number of high calibre men interested in committing to them, but average guys are still available. It might not be as easy to get the 6’5 ultra Chad’s attention at 40, but average dudes are still going after women at that age. That’s why so many people eventually settle.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 07:05 PM

“I’m not like other girls, I like rich, tall, white guys” Incredible. Next you’ll tell me you like eating ice cream, or prefer walking on two legs.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 06:22 PM

At the end of the day, it’s preselection. A lack of social capital. “Am I fighting for a spot no one’s ever wanted?”
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 09:44 PM

Fuck it
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 04:02 AM

I wouldn’t discount the concurrent rise of social media & birth control availability as factors too
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:58 AM

All over, some Etsy, some nicer brands. Not a huge collection, mostly watches since jewelry is pretty new for me
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:35 AM

Kinda weird advice, but look at Korean street style for some inspiration. They wear a lot of black, and don’t usually wear shorts in the summer. You could pull some ideas from them. I’m going through an emo phase too, lotta black clothes and silver jewelry this summer
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 11:47 PM

???? That’s a wild comment lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:56 PM
4

That’s fine, I know there are women who don’t think this way, but it’s disingenuous to say it doesn’t happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:51 PM

It comes down to attraction. If she’s down for you, you’ll know.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:50 PM

Women are in this very thread saying they use this strategy…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:48 PM
1

Date last night went great, but she way overestimates how much I pull. I’m cute, but I literally haven’t been on a date or hooked up with girl since last year. I’m not really complaining but damn, I don’t want to give her the wrong idea if we keep seeing each other. I actually like this chick.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:37 PM
1

The problem isn’t that women want to be the most attractive version of themselves, the problem is that men have far fewer socially acceptable avenues to do the same. I think that’s where the frustration comes from.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 04:34 PM
1

SMV vs. PSL basically
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 04:32 PM

There’s plenty of overlap. Traits that we consider attractive are most often traits that garner sexual attention from the opposite sex.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:52 PM

Depending on the metrics I’d posit a lot of guys are statistically above average, just in ways that aren’t weighted as heavily for their area. 100k is great nationally, but in an HCOL area it’s not really all that. Same with being a healthy weight, the average is skewed by extreme obesity.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:51 PM
1

Apparently it spikes estradiol and t levels That’s just what I’ve heard ofc
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:49 PM

Well of course, men making Pinterest boards isn’t really a thing anywhere
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 01:27 PM

Used to happen more often in the daily. I will say that there was some serious variety in the types of women posted, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 01:14 PM
2

Honestly I see people shitting on the former too, “fishing for compliments”, etc. Attractive people know they’re good looking and have privileges others don’t, so it’ll always fuck with people when they talk about it negative or positive
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/24 06:27 PM
1

Doesn’t do shit anymore unless you have some amount of success playing in a band/live. Just being a hobbyist, even if you’re very good, is not going to be attractive on its own. This pretty much goes for any hobby tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/24 06:25 PM
2

That’s actually fucking incredible
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 10:44 PM

Generally yes, although nowadays young men seem to be less interested in pursuing cold leads so it might take longer.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 07:11 PM

I’ve heard this and even repeated it, but when I think back on the friends I’ve made as an adult it was mostly through just chatting and a shared outing.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 07:03 PM

<image> Hm
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 07:01 PM
1

I think they’re more likely to be from a place of genuine attraction (doesn’t necessarily mean their intentions are more or less valid), but the only way a woman would be able to sus that out is through her past experiences. I think that’s what I’m trying to get at.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 06:49 PM

Meh, I like watching sports but I get why some people find it boring. I find baseball pretty dull, but basketball has my full attention. It’s just taste
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 04:38 PM

Her body language will give it away. If it sounds like she’s giving you shit but she’s smiling, laughing, touching, etc. then you’re in a better spot.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 04:37 PM
2

It’s hard to judge when it’s a short interaction with a stranger vs. a girl I’ve known for some time or one that I’m involved with. In the moment I take the compliment for what it is and then put it into context later. As for where “desperation” comes in, I’d argue that that’s more of a characteristic of men as a group, and not so much individual men. Don’t know if OP makes that distinction.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 04:35 PM

You’d actually be shocked, a good number of guys I know actually like the no curves look more.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 04:15 PM
1

I would not call her a liar, I would thank her and move on with my day. I wouldn’t even think she’s being delusional or dishonest, she could be absolutely genuine as far as I know. The only reason I bring up the internalizing is because OPs premise seems to revolve around it, so I was trying to put it into that context.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 04:11 PM
2

That’s a wild take 💀
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 04:03 PM
1

My point is it’s not about the woman being dishonest. I wouldn’t call her a liar, but I also wouldn’t internalize the comment much if the rest of my experiences don’t line up with it. I know damn well I’m not a 10/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 03:57 PM
3

I’m a man who gets complimented by other men a lot on my appearance. It doesn’t really mean much when that’s not reflected in my success with women (I do okay, but nowhere near as well as my peers assume). I think men should absolutely lift each other up, and it’s something I’m experiencing more. But in the end, we’re too results oriented for it to impact our overall confidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 03:34 PM
1

Some gal drunkenly called me a 10, that doesn’t mean I internalized it as true 💀
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 03:31 PM
10

As a group, men find more types of women attractive than vice versa. It doesn’t mean every individual man is attracted to most women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 03:30 PM
2

Goals. I think close height couples are lowkey the cutest but that’s just me
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 06:08 PM
2

It could be, I hang around a lot of Asian Americans, mostly East Asian and Filipino. I think location skews it too. I’m around a lot of Koreans who tend to be taller than other Asians, both guys and girls.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 05:57 PM
1

Yeah around the same height is not that rare (god bless) but I’m talking about the people saying their wife is like 5” taller. I never see that shit lol
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 05:48 PM
1

I buy it. I wonder if it’s more common among the older generations, since I don’t think my grandparents were far off in height either.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 05:14 PM
1

Weirdly enough I’ve found the opposite to be true, where the Chinese and Korean couples are close in height. When I visited Seoul it was something I noticed. TBF I’m at the slightly taller end of the Filipino height range (5’8.5” lol) so maybe I don’t notice since the girls are usually a good amount shorter than me
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 05:13 PM
2

The test was based on some weird bullshit, most of it was just having random words in your vocabulary iirc. It’s true that I was always good at reading, but I just don’t think that translates to being some prodigy.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:19 PM
1

I’ve always said that Asian couples (as in, from or in Asia) are often closer in height. The guy will be within 2-3” of the girl. Ideal height difference in my mind, but what do I know
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:15 PM

I’m married to the game, and that’s 💯📠
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:11 PM

I don’t agree with the people who say he’s just trolling, but I think he does play up the lunacy. Some of his takes are just plain hilarious.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:10 PM

According to standardized tests I was reading at a “college level” by 6th grade. Doesn’t mean shit if you don’t actually take the time to read those materials, and it means even less if you’re a lazy kid who doesn’t study. I do think people overestimate natural differences in intelligence. Being truly smart takes work ethic, and the right learning environment. Most of the smartest people I knew in college studied hard, it’s not like they rolled up and aced every test without trying.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:09 PM
2

I can’t imagine that every guy on Reddit who says he has a taller wife is lying. I just want to know if there’s a demographic thing I’m missing.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:05 PM

Newjeans is honestly one of the only kpop acts I genuinely enjoy listening to
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 04:00 PM
5

I was called a “gifted kid” because I was really good at reading at an early age and did well on standardized tests. People have always overestimated my intelligence, up until college where my classmates were actually smart. I think the bar for education in America is so low that being even slightly smart as a child can have you labeled as gifted.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 03:59 PM
2

Where are all of these couples where the guy is shorter than the girl? I feel like I hear it all the time online but I struggle to think of an example in my personal life. I’ve seen it in person walking around the city but it’s still rare. Mostly foreign couples. Obviously I don’t expect them to be common, the numbers just don’t make sense that way, but I feel like I hear about it more than I see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 03:56 PM
3

In many cases these are just the same archetype of man but styled differently. The scholarly pretty boy is just the lumberjack shaven and with longer hair. The emo boy is the pretty boy but skinny and with jewelry. The core features are largely the same, at least in the West.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 03:31 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 06:55 PM

No she’s toxic as hell but it’s not like she’s the only artist with problems. What makes her different is her fanbase is almost exclusively women. Even “male” focused acts like Kanye or Radiohead have tons of female fans, but male Taylor fans are pretty rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 03:09 PM

It’s just more rare. Women absolutely take initiative when they really like you.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 03:05 PM

I’ve been on the internet long enough to know that all of the above and more are thrown around, for both genders. The internet is still a place full of strangers, no matter how we try to clean it up, people will say wild shit when there are no consequences. Hell, even if there were, some people still would.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 02:28 PM

Super interesting theory, and there’s lots of examples of this in my dreams/real life. Either that or I’ve got greensight
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 01:49 PM

I really truly wish I still believed this, but there is so much overlap that when you spread out preferences across a large population, there are clearly attractive and unattractive traits.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 01:48 PM
2

French ppl
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 01:22 PM

Definitely not, I think men are more willing to go full mask off. I’m just saying don’t let the ladies blindside you cause it’ll be a big shock when it happens
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 10:10 PM

Agree, the only thing that can be tricky is finding out what style and haircut: A. Looks good on you specifically B. Is attractive to women You need both, and a lot of the content about these things online is outdated shit or just completely wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 07:56 PM

We met each other in person and hit it off so it’s a bit better, but I do agree that locking down a date is important. Pretty much the first thing I did after we got each others numbers

How can I keep things spicy and interesting over text with a girl who’s not really “like that”? I love to flirt but I’m not sure how to cross the line here. I’m chatting pretty much nonstop with this girl but I feel like she’s gonna get bored before our date if I don’t start flirting more overtly.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 04:52 PM

Weird, I got more likes on Hinge than any other platform. Could be a demographics thing. The conversations were slower for sure, though. Tinder, people wanted to either meet up immediately or never. Hinge was more in the middle.

I had to scroll through the swamp to find it
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 06:20 PM

It’s not that men care more, it’s just that there are far too many men who have looks as their only standard, so it’s all they ever vocalize
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 06:08 PM
1

I definitely agree, but sometimes I find that a formal “set up” can make things feel sterile. Hard to really hit it off like that, just look at the rate of return on dating apps/speed dating. It works if you two are very mutually attracted right away, but anything less it’s probably DOA It’s worked on occasion for me, but it’s never led to anything long term.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 02:29 PM
2

They can put you together but they can’t force you to hit it off if there’s no attraction one or both ways You’re much more likely to meet someone at a get together or party when mutuals show up
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 01:47 PM

I’ve actually seen a number of posts about it lately, it might be a trend in a bit lol
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 10:57 PM

My brother is somehow even less athletic than me, so I would just be shocked it went down like that. My dad would absolutely destroy me in basketball at my age though. Honestly he could still probably whoop me. My girlfriend would sign an nda and I would immediately block her on all open lines
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 09:26 PM

Twitter honestly feels more like 4chan than 4chan does these days
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 09:21 PM

Yeah I don’t see the problem. If it was girl you just started seeing then yeah that’s weird, but calling someone you spend literally all of your time with your best friend is probably just a fact
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 08:08 PM

This girl I hit it off with last weekend is taking handcuffing lessons at work We’re meeting up next weekend, see you all in the next life
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 08:04 PM

It’s just weird, being 5’8 has never really impacted my life outside of dating. 5’6 and under is a whole different ballgame.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 03:55 PM
3

How tf is the average height sub more bläckpįlled than the short one?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 03:30 PM

Like most things in the manosphere it’s not well defined, so you’ll get a bunch of different answers. I think of it as a man who is attractive enough to get consistent sexual attention from women. Usually this means falling under all or most conventional beauty standards. So the 2nd is the closest, although face is a bit more subjective.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 11:53 PM
27

That’s a lot of words to say people want a relationship that disproportionately benefits them. Women want an attractive guy who has no expectations for your behavior but is also a breadwinner/provider, what a shocker. There is no way for a man to showcase he is egalitarian until later in the relationship. Anything prior to that is just words. So to hold all potential partners to traditional gender roles while holding yourself to none is just blatant self interest. Ironically, it sounds an awful …
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 11:06 PM

Figures I’d get half the blessing
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 09:21 PM

1 if you add them up
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 08:22 PM

I can’t imagine a girl bringing it up out of nowhere if she hasn’t thought about it seriously, the joking tone is probably a test to see if you are interested. If not she can back it out as a joke. Guys pull that trick all the time tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 08:02 PM
2

I think they are related. Acknowledging your agency means you inherently claim responsibility for your behavior. It sounds ridiculous but it does happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 06:50 PM

Actually based take. People who focus on the exact number instead of the attitude are weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 06:47 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 02:10 PM

The question is which party is being spanked? And why should it be me??
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 12:13 AM

I was joking, I wouldn’t do that. I say let them look. If they can’t accept that I’ve got attractive platonic friends, it probably wasn’t going to work anyways.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 12:05 AM

I respect that. For me personally, I value having a large and dynamic social circle, but I can already feel that drive waning as I age.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 12:03 AM

I used to be like that, but I felt socially handicapped so I caved. It really hasn’t been so bad, I post around once a year and rarely go on it any other time. If I do, it’s for the messaging.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:58 PM

Yeah, I never really thought about it. I thought it was normal to follow more girls than guys since girls are just more likely to be active If they’re too pretty I’m unfollowing them ASAP
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:53 PM

I want to see men NOW
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:51 PM

She only has that one popular song where she dumps on the other gal. The rest are pretty standard mainstream girl friendly. She’s infinitely marketable to virtually any subset of young women. They either want to be like her or find her inoffensive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:49 PM

That’s a level of wealth that’s very difficult to attain, especially at a younger age. Low 6 figures ($100-250k) really isn’t gonna cut it for buxxing these days, at least not in the places where attractive women usually congregate.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:46 PM

Is following a lot of girls on ig really that bad? I just follow people I’ve met irl and we exchange handles, I don’t message 99% of them ever I’m pretty sure some of them have unfollowed me during my periods of inactivity. There goes my ratio oops
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:43 PM

Sounds like he’s just vanilla. I’m not really interested in roleplay/bdsm stuff either tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 11:39 PM

There certainly is bad pizza, Philadelphia is a thing
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 09:08 PM

That’s only if you’re really good looking. A quiet average or even above average dude is getting ignored for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 09:04 PM

Some people just perpetually have a stick up their ass. It’s like a bitch/douchbag gene and there’s nothing you can do.

That’s probably not a good thing since if you end up meeting them irl they’ll see you in glasses anyways. If you have to wear glasses I’d just put a picture of you in them on your profile. Rip that bandaid off early.
