It’s depends on who invited who out. If I ask a woman out, I know I’m paying. If a woman asks me out, she should be paying. That’s how me and my girlfriend operates. We alternate on paying, which is a situation I’ve never been in and love

Yes and no... you took it as racist. I took it as what it is. This is a right leaning sub, so i prefaced my comments as a black man to do the extent of where the situation was in my eyes. Instead of keeping to the topic at hand, you got some hate towards a movement that has nothing to do with the situation above

I would stop the fight first, and depending on how they react we’ll see how it goes. 1. Tell her friends to get her 2. Tell him to take care of his business and leave to drop-escalate the situation 3. If shit hit the fan and more attack, at that point yeah I’ll have to back him up. You can tell he wanted no part of that so it’s basically bullying.

As a black man, I’m all for protecting black women, but she would’ve gotten laid out after the first slap. At that point, I’m self defense

Some people view this discussion as “toxic” as it shows below lol. I can have the same kind of discussion on a wide array of topics/issues and it would be looked at the same way lol

Lol yeah I know. Sorry I’m multitasking. I’m some situations, I totally agree with you. Especially in the ones where some guy just has unprotected sex with someone. However in some, it’s downright unfair. If 2 people come to an agreement to have a kid(or even unexpectedly have one), and we both work and work together to take care of this kid, why should I immediately be forced to pay a judged amount a month by someone who has no clue of the situation between both parties? If one party had to sta…

This is true, however in a lot of cases sacrifice went both ways. It was a decision both parties made, but one party has to bear the consequences of a split more. If we both are employed, have 50/50 custody, and both do what we can to take care of this kid, why am I paying out a judged amount that may be more than what was done before when I at this point have a financial responsibility to myself probably being in a different living situation, as well as paying a judged amount that is most likel…

Because there are some who are in the same position. This isn’t a man vs woman debate. This is a hard worker vs slacker/free loader debate

Correct. I’m not speaking as a “women all take advantage” perspective. I think with growing roles of both genders, this whole idea that someone is owed a high portion to take care of a kid is a dangerous precedent to have. In today’s America, most couples have both parties working and supporting each other. So if I as party A and not given custody and living separately, then the only thing I should pay is what I would pay if I was still with Party B. Nothing extra to grease party B’s pockets Ali…

With that being said, can we modernize Divorce and child support laws, too? Edit: Lol at this being my most upvoted comment. If it is coming off as toxic, I apologize. I usually don’t discuss this but you have to admit the way it works has made almost no sense since at least the 1990’s
