I'm a lonely guy who's getting long in the tooth, buy yes, I agree, there is more than one woman out there who we can feel deep feelings for. It takes time to heal. She had become like family. I wish there was no attraction between us so we could have become actual friends. She would be like a sister to me forever. After we parted I felt like when my dog died. Still do. I don't agree with forgetting everything. Forget the injury. Keep the light inside. You have to have light inside you if you wa…

I'll keep those things in mind for the next girl. What ended up happening is we couldn't meet because of the lockdown and we developed some sort of long distance relationship where we texted many hours a day and made plans to hang out. At some point she said she had a boyfriend back in her home country who she was bored of and wanted to fall in love next time she met someone. I told her more directly this time that I had feelings for her. She told me not to joke... And that she liked me as a fri…

Yeah I should have done something like that. I think she became very embarassed because next day in class she avoided me. I set up a second date for lunch but I didn't make a move. Seeing her more reserved I also pulled back. A simple I like you might have been enough to set things on the right track again. Too bad.

I have cut all of them from my life. I rely on myself now.

Thanks you summed things up so perfectly! No these people were strangers who happened to be there. I should have taken her somewhere else. There was this young woman who was sitting right behind her and was in my line of sight. She had raised her chin and didn't break hostile eye contact for a second while we were there. I just couldn't relax. I didn't want to alert her so I didn't say anything. She was a bit angry afterwards, she felt rejected I guess. People always bully me. I don't think fate…

I agree. The last girl I dated left me for a tall thin guy who played the violin. He looked dominant while he played. Domineering! The reason? A very straight back.

I kept thinking what if she doesn't want me to? Also there were threatening people in my line of sight. She was asian and they didn't want us there.

There were also hostile people around us. Also I'm the kind of anxious person that thinks come on! You must making a mistake. Why would she like someone like you.

People on other foruns including a therapist told me that since nothing happened she just wanted to be friends and that I was misinterpreting common courtesy and friendliness for flirting.

People on other forums where I saught advice told me she just wanted to be friends and that my expectations were to high and that I probably was confused because she was asian. Psychopathic and/or jealous people will say anything to ruin other peoples' happiness.

It wasn't just my nerves. There was a problem with bullying by people around us because she was asian. I probably should have taken her elsewhere.

In my mind I wondered: What if she doesn't want me to? That tiny chance of failure was a big discouragement

77 comments! Wow! I'm so touched by everyone's support! I wish I had known about you guys when we were still dating. It's over with this girl. It's been over for a long time. The date was something out of a movie. No, in fact you've never seen a girl so joyful in a date, not even in movies. She was rocking left and right on her chair to the beat of the music where we sat for dinner and was bursting into laughter for no reason at all. I felt so much sexual tension. She gazed at me like she admire…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
