When you grow up, you’ll understand. Young people like yourself cannot possibly fathom experiences they have not witnessed from all sides. That’s not meant to be an insult, it’s just the truth. I can give you a breakdown of the psychology behind why this is bad, but only if you genuinely want to learn. I’m not willing to debate it.

Women have a biological need to procreate with the strongest examples of their species. They prioritize quality over quantity, because one successful encounter means 9 months and 20 years of commitment. Men have a biological urge to spread their seed. They do not carry the child, they have no control over that part of the process, so they have prioritized quantity over quality. (In both scenarios, quality is highly subjective.) Both of these strategies are strongest during peak reproductive year…

Because those people are the type of people who use logic to tackle things they perceive as problems. And when you are solving 1+1=2, the properties of 1 need to be fixed and defined.

I think this was the misunderstanding last time. I don’t waste a bunch of time on those women either. I’m currently going through this with my manager. She is so immature, and jealous, and spiteful. I asked for an opportunity that was promised to me and she canceled the meeting I had set up to discuss it for 4 months. Then she “forgot” my performance raise. So I went above her to her boss and asked for the opportunity, and left her team. Now she won’t speak to me. But I remain nice, I always giv…

You know what though; I think for some women that just join here, the anger is part of the process and is valid. We don’t show up here because we are hurting and frustrated. I think it’s the catalyst for change. But at some point we have to evolve out of anger and bitterness. We have to recognize it doesn’t serve us. We can’t stay stuck there and think our anger is what protects us from being abused. More reason to befriend angry women imo. Show them that boundaries don’t need to be erected with…

That’s a great list! I think maybe we have outgrown the name FDS, since it far exceeds the scope of dating. But this place attracts some of the wrong women who think FDS is about hating men, hating other women (pickmeishas) etc I don’t think that is correct. Hate is never good.

The last pic is what this is all about to me. There are some FDS women who are misguided as well. I posted a comment a few months back about how I deal with jealous insecure women at work and how you should understand that some women have been hurt by other women and be kind to them and show sincerity. I got lambasted and called stupid because “FDS doesn’t cater to insecure women.” I totally disagree. We can work hard to show all women that women are not the enemy. I’m not even single, been marr…

Because having a woman at work or in a social group who feel outcast is not favorable. Especially if she becomes jealous of you. She could begin to adopt the mentality that all “women are bitches I get along with men better”. Then she starts talking/acting/conducting business like one of the guys, discards her femininity, and is just overall difficult to deal with. This is the kinda of woman that makes the men say “women don’t belong in the office they are difficult to deal with”. Worst of all, …

I have been analyzing this problem for 25 years. I think I finally figured it out; I show huge amounts of compassion and interest in them without compromising my boundaries. If there is a new woman on my team I go out of my way to get to know her using a mix of professionalism and sincere friendliness. I keep it light and relatable, and steer clear of topics that may instill bonding but sometimes women regret sharing later (trauma, divorce, therapy etc). I am genuinely interested in other women …

I got perma banned from twox for criticizing a post in another sub about a girl who ate an entire pizza to spite a guy that called her fat. She literally posted the empty pizza box and posted pics of herself in the comments to prove she was not fat. I can’t condone the message that we abuse our bodies and our health to piss off a guy we only went on a few dates with. I took my ban and didn’t even argue.

To be fair, he probably conned her into getting her number until some other pretense and then as he was walking away said “maybe we can get some coffee sometime” and she, not wanting be rude and thinking she’s just exchanging pleasantries, and desperate to get out of the conversation, said “ok sure bye!” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said ok to a man just to get an exit out of a conversation, because he’s pushy, and I’m scared to reject him IRL.

About a year after my husband and I got married, one of his exes who lived in another state messaged me out of nowhere and told me I wasn’t good enough for him. Totally unprovoked. She told me that I wasn’t fit to be their slave. And that my art sucks and I’m a loser bc I chose to stay home with the kids. And how much better than me she was. I still have all those messages. Im still confused.

He’s incredibly supportive of women, I think he just feels this way bc he was raised in Alabama. I’m going to continue to challenge him. Our sons are older. But they actually turned out great. It’s how you raise them. But I completely respect your decision. If my kids said they didn’t want kids, I would be supportive. These are strange times.

My husband and I have this convo all the time. He says “I’m so glad I don’t have girls. I’d have to be over protective”. I tell him no we wouldn’t. Why would we treat a daughter any different? She would have autonomy over her own body, a voice to speak up with, and confidence and independence and all the shit that boys supposedly have. He can’t explain exactly why it’s different. I’m sending this to him.

My degree is in computer forensics. I work in the private sector currently, but when I was in school the scariest thing I learned was that local police forces are understaffed and lack the resources to investigate internet crimes in general. When are we going to realize that sex crimes, child porn, theft, murder, etc all have a digital footprint? I’m really looking forward to gaining the experience necessary to join the ranks in the public sector and start working to fighting back on these issue…

Why not have both? I’m a cyber security professional and a mom to 2 boys. I initially a corrosion analyst then I was a SAHM then I went back to school. The key was my partner. He was always on board with whatever I wanted to do and I had full support.

I was always a black sheep too. Religion was the divide between me and family. Now they are right wing QAnon conspiracy theorists. I find it interesting that they are falling for the same gaslighting that they used on me. We recently had a falling out over politics too. Shame.

Yes. I will say that it was his final work. It is a collection of essays, many written by his colleagues who studied him. The final essay is written by him IIRC. Lucky for you, you can read it for free online. https://antilogicalism.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/man-and-his-symbols.pdf

Yes. You have got to read this book. I learned that some symbols in dreams are universal and some are personal. To decode that dream, ask would yourself what is your relationship to smoking? What’s the first thing that comes to your mind? And explore the idea that smoking is a symbol for that. Same with the concept of addiction. What is your association to that? Explore. Why does this instill fear? I keep a dream journal all called dream moods on my phone and it has a dream dictionary for those …

Depends on how old you are but absolutely. My dad condemned me to hell since I’m not catholic. I no longer care what they think. The only issue is that my independence triggers them and makes them want me in their life even more. It’s pathetic. I forgive them, but I’ll not forget what they did. They kicked me out at 16! I’m a lot happier living to serve my own interests. You will be too.

I don’t recall where I got the book, but my first Jung book was “Man and His Symbols”. When I was introduced to the concept of the subconscious mind, and realizing that there was another part of my brain that was largely in control and working behind the scenes, I was terrified. It scared me. I lost sleep over it. I cried. I struggled with the idea that that there was someone in my brain that I couldn’t control. I tried to explain it to my husband, he thought I was crazy. I wanted to shake him v…

I started that process in my mid 20s after my first divorce. I started reading Carl jung and Joseph Campbell. That stuff changed my life! I estimate it took me 10 years to undo the damage. It’s almost like you have to go back to square 1 and raise yourself.

This extends back to childhood for me. I had parents who, needing to be right in the moment, would go back on their word and gaslight me. I feel like I was conditioned from an early age to accept it.

Thank you! I have been wanting to learn more about this. I have given them the building blocks of intimacy but how do you approach this subject?? I have been in so many relationships where porn has ruined intimacy. I can’t control them but I want them to be informed. I know what I want to say but how to say it? I’m 41 this year. I am married but I lurk here. I’ve been married 3 times. Every man I’ve ever married or dated they have all been trouble. Rich, poor, good looking, ugly, great personality, good sex, best friend, smart, stupid, they have ALL brought issues to the table and tested my patience. They are hard wired to procreate and their self worth is somehow tied up in this primarily. It really undermines them. They claim to be simple but that’s lies. Or he’s a self indulgent child who has no impulse control when it comes to food and figures that satisfying his cookie cravings is paramount to respecting his wife. He operates under the assumption that it’s better to ask for forgiveness (and gaslight) than to beg for permission

I usually choose my decor first then I choose paint. It’s a lot easier to buy a bunch of cool stuff you like and match a color to it vs. finding furniture to match your paint. Unless you go with a neutral, like gray. But then you gotta be careful about lighting bc yellow soft white bulbs will make your walls look French gray and bright white bulbs will make them look blue. The amount of sunlight will change the way gray looks as well!

Woman who is 9/10. Anytime I had a high value partner I always wanted commitment. I wanted the resources that that partner offered plus, their looks to pass on good genes to children.

It was a wild ride. I grew so much and developed so much maturity through it. Some times, a high value man can bring so much good to the table but also a lot of baggage and issues. There’s always a level of narcissism that you have to peel away before you can get the man to be his very best. It works though.

Yes this will be different than the usual answer. So he wasn’t faithful in the beginning. I knew he really liked me though. We lived 6 hours away from each other. He had major walls up, but I played it cool. I already had a kid from a previous marriage. He told me he loved the fact that I was a good mom. He got me pregnant 6 months into it. I respect my husbands assertive nature. I’ve learned how to be assertive by dealing with him. He’s very much of what you would think is an alpha male. He’s good at asserting his dominance and authority. I used to be a doormat and I’m not anymore. I picked up this trait from him. He will fight for what he believes in and stick up for himself. I’m so thankful for him teaching me this skill.

First date. We met online through mutual friends. Instant chemistry. He was a powerful person in our social circle and in his community. He’s my perfect match. It took him a long time to see it. I hate to say this but I used the sexual chemistry to my advantage We’ve been married 10 years, 2 kids, still have crazy chemistry. I feel like that’s the only thing that you can’t conjure up and can’t fix if it’s broken. Sex.

I am tomboyish. I wear black, combat boots, jeans and button down shirts. always have always will. I find femininity in the details of adornment. I wear some small delicate earrings. I wear a few delicate necklaces, or rings. I paint my nails. I dye my hair. I may wear some other accessories like pins or brooches. Think about a woman wearing a men’s suit and tie. Now add some jewelry and a brooch and lip gloss. It just looks so much more femme.

You sound like you are doing great and you have the right attitude. As long as you never make it about gender, no one else will either. Take that to the bank. A real good way to get men to hate you at work is to bring up gender. Like I said I’ve never ever had any direct male colleagues trouble me about being a woman or treat me any different and I’ve never brought it up either. I think these younger women who get into this stuff are challenging the stays quo. They are still in their idealistic …

I work at the college in the forensics lab helping other students (a job I was chosen for based on my merit) and the women who are in my program simply aren’t good enough. I’m an older woman (I’m 40) and I have only ever had jobs in male dominated stem fields. So glad to hear someone else say it: if you are getting hated on at your tech job, it’s not because of your gender. It’s because you aren’t good at your job and shouldn’t be there. But those fragile egos won’t let them see the truth!
