Government subsidized day care/pre-k would allow mom to go back to work, so dad doesn't have to work 80 hour weeks to support everyone. I agree there. Nothing like finding out that infant care will cost more than your mortgage. In the current model, mom stays at home and dad has to work overtime. It's not ideal for either one. Seems damned ideal for mom. Your plan would have to include... incentives... for both parents to work. Otherwise you have the same situation but with a higher tax bill.
