3	How much alimony? While most people interpret California as “lifetime”, it is not. The terminology used is “indefinite”. It could be lifetime. It could be a length of time determined by the agreement between the parties. It could be a length of time determined by the court. Lifetime is not guaranteed. Also, if the receiver gets remarried, the spousal support will usually end. And it is not necessarily a static amount either.
