How do YOU cope with this? Stop thinking of only yourself and start putting your kids first.

Failure of a wifely duty? Wtf. Do you know how common it is to want to keep sexual assault a secret? It’s the norm, not some sign that she’s lying. I think your marriage is over after this.

Acts like a bitch? She is not alone, friend.

People are leaving their MAGA family members in record numbers. OP I don’t think you are compatible.

How much do you have your kid?

I don’t see you offering to be her secretary. Go stand in line at the social security office and DMV. Change over all her accounts. Get to work!

So your motion to reduce wasn’t granted? It might not look good for you to request it again so soon. You can’t just file unlimited motions or it comes off as harassment. Just consult a lawyer before

Use your state’s calculator. How much has her income gone up in the two years? Has yours stayed the same? Has anything else changed?

I learned that the divorce was all her fault.

What were the recordings of exactly? Her being abusive to you or kids?
/r/Divorce_Men24/07/25 08:03 PM

So she wouldn’t be with the kids during this time anyway? But you’re mad about what exactly?

You’ve screwed up pretty bad. Plus, you brought your daughter along for this? Yikes.

Wait, are the vacations happening at the same time? Was she supposed to go on yours with the kids?

Relationships started in infidelity do not last. But honestly, your marriage is unlikely to last too.

Legally that’s her money too. You didn’t “loan” her anything. She used marital funds just like you can.

You have more sympathy for her current partner?

Way to show up for your daughter. I’m sure that sucked for you, but she will remember you were there. I bet she’ll look back at this as an adult and see that you were there for her, and you were the one who handled the divorce more maturely by not jumping into another relationship immediately. This early after the split her boyfriend shouldn’t even be around your daughter. She will probably have some strong feelings about this later.

Wow. What a great father you must be.

Umm, no this is not a thing. Don’t you think every deadbeat dad would just sign away their rights and pay no child support if they could? You need her permission to do that.

Receiving parent picking up is common is parenting plans. What if you didn’t drive the kid home for her and made her pick up?

I think a lot of women don’t want to go through the hassle of changing it again. It’s a bigger pain than most people realize.

Not if they have very different incomes. It’s just numbers plugged into a formula. Should be easy to do online.

I would not spend 3k on a weekend retreat. Nope. Couples therapy can be useful, but I’d recommend you both do individual therapy too. If you’re not sure you want to leave that is.

Abuse is common. I tend to believe it when I hear about it. I wouldn’t just make up another story and believe that to be true like you did just there. That makes no sense at all.

Cool. You don’t believe abuse victims 👍

Are there kids? Because the right thing to do would be to teach them to celebrate family on their birthday. If not, it’s entirely up to you.

My daughter will understand that cheating is wrong. As far as accusations, what do you mean? If she comes to me and says her husband is abusive I will 100% believe her. Obviously.

A lot of men here have an obvious disdain for single mothers…while being single fathers themselves 🤡
/r/Divorce_Men18/01/25 04:38 PM

I mean that’s pretty damning evidence. I agree don’t show your hand. Just go quietly file for divorce once your ducks are in a row
/r/Divorce_Men18/01/25 04:37 PM
1

No, you don’t involve the kids in this. Don’t question them about it and don’t let them see you upset about it. A kid is going to think they did something wrong.
/r/Divorce_Men18/01/25 04:12 PM
1

Only during the marriage. Were you paying the mortgage before marriage? Or was your name on the title before marriage?
/r/Divorce_Men15/01/25 11:02 PM
4

No, you’re not going to be reimbursed for bills paid with marital funds. Half the equity in the house is yours though.
/r/Divorce_Men15/01/25 08:00 PM

Your ex sounds like shit but so do you. Man up and be a father to your kids. That’s messed up.

Take a kid away from their home country and mother without her agreement? Good luck.

Lol at all the baby trapping comments when OP agreed to make a baby. She changed her mind about the move which was maybe a shitty plan she had all along, or maybe their marriage went downhill and she realized it would be stupid to move away from all her support and get trapped in a foreign country, divorced, and alone with a baby. The fact that OP sounds like a shitty guy even is his version of events speaks volumes to me though.
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/24 05:00 PM

He doesn’t need to stay with her. But you don’t abandon your child unless you’re scum.
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/24 04:55 PM
1

So fuck his kid, then? Stay in another country and never see his baby? What kind of trash advice is this?
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/24 04:53 PM
1

Ok, then you decline this “deal” and get 50/50 of your kids.
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/24 01:39 AM
1

She won’t get that if you want 50/50 custody. And you’ll get that if you want it. Is there some reason she’s proposing 6 days a month?
/r/Divorce_Men12/12/24 07:55 PM
2

Who pays for this?
/r/Divorce_Men08/12/24 03:05 AM

I’d pass on your profile in a second
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/24 08:10 PM

Only an asshole if you have kids. Otherwise you’re free to cut her off if you want.
/r/Divorce_Men14/11/24 01:49 PM

Wtf, yes you tell her. What kind of question is that?
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/24 10:06 PM

Don’t pay reimbursement late. That was stupid. You spent 15k over avoiding paying $20? Wtf? Gold star behavior from here on out because you literally can’t afford to screw up like that again. I think you need a new job. Frequent travel while parenting young children doesn’t mesh. It probably worked when you had a partner but it doesn’t anymore. Don’t pick your job over your kids. I’d work at Starbucks before I gave up time with my kids. Plus you’ll pay a ton more in child support if you give up …

Ask your lawyer these questions. Some things will vary by state but the law is exactly the same for men vs women. Support and alimony are just a formula, but things can be negotiated in mediation.

I mean…so is raging at your partner for not having sex with you. It sounds toxic all around.
/r/Divorce_Men09/07/24 04:15 PM

How big of a change in salary are you seeing? Over 10%?

The courts disagree on what?
/r/Divorce_Men29/06/24 06:16 PM

No
/r/Divorce_Men27/06/24 02:04 PM

Love and friendship are intimacy. Do you mean sex? Because you’re not entitled to that. We don’t take vows promising to fuck our partners X number of times per week and you’re never entitled to rage about lack of sex. That’s abuse.
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 02:15 PM
1

Exactly that. He didn’t lost half of his wealth because half was always hers.
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 02:01 PM
2

Both of them are entitled to respect, kindness, love, friendship, shared resources (money earned in a marriage is legally a shared resource no matter who earns it) and shared labor however they chose to divide it. If he’s not happy with any of those things, they should be brought up in therapy. What you don’t do is rage at your partner and act entitled to sex. That’s a quick way to get divorced. And maybe that’s what he wants anyway.
/r/Divorce_Men17/06/24 08:34 PM
-2

You need to stop raging at her and expecting a good marriage. Yes, you’re deserving of kindness but so is she. No, you’re not entitled to sex. You are entitled to leave if you’re not happy.
/r/Divorce_Men17/06/24 05:51 PM

Honest question but were you drunk when you wrote this? Several sentences repeat. If that’s part of your coping mechanism, cut it out now.

I was wondering if there was groping she didn’t like. That’s what comes to mind when I hear she didn’t like how he touched her. And was he yelling? Talking down to her? Name calling? I’d take notice and do a big pause if my partner asked me to do these things differently. But I suspect we aren’t going to get real answers. This post reads very much like “tell me how shitty my wife was” and this board is happy to oblige.
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 02:54 PM
1

I’d snag it and tuck it away somewhere
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 03:18 AM
3

How did she want you to change how you talked to her and touch her? That sentence stands out to me.
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/23 02:52 AM
1

I’m confused why you don’t have to pay alimony if she never worked. Count yourself lucky man.
/r/Divorce_Men30/07/23 01:54 PM
2

Absolutely, history matters. And if OP’s wife left him because she was bored that’s shitty. I just don’t agree with the statement that a good mom bends over backwards to preserve their marriage no matter what.
/r/Divorce_Men29/07/23 07:00 PM
1

Well yeah, that is true if that’s the case here. I could be missing history.
/r/Divorce_Men28/07/23 04:13 PM
-2

So no good moms file for divorce by your logic?
/r/Divorce_Men28/07/23 01:38 AM
3

You guys need to stop living together. What’s the plan there? I’m assuming you didn’t touch her suit and she just misplaced it herself but it’s somehow your fault?I’m familiar with that nonsense.
/r/Divorce_Men03/07/23 11:25 AM
8

I was happier when I was alone.
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/23 09:07 PM
7

I would assume her lawyer has advised her not to move out before she gets her money. That doesn’t seem crazy. You probably wouldn’t leave without your money either, would you?
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/23 05:28 PM
2

Is she on the title of the house? You bought it together? What does your lawyer say? I’m concerned if he’s advising you you’ll get more than 50% equity he might just be taking you for an expensive ride.
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/23 04:24 PM
1

If it’s gone up in value she’s entitled to half of the gain during marriage.
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/23 02:15 AM
8

Lol what did you want her to do??? I’m so confused
/r/Divorce_Men03/06/23 08:49 PM
4

Of course your family is going to take your side in a divorce. Nobody else is inside your marriage to really know what’s going on. Nobody else’s opinions matter at all.
/r/Divorce_Men02/06/23 09:58 PM
1

What does he recommend? I think it will be a victory for you in time when you no longer want her back, or have revenge fantasies. Keep at it man.
/r/Divorce_Men02/06/23 05:48 PM
4

I mean….women who leave their husbands aren’t usually evil people despite what this board would have you believe. It’s hard on everyone. People cry during divorce and that’s not shocking.
/r/Divorce_Men31/05/23 12:43 AM
1

I think you know. If not, read any other thread on this board.
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/23 01:59 AM
4

The hypocrisy of this board amuses me. Yes, OP, get what you’re entitled to.
/r/Divorce_Men20/05/23 06:49 PM
