I'm conflicted. I have a desire for some aspects of those things, but the desire is carnal and for women, the symbolism of a nose ring / tattoo / etc. is almost always "getting themselves back" by fucking some new dude in their life and cheating on an old one. I'd estimate it's probably 60-80% of women that do it this way, but that's just my own stupid bullshit guess. So it's kind of like being turned on by stupidity (which in and of itself can sometimes be a surprise, but it happens, lol).

Living through this right now, can confirm. I'm in about year two after a ten year relationship. It worked.
