She's only making in minimum wage, she can easily apply for bankruptcy. In CA (for example) you have to sell your assets in bankruptcy ONLY IF they are worth more than $600 or so apiece. And that amount is not what she paid for them, it's what they are officially worth right now. Which is probably very little. She can shelter her car up to $5000. And the proceeds are divided among ALL creditors, not just you. Any $$$ she is paying you now will immediately STOP when she files. It will cost her to…

Moderately difficult hiking trail at 10am on the weekend. They will be fit and slim. If no man is with them, then they are single. bar sluts don't even get out of bed before noon on the weekend, much less climb a hill. The only drawback is that they travel in small groups.

He will be all up in your business. Great uncle was all set to help out my dad but wanted to dictate the car he would buy and the house he would live in and that's just for starters. Nope nope nope.

i subscribe because i think guys have some legitimate complaints about society ...but some complaints are not so legitimate, in fact they're ridiculous your wife appears to have her own spending money thats less than mine was at age 12. so youre not just treating her as a child, shes a sub-child

You are arguing & getting worked up about less than a dollar a day. Probably less than what you toss at the homeless guy on the corner. That's right, you're begrudging your wife the spare change that you freely give to a smelly homeless guy. You're being petty. Not a good look for a man.

Sooo...about twice a year your wife has the audacity to spend $100 on herself without your input. To put it in perspective, that's around $20 a month. Less than $1 a day. That bitch.

Assertiveness training. Get some now. In one of these incidents you were literally in the drivers seat. You could simply pull over the car, hand her $20 and say 'here's cabfare' Then LEAVE and stay away until they were gone. Even if it took an hour it would be better than listening to a bunch of abuse. You don't have to engage her, in fact it's better not to. She obviously lives for it. As for suicide threats, they should be taking seriously, which means letting the experts handle it. SOURCE: I …

That's my point...Miranda & her billionaire are equally poor examples of parenthood. You seem to think Miranda is worse, I think she's just the same.

Yet you are the one who thinks parenthood will be different in your special snowflake case and everything will be the same as before, including frequent on-demand sex, just keep up the alpha frame. Feel free to learn the hard way.

I have met very very few divorced fathers who spent much time with their kids, for whatever reason. It tends to be especially true at the top of the ladder, those guys are so focused on their careers and image that they outsource their kids with particular ruthlessness. Don't care if it's 'alpha', it's not admirable.
/r/TheRedPill01/12/13 06:35 PM

OK...never been pregnant myself, but still don't think any amount of alpha-ing up can get rid of morning sickness, fatigue, giant stomach & post pregnancy hormonal crash. Too bad if the guy thinks it's 'bullshit behavior' & personally inconvenient. Sometimes you just have to suck it up.

Rape is just a weak holdover from our evolutionary past when the connection between sex & reproduction had not been made. After that you either stuck around and provided for your offspring or rape-baby was left exposed on a rock to die. If you don't understand that, you've only swallowed half the red pill. The sweet-tasting half.

The unemployment rate is calculated according to how many people are looking for jobs. Kids aren't looking for jobs, retired people arent looking for jobs, stay at home spouses aren't looking for jobs. That's how half the population can be jobless without the unemployment rate being 50%

Funny how you just make up shit and claim I said it. He's looking at it from perspective of someone dealing with married people, which first of all doesn't cover all cheating. But when there is a marriage I've noticed when a man cheats the woman will file for divorce & let everyone know why. When the woman cheats she's still the one to file for divorce, she just doesn't mention the real reason. But whenever the guy mopes around about how quickly she moved on I'm usually thinking - yeah, she move…
/r/MensRights24/06/13 01:07 AM

And those single women on the side...do you think mr. married is their only guy? Well, I suppose technically it's not cheating to cheat on a cheater... I'm sure more men visit prostitutes than women, but doubt it's enough to skew the numbers substantially.
/r/MensRights23/06/13 09:51 PM

Unmarried is not quite the same as 'not in a relationship'...be that as it may, it's been my observation that men & women cheat equally but men try to hang on to both women while the women just move on.

I don't understand your question. Is this a hospital bill you're talking about? They can't put you in jail for a debt and pretty sure it's illegal to threaten it. If they won't be reasonable and the bill is huge, consider filing for bankruptcy. But they should be reasonable given your circumstances. My ER bill was reduced by 25% if I paid in full within 4 months and that was just for the asking, not because of any circumstances. If this is a child support debt then get a lawyer, bankruptcy won't…

Unless you are independently wealthy you ARE pretty much forced to work. And work with pretentious bigots and assholes too, because there's a certain percentage of those in the world. However we have rules and laws to keep those people from interfering with other people doing their work because that's the way it should be. Didn't say it was you that was persecuting her for reporting the incident...didn't mean to imply that. Anyway I looked very hard and saw only one woman in that photo she tweeted, but possible the 20% were all sitting together outside the frame where they wouldn't have to hear any freakin dongle jokes. Mr bigmouth was the one NOT looking at the camera BTW. He was the one almost directly behind her. Of course he knew she was there - how could he possibly miss that giant fuzzy fro of hers!?!

Marriage is about sharing. In the case of finances it is legally enforced - which means not just sharing the assets accrued during the marriage but also the debts. If you're not prepared for that you shouldn't get married. Period. I'll overlook that being a post-marital spinster is akin to being a post-coital virgin, and just say that every woman knows that women outlive men. So married or not married, cohabiting or not cohabiting we will almost certainly be alone in our old age. Our time is better spent increasing the lifespan of males than hanging on to a hopeless relationship.

Also you should be able to get some help with school expense, although be cautious about student loans. It is possible to work part time and go to school (I did). Sorry but you need a lawyer and you need to pay $300 for that advice if necessary. if you screw up that 'simple wording of a single paragrph' you can mess up both your lives for some time to come. Like until the kids are 18. This is no job for amateurs. I can understand why the lawyer doesn't want to represent you both. So go alone but get it done.
/r/MensRights26/09/12 03:07 PM

I strongly suggest you pay for an hour or two of legal advice. Since you have no income you might even be able to get it for free. Also if you call your bar association you can get a referral for $50 or so for up to an hour initial consultation. The state is not going to support your children without ensuring the other parent is paying their share. Unemployment comes with far fewer strings, can you withdraw your application and apply for that instead?

I have long thought that men are disproportionally affected by custody issues, military issues, lack of social supports & the disgraceful prison industrial complex in the US. I should not be on a jury certainly, and indeed never am, due mainly to law enforcement personel in the family. Thanks to them I know there are a lot more trusting victims then there are falsely accused. It's all very well for you to risk sacrificing yourself to your own high mindedness. Sacrificing your wife is a bit much tho. She gets to make her own judgements about who's safe and who's not.
/r/MensRights13/09/12 12:25 AM

The point of court systems is to punish crime The point of being judgmental ( using your facility of judgement!) is to protect yourself as best you can. In your personal life you are not putting people in jail or the electric chair. You are avoiding being a victim of your own niceness by avoiding known problems. But don't let me stop you! Sometimes the only way to learn is the hard way.
/r/MensRights13/09/12 12:05 AM

Sorry, but the presumption of innocence belongs in a court of law, not your personal life. If your accountant is charged with embezzlement don't give them control of your money. If your babysitter is charged with child abuse don't let them watch your children. If your surgeon is charged with malpractice get another doctor. Even if nothing's been proved yet. Sure, half the time there was smoke, no fire. But Russian roulette has better odds than that.

I cannot understand how his attorneys advised him to cop a plea when it appears there was no physical evidence. ( nothing like intercourse occurred, she said)! In general they should be prosecuted. In the Brian Banks case she was a juvenile when she lied so would get the punishment of a juvenile. A DNA exoneration is NOT proof of someone lying, its proof that someone was wrong and being wrong is not illegal. As I mentioned I saw the photo of one exonerated guy, the photo of the actual rapist and that guy could have been his twin (although they were not related). /r/MensRights07/09/12 02:47 PM

I don't consider proving intent 'ludicrous'. You can be wrong without doing anything illegal - like accusing someone's identical twin brother. In fact there was a guy exonerated of rape a few years ago - thanks to DNA testing now being available - and I looked at his picture and the guilty party's picture and thought 'yeah I would have identified him too!'. They looked remarkably alike. Proving what's in someone's evil mind is near to impossible unless they cooperate.
/r/MensRights07/09/12 01:55 AM

I must have missed the current rape law that insinuated ALL men are rapists ( although I suspect there are some that suggest ONLY men are rapists, which is WRONG) Are you in the US? Because around here it is not enough that a statement not be true, you have to PROVE they know they lied, a notoriously tricky thing to accomplish. But yes people who maliciously allege horrible things need to answer for it.

It was up at the top http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_accusation_of_rape#Kanin.27s_report It's Wikipedia - I went direct to the Kanin critique, but scroll up & down to see FBI stuff. /r/MensRights06/09/12 09:46 PM

Yes, you can still apply in person. Few bother. And no, I am not oversimplifying. Unless your employer objects you get unemployment automatically. If they object there will be a phone hearing, but likely you will win. In fact you can get fired and still get unemployment here. You think someone is reviewing the FIRST NAMES? Um. No.
/r/MensRights06/09/12 07:07 PM

So if you go off the assumption that 'women who disagree with me are dishonest' then you can't be helped. So perhaps you ARE defective.
/r/MensRights06/09/12 07:02 PM
0

I gave the link, I am not going to read it to you too. If you draw different conclusions, fine. I feel the 8% number is a bit high as unfounded <> false. And I don't agree that the FBI numbers are somehow 'less conclusive'. The crimes or lack thereof were investigated. That's the number they came up with, while having no ax to grind about how women are just naturally liars.
/r/MensRights06/09/12 07:00 PM

Most people would regard 'numbers' as evidence. And I go by the FBI numbers.
/r/MensRights06/09/12 05:51 PM

I'm telling you that, not alleging you said that. If people consistently disagree with you on a topic, consider that you might be the one who is off-kilter. You might be, you might not be, but at least consider it before resorting to 'dishonest lying feminist bitch' accusations.
/r/MensRights06/09/12 05:43 PM

/r/MensRights06/09/12 05:01 PM

/r/MensRights06/09/12 04:50 PM
1

It's CA. Basically if you apply, you get it. Even if the employer disputes you usually get it. After all you pay for it!! It's deducted from your paycheck. I apply online, the computer doesnt see my low neckline and magnificent breasts.
/r/MensRights06/09/12 04:40 PM

US studies put it 3-8%, I would put it at 5% judging by percentage of sociopaths in the population. So if you think... say 20%...then we disagree by 15%. you disagree with OP by 30%. And therefore I was going to castigate you for choosing to argue with me instead of OP, but I see you are disputing with him too so never mind.

Yes, i see that having had his slapping-to-bleeding outburst validated as not child abuse (would that be systemic lenience?) he then decided not to cooperate with requirements for unsupervised visitation, so he didn't get it. Because that's how it works. And that's how it should work. I see no injustice here. Women getting away with killing their kids IS an injustice, on the other hand.

Read ALL my comments please and don't leave out the punctuation. Scary but not real? See - the question mark MEANS something. It means I have my doubts. But as I said before...it's not impossible.

I specifically said the story was questionable but still possible. One detail I knew from personal experience wasn't true, since I contract in IT. I have gotten unemployment in CA from working out of state. Another questionable item is the lifelong alimony, nobody I know in CA has gotten that - the standard is half the length of the marriage. On the other hand it is Truckee. I tried to check the case but their server is down.

In that case you would end up with a court appointed attorney or if personal injury they would do contingency. Just do a google search or ask any attorney you know ( I've got one in the family, which is why I ALWAYS get competent advice AND FOLLOW IT. your best bet is to stay out of court BTW and if the lawyer tells you that upfront they're honest) this is in the US. Doctors are similar - had to once put my foot down with one who started a course of treatment then tried to terminate NOT because …

You've got to have a reason and it better be a damn good reason. 'My client ran out of money' is not generally sufficient - 'my client is not following my advice' will work, but they still have to have enough time to get another attorney. Of course if the court itself is corrupt all bets are off. There was an instance of this uncovered in the very county I live in a few years ago, so I won't say it never happens. EDIT and I personally would not want a reluctant attorney any more than a reluctant…

This is one reason why I question your story. Lawyers do not get to take all your money, then terminate you just before trial. But with Truckee being basically the ass-end of the universe it's not impossible. Tried to look up your case but the server is down. Since you are still paying alimony I would suggest calling your bar association for a referral and getting an initial consultation for $50. I doubt you will get any compensation for past events but you might get off the hook for future paym…

Since I live in CA I have doubts about much of your story, however I will say that this just confirms the proper legal representation is critical and however expensive, always costs less than going without it. Probably bankruptcy would have been a good option for you - it doesn't get you out from under alimony/child support but all the other debts could have been wiped out.
/r/MensRights05/09/12 04:12 PM
4

Indeed. I live in CA and while Truckee is indeed a god-forsaken backwater, even there spousal support should go on for only half the length of the marriage. You DO get unemployment even if the work was out of state and I know that because I have gotten it! And it puzzles me how he had to sell his car for attorney fees while simultaneously having no attorney.

Bullshit or not, the guy specifically said he paid for dinner. Unless he took her to chuck-e-cheese it would cost $100 in any large metro area. And spending $50 to look nice for someone who might be the love of your life is nothing outrageous - frankly it's something a lot of GUYS might consider doing. And I can well believe a Canadian thinks women's nails just naturally come in Mandarin Red. You still wear socks with sandals, doncha?
/r/MensRights04/09/12 01:08 AM

Dates where the guy picks you up in his car to take you out to dinner are not 'random dates'. Dates where you hop on public transportation to meet for a quick drink or coffee downtown and split the check are 'random dates' The guy is almost certainly spending over $100, the least a woman could do is tidy herself up for it. Investments in personal grooming are not necessarily frivolous btw and THAT is a fact. Often in order to better yourself you have to look the part.

Look up the definition of assault...you don't even have to touch -- just threatening force can be an assault. You are on murky ground here and escalating things won't help your patients. If you want to sue, plonk down $50 for an initial consultation to get a clear idea of your chances in court (close to zero, but don't take my word for it)

10 to 1 it is part of their written job duties and if so you can't blame them for following them ( even if illegal), blame their supervisors and yours for not clearing this up promptly.
/r/MensRights02/09/12 11:47 PM

Which is why your BOSS should be dealing with this. Because if the 'child safety officers' have the power of social workers or the parents have signed some sort of paper allowing this then YOU are in the wrong. I cannot understand a competent supervisor allowing this situation to continue, especially with the 'huge falling out'. As for what the police will do - $10 says they will call another ambulance and arrest the whole pack of you if physical confrontaion occurs. Yes, they can do that.
/r/MensRights02/09/12 11:30 PM

Since this is the 4th incident it sounds like the child safety officer job rules are conflicting with your own job rules. This is not an issue for you, but for your BOSS, and he / she needs to get on it NOW, before a really serious incident happens, with say... thrown punches, police called, or kid bleeding out as you guys argue.

Fair enough, but consider A) the $50 manicure she may have gotten for the date. I have wrecked more than one perfect nail on an unfamiliar car door. That was actually very informative. However as a woman in a high-paying male dominated profession I think he is confusing the behavior of 'all women' with that of 'women with crappy jobs or no job'. At the last holiday party I chatted with the wives of a couple of the senior partners (since we were almost the only women there). I quickly realized there was an unbridgeable gulf in the way we dealt with the world. They had married well and in their minds they had 'won'.

Don't hate yourself, hate your situation! Your family is trying to make their problems your problems and you are feeling too much guilt because of it. They're not your problems! I'm more concerned about whether 'Earl' missed it. Or the potential 'Earls' reading the email and thinking 'wow, what a great idea!' without knowing the whole picture. /r/MensRights24/07/12 12:19 AM

Ok, let's try this. Her: here is my phone number Him: show me your boobies See how that went from a to z without anything in between? That is basically how this went down and if you can't see it's inappropriate then truly there is nothing more to say!
/r/MensRights23/07/12 08:46 PM
-2

So most women do not see it that way, and you will get the 'creep' reaction if you go from A to Z without navigating the steps in between. That's what I'm doing on this forum. Letting you know what works and what doesn't. If men should not subordinate to women, don't expect that we will change our expectations on mens account either.
/r/MensRights23/07/12 08:27 PM

But let's say you knew nothing of the guys gayness when you met. Then because you were enjoying his company so much you gave him your number and he went from step A to step Z in one fell swoop. You can always call your local bar association and get a referral for about $50 or less. You'll get an hour of invaluable advice. And at least you'll know what you're getting into. Oh good lord, if he thinks she might kill him and still intends to marry her, then he has even more problems than I thought! I always advise people to ask an attorney. She did and she got her answer. Maybe a second opinion would be different, but I doubt it. Consider, 1/50 of the assets means if he has, say, a million dollars the she would get 20 thousand to start her new life if he decided to get a fresher 26 yr old after 20 years -which is not even enough to buy a Prius except it's spread out over 10 years so not even enough to buy the groceries. Your dad needs to talk to a lawyer to determine the best course of action (which may or may not be further court action). Who said anything about 'forcing' men? Maybe exposing them (and everyone) to the field with a psychology requirement for graduation will cause some to realize they have an interest and a talent for it. That what happened with me & computer science anyway. And I've been to several therapists both male and female and never noticed a feminist slant. I can see how I would not want to be the woman who had to be told to pull her own weight! I would immediately become defensive, especially if I was not pulling my own weight.

One of those, yes. But 'real women can balance a checkbook' or something else that supposedly only men do I would not find so sexist. I do see your point, maybe article did not have the best wording, but I think the author trying to say that asking for help does not make one less of a man and that is true.

Like looking pretty is easy???? Ha, if only you knew. The pain! And the expense! The time! Anyway if you are only approaching 'pretty' girls that might be part of your problem ( if your standard for 'pretty' is high). Not that your standards should be different, but if only 1 in 100 women meets them, well the numbers are working against you, not society.

Yes, people don't realize finding the right therapist is almost as hard as finding your perfect mate. At least you knew it was THEM not YOU. A lot of people just give up.

By doing the exact same thing as the OP? Focusing on some female talking instead of the actual issue? Which is lack of male therapists, remember? Did you read the other post on this topic? Basically the same info, except the title did not contain the 'F' word. And mostly substantive comments. Unlike here.
/r/MensRights03/07/12 11:59 PM

Where is the victimhood? She doesn't care what you think! You guys are victimizing YOURSELVES by getting all caught up in 'the evil feminist is shaming men waah waah' conversation when there's a serious issue here around the lack of male therapists.

If you are 18 or older just get a male therapist, who cares if it's not PC. If you're not an adult and can't choose for yourself try the 'I just don't feel comfortable discussing some issues with a woman' angle and try to look abashed. It might work ( or could turn into another 'issue' you need to work on -gaagh!) but it's important you have a therapist you feel comfortable with.
/r/MensRights03/07/12 11:09 PM
-1

Like it or not, the author's point that more male therapists are needed is perfectly valid. Doesn't matter if they are male, female, feminist, a secret Muslim terrorist or that they phrased it in a grating way. The OP is focusing on something unimportant. Like many here. I wonder if the other thread is veering off course too.
/r/MensRights03/07/12 11:03 PM

Altho female I did once seek out a male therapist for a 'different perspective'. So not THAT hard to find one. Guy was so obnoxious that I had a major insight in just 4 sessions because I wanted so badly to terminate therapy and get away from his smirking condescension! So in a weird way it all worked out.
/r/MensRights03/07/12 07:27 PM

She was talking about her vagina in one article I read, so pretty sure female? Unless it was a Virtual vagina or something. But yes, you're right, feminist was the problem to OP. Same point tho...need for more male therapists is valid no matter who's pointing it out!
/r/MensRights03/07/12 07:22 PM

Oh look, a woman with a good point to make about men and therapy. Immediately dismissed because she is female. Wonder if the same thing will happen to the other post with same topic on this subreddit...that was co-authored by a man. Hmmm...is somebody doing an experiment?

Well Ross, looks like your wife doesn't agree it's all fixable, or she wouldn't have taken your kid and fled the country (with the courts permission, I might add). If a sheriff goes around bruising their spouse in front of their son he can expect to lose his job, the same as if he had lit up a joint under similar circumstances. Both are against the law, the law you swore to uphold. I'm not picturing a reconciliation, nor do I see a continued career in law enforcement. And it's not anyones fault …

Thanks for the rant, but I'm fine with my worldview and don't plan on changing it. Although you have mistaken assumptions about my 'ideology', I see no point in clarifying because I really don't care. I'm not trying to win a contest about whether your problems are worse than mine. I have been in this situation (I'm female, and it was a male doing the harassing btw). I personally would not get HR involved at this point, but that's your call. Don't have negative feelings about black people but would draw the line between sopping racial job discrimination and stopping racial friend choices In my personal life I behave this way toward people who want to 'save' me from my sinful ways and I do it unequivocally.

So you are aware that most people are emotivists with strong feeling about sexual preferences, yet see no 'justification' there for adjusting initiator behavior in line with that?
/r/MensRights13/06/12 08:15 PM
0

Sexual behavior is not 'impersonal' so good luck with that! My personal feeling are actually pretty typical. Everything I don't prefer is icky, which is how most people feel - or this subject would not come up again and again on this sub reddit. So my answer does give a general rule, and per my own replies, I accept that you don't like it! But that doesn't change my answer.
/r/MensRights13/06/12 06:54 PM
-1

The problem is that the target and initiator have different ideas about what is appropriate, but no insight as to why that might be. I offered insight (see 'handy vagina' post' for example) Just as you and i have a different ideas about what is 'on topic' and 'what we have been talking about'.
/r/MensRights13/06/12 06:25 PM
-1

Let me make my point as clearly as I can. The target does not get to control the initiator's approach The initiator does not get to control the targets response See how it works? People can take onelorosgrip's excellent advice on how to initiate or they can just complain that their targets don't react the way they want them to, not change anything they're doing and imagine the results will be different this time.

The couple made her uncomfortable, she made them uncomfortable right back. But my sister has actually been in this situation in a social setting and handled it differently. She just told the wife she was a brainwashed twit and that was the end of it. Why would i care about your evaluation of me? You obviously have a lot of preconceptions about women that you cling to with a deathlike grip to avoid grappling with the real person. Ps. She likes you. She likes your cat. But she doesn't want to fuck either of you, because that's not how it works.
/r/MensRights12/06/12 03:08 PM

Yet of the two of us I suspect I'm the only married one. So I probably do know something about the male mind. I do not think men and women are exactly the same, but I do think there's a male rationalization hamster that says 'the reason women don't stay with me or even come near me is because they are irrational, flighty, gold-digging bitches, why it certainly couldn't have anything to do with me, my attitude, or my choices in females'
/r/MensRights12/06/12 02:49 PM
1

You said that sex causes a woman to bond. I said it can just as easily cause a woman to flee. That would be the opposite of what you said. If you persist with the attitude that women are flighty superficial creatures who lack introspective abilities and only after money then you will attract women who'll put up with that attitude and soon your relationships will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
/r/MensRights12/06/12 02:35 PM

First of all you are lecturing a woman about what women are like. And most of us are not like that! Sleeping with a guy is just as likely to cause a woman to vanish from the radar and immediately change her cell phone number. Yes men are more likely to stay with their SO when they are cheating because they believe their wife will put up with it. Then they are shocked when divorce papers are served. I've seen it time and again.
/r/MensRights12/06/12 01:47 PM

Normal women are NOT like that, I assure you. Young girls (20 and under) tend not to know what they want and may bounce from boyfriend to boyfriend, but I've know guys like that too. Now I have known hypergamous women, since my sister flies in higher social circles than I do. They are easily recognized by their flawless appearance, lack of a real job and string of former husbands each richer (and older) than the last. But this is a tiny number compared to most of my friends and coworkers. Most w…

And that would be part of why I frequently land in positions of responsibility. Do you have a real job in IT? Because you have NO CLUE what you are talking about. Turning out a decent bit of code requires a good deal of interaction with your users, analysts and testers. There is often a not too subtle denigration of females from a little pack of self entitled males (not all of them, just an annoying few) which I'm not shy about shutting down. Gotten a few rude comments growing up 'look, it's the woman's basketball team!' but lucky for us we turned out pretty attractive 'look, it's the Victoria's Secret models!' so was not too traumatic. I prefer short guys - they are more energetic and have a better sense of humor. Also early on I realized that if I was to marry someone taller than me there were like only 6 guys in the county that qualified and one of them was my dad. I'm almost 4 inches …

Bullshit. I can lift 50 pounds. Those female TSA agents you see at the airport can lift 80 pounds, just like the men and had to prove it to get the job (I fly a lot and refuse to go thru the bug-zapper, so have a lot of conversations with TSA gals) so your 'simple biological reality' is a crock. I am childless and will likely remain so, however maternity leave is the law in the US, so there is 'something wrong' with not hiring presumably fertile women - it's illegal! It is considered no differen…

No, I am saying that groups tend to reject those who look different and people avoid groups that they don't look like they fit in. It's often not even conscious. But it's stupid to waste the talents of people who don't fit the 'average'. Talent is by definition not average. It was decades ago but I have been turned down for jobs because 'we only have married men up here' 'women can't lift 50 pounds' 'you'll just get pregnant and leave' 'it's too hot in the dishwashing room for young ladies' etc …

You think it's an accurate description of most women? Hang out with a better class of female, dude! I really think that one visually identifiable group of people can start to dominate a profession and push out all others. How else to explain the predominance of Vietnamese manicurists and black TSA agents? Maybe Vietnamese females with their tiny little deft hands have an advantage in giving manicures but ONLY them? Not possible!

Here's what you should say - 'the only way to get out of a speeding ticket is to contest it in court and pray the cop doesn't show up. Your chances are about 50/50 of that happening. Just be sure you have some kind of story if he does show up, not that you can win, but judges REALLY don't like it if you are obviously wasting their time.'

As a female in IT I have to say that the last thing I thought of studying was anything to do with computers. It just sounded so boring, even though I was into the math & sciences. Then one semester I had to fill in some credits and took an introductory course & the rest is history. So yes I think everyone (not just females) should be forcibly exposed to a variety of subjects. One semester won't kill you and you never know what you will discover a talent for. Ps. My sister took a shop class, but …

One hour with an attorney would tell you what you need to know about your options. It should cost no more than $300 and if you call your local BAR association for a referral than $50. Mind you, your options may turn out to be few and costly but at least you will know. Since there are two states involved you may need to get an opinion in both states. Women tend to blame men and men tend to blame women. Nothing remarkable about that. People tend to blame everyone but themselves but part of growing up is taking a good hard look in the mirror and asking 'how am I contributing to this situation'? I would only worry about marrying the wrong person if I were independently wealthy (attracts the leeches) or very young (under 20). And avoid the substance abusers needless to say!
/r/MensRights07/06/12 02:56 PM

I pretty much disagree with both. If you are in love and bonded with your partner there is no 'better one'. Brad Pitt could make a play for me and I would just yawn. Well, snap a photo and then yawn. And the women I know who became unhappy tried hard to make things work, but it takes two to tango and if the guy decided it was totally her problem then yeah, the relationship was over. If you could call it a relationship.

Are you saying most divorces are frivolous on the basis of no evidence at all? Even anecdotal?
/r/MensRights07/06/12 02:13 PM
1

Yes, I am really going to tell you that frivolous divorce is not a big problem. Although I know a number of divorced guys who thought their drinking, whoring around and bullying behavior were no big deal and their wives should just put up with it in the name of 'love'. Most are still convinced they were 'frivolously' divorced, but really things could have turned out differently if they had made the slightest effort.

Good lord, if that's what you think all women are like then I take it all back. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy! A few months of living with that attitude would cause any woman to flee, no matter how besotted.

Because it is wrong to cheat yourself out of an important part of life because of fear. I'm not saying love isn't ever painful, I was hurt a few times myself, but even babies fall flat on their faces in order to learn to walk. It's part of life.
/r/MensRights07/06/12 02:09 AM

Well, to jump in here with anecdotal evidence, I have noticed that most divorces I'm aware of were initiated by the woman. But thats only because the guy had checked out long before with girlfriends on the side or vanishing for weeklong sexcations in thailand, but was fine with keeping the wifey around for doing the laundry and raising the kids.

Well if she thinks porn is degrading to women I can't imagine why she picked up '50 Shades of Gray'. The whole point of that book was the degradation of a woman! Normally I would suggest a few choice bits for you to read aloud to her and ask questions about, but a boy of your tender years should not be exposed to the all-too-vivid sexual imaginings of menopausal ladies. Who write badly.

Got it. However if these gals then went and remarried a lower-paid man it's STILL not hypergamy. We are missing some information here. For the record I do believe a significant proportion of women try to marry up, it's just that I don't think the situation is a dire as some guys make it out to be, especially these days.

Both my sisters had perfectly healthy kids in their late thirties as might be expected of women whose grandmothers both produced their last of many kids in their mid-forties. So do your research and find a woman with a good genetic history. And the reason a homely older woman is single is because she's homely. Men are very visual and it limits them.

As a fairly attractive female with a somewhat aggressive (masculine) personality I don't think that's true. I can act however I please and men still find me attractive as long as I wear the miniskirt and high heels. Looks matter more than 'femininity'.
/r/MensRights05/06/12 06:52 PM

That is not what the article says actually. And men may like the contract you talk about but most women don't, thus feminism. Personally I would like to be the captain and bring home the bacon - who wouldn't? but that's not how relationships usually work.

Take some of that money & get to a lawyer to see about protecting it!!! In CA inheritances are not part of community property Anyway as long as you don't co-mingle funds. While all women are not out to take advantage of you, money does bring out the worst in some people. In CA if you wait until she has incurred the debt THEN marry her, you are not responsible for the debt. As a married woman in CA I am pretty sure about this, but plonk down $50 for an initial consultation with an attorney if you want to be absolutely sure!

Excellent, especially if you tried the coping strategies the therapist recommended. So now that you have chosen to reveal some salient facts I'm afraid the answer is obvious. Time to chose divorce or years of misery with a woman you can't get along with if only for the sake of your children. Because there is no magic pill to change her back into the woman you loved.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 04:04 PM

You do realize that at this point your only credible course of action is to pick up the phone and make an appointment with a relationship counselor? /r/MensRights18/05/12 03:16 PM

I'm assuming someone who hasn't been to a therapist after 3 years of problems is resistant, yes.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 02:44 PM

Your resistance to going to counseling BY YOURSELF to whomever you want to speaks volumes about where the problem lies. Many many people have started out going to marriage counselors alone. You have your children to consider.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 01:45 PM

And yet, somehow, he hasn't managed to actually get to a therapist. So looks like he's not willing to me.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 01:37 AM

It would be a conflict of interest for a relative to counsel you. No reputable therapist would do it and her grandparents should know that. You can go alone to a counselor of your choice - having to go alone to marriage couseling is not a good sign, but it could give you some perspective / coping strategies.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 01:26 AM
-4

I understand that you are unwilling to budge and unwilling to see a therapist. And she is the same. That road ends in divorce. Do you understand that refusal to get help likely means the end of your marriage? Your choice. And your wife's.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 01:16 AM
1

Actually some of the other posters had different ideas. But those solutions are not as important as marriage counseling. Either the 'stubborness' problem is of less than 9 months standing in which case things might be better once someone is no longer pregnant.....or the OP had another kid while in a relationship he was have serious doubts about. Which screams 'needs counseling' to me.
/r/MensRights18/05/12 01:05 AM

Nope, sorry it isn't. They have a conflict and there is no right answer and no one wants to compromise. That's the thing about relationships. You have to compromise. If you won't, don't expect the relationship to continue.

That's sort of what feminism is. Growing up I was constantly berated to act nice, dress pretty, pipe down etc and not assert myself in any way. That's how all the females were expected to behave in my miserable Midwest hometown. My mom insisted I stick up for myself - she didn't call it 'getting in touch with my masculine side' but that's one way to think about it.

Talk to a lawyer. Now that everybody has their own stuff she'll probably just drop it, but if there's going to be a hearing for a permanent order you'll need to defend yourself. Doubt judge would grant it since no threats, prior problems etc, but if you don't show up it could be a done deal.

Paternity fraud predates feminism by a bajillion years. Reliable DNA testing has improved the situation - so things are better than they used to be FOR MEN on this front. I am unaware of any statistics on 'unfulfilled' women divorcing. Most of the women I know who divorced did so because their husbands wanted them to stay in the housekeeper/mommy role while they had girlfriends on the side or simply disappeared for weeks at a time pursuing their own interests. Although, yeah, that would be prett…

Apparently women diagree - an empty marriage is not 'better' than none. Certainly men want what they want, and women who want to pair up should have a goal of meeting someone by 35 or even younger if they want a family (fertility being what it is). But instead of lowering their sights they should expand their search - getting into more social activities that increase their chances of meeting the right guy. And going alone...nothing cuts down your chances more than traveling in a pack of chatteri…
/r/MensRights25/04/12 08:07 PM

Sorry guys, just not following the logic of why a young woman should 'settle' for a guy that's doesn't thrill her - after all once he hits 35 he'll wake up, realize he could do better and dump her on her ass. So she gets to spend middle age alone anyway, after having wasted her youth on a boring dude she didn't really care for.
/r/MensRights25/04/12 07:22 PM

Paternity fraud is all but impossible now thanks to DNA testing - an improvement over the past. I'm not clear why child support is a bad thing, but if women can now escape miserable marriages because of feminism then good job feminism! The drugging of boys ( and everyone else) is due to corporate interests much like the prison slave labor complex and the endless war machine. We have many divides, not just a gender divide - who does that benefit? I will grant you men should have more custody righ…

I do think things are dysfunctional, but more a result of the squeeze on middle class. Guys can't get jobs, women can get social support if they are mothers, even if they can't get jobs. Guess what happens. Feminism didn't do that. Lack of decent jobs did.

Dude, I have been a third world cross - cultural marriage for 15+ years. Weve had our moments, but nothing to do with short fuses. Guys who immigrate are half the time totally unprepared for western females, other half relieved to have a woman who's not a manipulative, dead-weight, baby machine. If you can't find a woman who'll put up with you it's not feminism's fault, it's YOURS.
/r/MensRights24/04/12 08:38 PM

Certainly cross cultural marriages have their pitfalls. Still, the numbers are in favor of females especially in the prime mating years, where it's better than that 1% differential. Far fewer women come from those cultures to study, but if you are looking for a high quality non-western woman you could always start there yourself.

Wikipedia disagrees http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_sex_ratio I think everyone is aware that the two most populous countries, china & India, have extremely skewed gender ratios. No need for sex tourism, due to excellent quality of US higher education high quality guys come here for school. Don't even know why you jumped to the conclusion I was advocating sex tourism. I forgot to add that the bitter dudes will die off as well. You ARE aware that the US is only a tiny fraction of the world and that thanks to sex selection males are a worldwide majority? Women who think outside the box will have no problem finding stable mates. It's a numbers game.

Looks like only passionate risk-taking guys will produce the next generation, while the cold timid men will slowly die out. Ps. It was actually contraception that changed things - as soon as it became available the percentage of mothers slowly dropped from over 90% to around 55%. seems like a lot of women don't think the child support deal is really all that great an option.

Where in the article does it say she's leaving 30 minutes early? She's got a hard cutoff time for leaving, but if she gets in at 7:00 am she's leaving 2 HOURS LATE. Seeing as she made it to COO (not CEO, c'mon, they made a movie about that guy) that seems likelier. Get into IT at a somewhat lower level and while you may show up only once a WEEK, you will be putting in massive hours from home. ASK ME HOW I KNOW.

Most of the time when people complain they don't have enough money it's because they aren't putting enough effort into it. Just spend less than you make and get two jobs if you have to. Anyone who says otherwise is just making excuses.

Much easier to lose weight? Ha! Spoken like a man. Thank god I have never been fat because I cannot even lose 5 pounds and can't imagine having to lose 50. /r/MensRights11/04/12 03:37 AM

A relationship means you (both parties) will be doing more than your fair share at times. So don't be fooled. The prom is a setup to see if you will bother to go the extra mile even one time without whining about how 'unfair' it is. Or try to weasel around it by comparing women to prostitutes (always a classy move) If you guys don't have a similar test for women is that our fault?
/r/MensRights11/04/12 03:24 AM

What is illogical about a woman bluntly telling a guy how his date will view cost cutting tactics on that one particular night? You say youdon't want a 'princess' who likes being treated special now and then - so great! You're on the right path. But I don't sense it's the path he wants to be on.

As a female I thought I'd better let him know what his girlfriend will be thinking of him, since you guys clearly have no clue. This is not the 15th movie date or something at which point a normal woman would be paying her share. No, this is the PROM, the only one she'll have. So deal with the female viewpoint or deal with the consequences, but don't say you weren't warned!

Actually I was trying to paint street stalkers as guys who never look in a mirror to determine the reason their lives are so woman-deprived. Not that it applies only to street stalkers. And I didn't asked what you would do if you were propositioned by a gay guy, I asked what you would do if you were followed persistentlyaround a deserted area by a guy wanting a date. It seemed a simple question and yet you won't answer it. Is that because it happened and you punched him in the nose? For his triv…

How is theoretically putting you in exactly her situation 'stretching things'? I ask again, what would you do if some guy persistently followed you around a deserted parking lot asking for a date? I'm somehow thinking you would not just shrug it off. And I read the article twice - please point out the paragraph where she asked a man to step in and deal with this on her behalf. She expressed her opinion about the behavior, that's it. And I'm sure the guy in the corvette drove off thinking 'damn f…

And if he had followed you around a deserted parking lot persistently asking for a date would he have gotten his fight? Or would you figure your feelings about the matter were unimportant and just get over it?

So you go into a secluded area fully expecting to meet men you don't even know and wave your completely unclothed penis around and then claim you aren't 'asking for it'

Right..so guys, when you go into the men's room and the man next to you says 'id pay to suck on that, sweet pea' you'd be all fine with it because obviously you had it on display. After all if you didn't love the attention you could just have gone into a stall.

But....aren't you supposed to be on the SAME team? What happens when you punch a teammate? Don't you become the ex-teammate?

You do realize that the cheapest option would be for you lonesome dudes to just do each other, right? It would totally cover all 11 points, well, #7 would be irrelevant and a call to your mom could take care of #4. Just a thought...

After 9 years I suspect the statute of limitations has run out anyway. If not, since the woman was 11 at the time she would be tried and punished as the 11 year old she was, although she would serve the time at an adult facility. If it came to that. Which it wouldn't, because when 11 year olds tell horrible nasty lies we send them to a therapist, not to jail.

My mom said pretty much the same thing to me at the same age. Well, she couldn't tell me to 'man up' since I am female, but she said & I quote "stop sniveling! You're weak & pathetic and will never amount to anything!" decades later we now have a good relationship but I had to get 2000 miles away from her first. It's natural to cry over the death of a beloved pet. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Make the call from work & only give your work number. Go over lunch. But for Gods sake don't take that freakin' iPhone with you!

I think that rather than assuming you know what the law is you should spend $50 for an initial consultation and ask a lawyer what the law is. Also if you have been married 20 years your kid may have some say as to which parent she ends up with. Call me crazy, but my husband and I read each others emails and texts, pick up each others phone messages and snoop constantly in each others wallets and YES review the iPhone location files. Makes each of us feel like someone cares! Nothing of interest i…

This is a puzzle, right? Because I applied my humdrum female logical skills with non-brilliant, yet dogged persistence and I think I solved it! We have a small number of hard-working, strictly female programmers (#3) doing the work of at least 15 people (#1) because the men are lazy and complacent (#7). The stress is making the gals bitchy (#7) and crazy (#4) but the managers do nothing (#4) because if they leave who will do the work? Am I right? I'd stick around to find out, but I'm late for my…
