As a Man Thinketh - James Allen This book, written in terms of the responsibility assumption, opens with the statement: Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes, And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills, Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: — He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: Environment is but his looking-glass.

as with many of his interviews, the interviewer is trying so desperately to "catch him out" that they CONTINUALLY misconstrue JBP quoting/expressing the content of huge amounts of data/research as his OPINION.. EVERY TIME... I don't understand why they bother, or if it's even intentional..

Fuck this resonates with me. Was having dinner with my grandmother and mother last week and when I was describing (with clear joy) the absolute lack of things I own and the free/found/gifted nature of most things they were very displeased I don’t get it, what do try think copious stuff will do for me that books and multi faceted mastery cannot!?

Or the fools’? Why rush headlong into interpersonal drama with a person who has demonstrated their willingness to be legally vicious and expresses flippant loyalty? If you think disregarding is cowardly... eash

FUCK BEING 14. Absolutely no envy of your linear position mate (except that you have, theoretically, far more time ahead than I to do stuff). Fortunately you're 14.. so just find literally anything else to do with your time, learn something cool like the code bases in cryptocurrency. If you find something which is intellectually engaging you will be able to stop crushing on her (hopefully, fucking hormones man).

With absolute self-confidence and assurance! Hit them with the ol' I have my goals, life plans etc.. --- insert some very well considered opinions and goals ---- or the classic I'm just working on myself and my studies/work alternatively if that doesn't hold them off just go with a twist on their questions... I should get married/children etc? Why do you not want me to achieve my --- reinsert all the goals and stuff --- ?? why are you trying to hold me back?? or the final move of emotional frami…

Mate if you're financially sorted (income + assets) and have found some good hobbies/interests/work you can pretty much do that for a great many years... If your business/wealth is excessive give it away, form your own Not for Profit as an arm of your business or something, IDK, god likes that stuff right? Cars, Watches, Nice Restaurants etc.. all well and good but material leisure has some pretty hard limits in terms of actual return. Overall i'd say your best bet is to give me your excess mone…

Mate I would have moved through there with a beaming smile and a calm demeanour, allowing me pleasant interactions with everyone! I'd have paid no mind to this interaction other than to acknowledge it and continue on my way, what else is there to be done?

So in reflection on the content of the sub being seemingly dominated by negativity and spite? EDIT: Never mind, I took a moment to scroll through your posts/comments, you seem very angry at the world and everyone.. best of luck.

ooof, weak personal straw man nice work mate EDIT: I'm devastated by your insult but more so that you've still failed to self-reflect on the content of this sub, which is what I was calling for in my post
/r/MGTOW08/03/18 10:12 PM

'shaming' is really a bit strong here to my mind.. I don't know that making a point of observation about how content has changed over time and calling for a reflection on that can be considered shaming. Some of the content shifted with the r/incels influx, it is undeniable as far as i can tell. I'd argue the largely the mods are failing that sub because they have too much of a "muh freeeeedoms" mentality, but i suppose that's because I wouldn't consider incel content to be compatible with MGTOW.

Ok dude, enjoy the horrible frame of mind you seem to be in.

This was what frustrated me about it, I don’t have a dramatic life, I’m not engaged with any mainstream media or social media platforms. And I don’t accept repetitive drama from people in my life as I don’t go out of my way to consume or generate drama which is why I couldn’t understand why the sub would want to be the flame and drama show it seems to be

thank you for your perspective

This is the first time i've posted here you are correct. I was just offering a point of reflection to the sub, I prefixed my expression of preference as such and not as some dictum of high authority that you must follow. you should read more carefully and assume less.

thanks for the response, I'll make sure to notice the subjectively good posts and try not to get tilted by the subjectively unhealthy posts.

This is the internet I suppose, I did prefix the expression of preference as such rather than a dictum of “how it should be” It was intended as a call to reflection about what people would actually like from the sub but I think I muddied that with the title Thank you for the response
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 11:26 PM

Thanks for the response but you didn’t actually answer the question in the post

Regarding the post you linked at the end, could this be the consideration required for an umbrella of MGTOW subs?

Thank you for your thought
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 11:19 PM

I mean you are getting into a whole bunch of projection about me and my life but sure. I’m not calling for policing and removal I’m calling for self reflection about the content and its effect on the self, the benefit of it etc
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 11:17 PM
1

Could you elaborate?
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 11:15 PM
1

I don’t understand how the call for reflection can be considered tone policing or the like, I expressed a personal preference which I prefixed as such

I’m a highly acclaimed being I’m not in need, simply wondering if the way this sub is heading is what people would actively want from it
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 11:04 PM

So to the point of my post? Your thoughts on the bulk of content?
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 11:02 PM

I’m not looking to police it I’m looking for self reflection Why do so many folk get on the defensive about policing and MUH FREEEEEEDOM Must be the American mind?

Cheers for the reasoned and considered response

You make a good point in that there are better places for specific lines of questioning, Perhaps I was misguided when I envisioned what this sub would or could be
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 10:50 PM

Hardly? Again the kernel of the post has been missed by your knee jerk reaction I’m wondering if some self reflection from us in a ruminative sense could help this sub grow in a different direction

I honestly hope you have more of a mind than that

/r/MGTOW07/03/18 10:42 PM

sure, but your thoughts on the state of content?
/r/MGTOW07/03/18 10:37 PM

I've enjoyed the sub for a about a year now but the last few months I have had to distance myself from it which is a real pity. I had hoped it would be a forum for some of the older guys or simply experienced folk to impart some knowledge of mastery or understanding but it continues to decline into myopic flaming

the internet is the university, and it is almost free! working in entry level jobs which are loosly related to your desired field is a great start and you shouldn't be disheartened with the idea of working in one of these jobs for a few years because entry level usually means very simple! this gives you heaps of mental room to learn things in your own time while having a solid weekly schedule

base level, simple employment - Information Tech intermediate levels - Specialisation and refinement of skills higher levels - Diversify skills across other industries (e-commerce is good) Avoiding debt - Live simply and within your means If i were in your shoes? I'd skip traditional universities all together, find and entry level I.T job with some training included. This is actually easy, all you honestly need is general competence with computers/networks and the ability to speak to people with…

I have to jump in here, as the Buddhist philosophy is more the thought that attachment is the root of all suffering and desire is a symptom of attachment.

Not that much can be done, particularly given your ages. However I would suggest a combination of the following. 1- Sustained objective and rational documentation (mental or collections of occurances) of the shitty behaviour. 2- use said content to draw out the crappy side of the chick in front of your friend (be calm, methodical and maintain composure) 3- have some heart to heart chats with your friend about abstract thing which can seed an understanding of her being poisonous
