To be fair, his tone sounds informal to me. I'm also a first spanish speaker. Translation is an interpretation and not rocket science, so it always comes down to the interpreter who speaks both languages. So if you feel "nice hit" is the right translation then by all means, but I'd say by the context and my experiences he made an informal variation of "bien hecho". "Bien" and "bueno" have a difficult translations to English in my experience and depends on the context due to grammar differences.
