I am not sure I even brought up the white male argument to them. I was just expanding on what I had started to talk about with them. They did not want to even hear part of what I was trying to say. As soon as they knew I had a different opinion than them they shut down on the topic.

Also, if you look in certain fields that used to be male dominant such as Public Education, Social Services and Local Government you would see the shift toward men is far beyond the less than 50% that you mentioned. Go to your local Child Support agency and see how many men work there. How about at Public health? Or Welfare office?

My claim was not that slaves became slave owners. This argument had nothing to do with slavery but oppression. Slavery is one of many different aspects of oppression. One recent example would be the oppression of Germany after WWI which led them to becoming oppressors of all who were not German. Not just Jews but gypsies, blacks etc. I know there are other instances like this in history and I am sure if you googled pedagogy of the oppressed you would see what I mean.

I understand that the relationship between men and women has never been true oppression, however similarities can be drawn regarding the relationship between the inferior and the superior. What makes the gender issue unique to other groups are that we are biologically forced to coexist for our survival. This is why we as a society make excuses and try to ignore our transgressions against each other. Especially in instances which there seems to be no easy compromise.

Can you explain how I went overboard with the white male part? Simply being a white male invalidates my opinion? I never claimed victim status only was pointing out the trend that occurs in these shifts and believe that this eventually will occur with white males. They acted in a way with me that made me feel unwelcome and so I left. I do not think that I claim victim status by doing that.

They are the ones distancing themselves from me. I have tried to contact since then and got the same response. Apparently it really bothered them to hear a different opinion than theirs...

to be fair the rest of the comments in reply to the original commenter were in defense of CBS (unless that was all of you lol). I think we get carried away here sometimes and highlight the crazies a bit much. All that does is polarize the two sides of the argument which devolves the conversation into MRA vs. Feminism grandstanding.

Is it rude to stare? I mean I don't do it in an awkward confrontational way, but damn is it hard not to want to look at something that attracts my attention. Be it a girl's massive cleavage or a wacky looking hobo that is mentally ill and talking to himself.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
