I met a lot of nice people in cooking class. Meet-up is also a good platform.

Are you kidding? You'll be in class with 90 percent guys! If you just try to be as attractive as possible, they'll be standing in line for you and you'll have the best pick. Honestly, it's not a problem. My brother married a fellow engineer, who has a very 'masculine', analytical, technical mind, but is also soft-spoken, feminine and classy. His best friend also married an engineer, a pretty, generous, fun-loving girl. Having an authentic passion can only make you more attractive wife material. …

I think you should start to trust your boundaries. You shouldn't have become completely hysterical, but when some one treats you like that, you can calmly explain that you really don't like it. That has nothing to do with unstability. It just means you're not a push-over and your time is worth something. Have you tried anything to solve your problem? How has it worked? Physically, I do mos…

I think the article is a bit all over the place, but it has a point about children being worshipped and mothers being some kind of saints/martyrs. Have you read 'French children don't throw food?'. That was way more articulate, and it also has a good chapter on how having children makes American women often more resentful towards their partners.

I really love the books of Anne Tyler. They're feminine but not sentimental, she's so gentle but so knowledgeable about her characters, and she always has wise things to say about relationships, familiy, life in general. 'Digging to America' is my absolute favorite.

In college, I changed my very prestigious major to go follow my heart and study something that was less pretigious but that I was passionate about. Now it's ten years later and sometimes people ask me if I don't have regrets. And they all seem disappointed when I honestly tell them: sometimes yes, sometimes no. If you're going to give up money and prestige to chase a dream with no guarantee of succeeding, think hard about it. Because when you're very young, it sounds romantic, but when all your …
