I tended to my ex-wife's career more than she did. I certainly wrote every word on her resume. I job hunted for her. And she sabotaged a few interviews. A friend of mine set her up for a job where she just needed to show up to the interview. And she skipped. So this is how she avoided any real work. She's a very low output kind of person. I can't really judge. I mean, some people are perfectly happy making minimum wage into their 60s. Ironically, my ex wife was much happier than me. IN HINDSIGHT…

Same. I don't remember how much I paid. $1500 maybe for a few accounts. It seems a bit ridiculous for "divide by two". A third-grader could do it. But this is how the divorce process works. Everyone skims off the top. OP: Fidelity/Rowe/Schwab etc pretty much require a QDRO to avoid taxes.
