His next line is “hmmm should I end a relationship just because he doesn’t support hating all white people?” If this is what he believes liberal women are refusing to compromise on politics wise I think that’s reason enough to disregard the rest of the post. Dude’s head is in orbit.

I’ve read your other comments on this thread, and while you make well-reasoned points in those, I’m gonna have to argue against this one. Healthy women *try* to avoid abusers, but even they aren’t equipped properly to steer clear of them entirely. Abusive men, especially when we aren’t strictly speaking physically abusive, are everywhere, and can absolutely hide their violent or insensitive behaviors until whoever they’re with is in a vulnerable enough position for them to unleash said behaviors…

So does it not follow that both men’s and women’s standards are fairly unrealistic in this day and age? I’ve seen plenty of dudes call even the smallest imperfection in a woman “chopped” just as I’ve seen women do so too. We’re all chopped.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 03:59 PM

Standards are “warped” only if there’s a solid foundation to have been “warped” from. Since standards are, by and large, arbitrary, we should be attempting to reinforce healthy standards and reducing unreasonable standards. I’m not the guy to outline what kinds of things fall into either category, but it’s clear these guys are missing the forest for the trees. Women are victims of the same underlying societal issues men are.

That seems like quite the jump to conclusions. Just because they’re questioning an inability to understand romantic love without an accompanying sexual element says nothing about them not being able to view romance on its own. Most people who engage in romance also engage in sex as a form of romantic intimacy. Romance by itself is increasingly rare in this day and age.

Not the end of history, but certainly the end of this iteration of society. It is eating itself from the inside out. Either compounding social factors or external environmental factors (or a combination of both, à la man-made climate change) will result in its collapse and subsequent recovery. Hopefully next time we can get past these stupid problems we’ve imposed on ourselves arbitrarily to cement the power of those benefitted by hierarchy. Generally, society needs to put on its adult shoes and…

Not new here. I’m actually used to you and other women here getting rather annoyed at dudes whining about shit and being judgy over the preferences of other people, which I totally understand. Not sure then why you’d see that and want to emulate it, and then die on that hill. Really makes you no better than the dudes who complain about how women only go for “chad” because they think they’re too lazy to expand their options or something. Not wanting to date multiple people at a time is not a refl…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/26 12:10 AM

I don’t see your argument here. “People are lazy for not dating multiple people at a time because I think they are”? Like, everyone’s judgmental, but not everyone goes onto a debate subreddit and defends their judgments based on nothing but their own feelings. I feel like you gotta come up with more than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/26 09:38 PM
2

Not wanting to date multiple people at once sounds like laziness? That seems awfully judgemental Some people just don’t have the social energy to be putting on their best selves for multiple people at a time.

Recently an overwhelming majority of posts on this subreddit contain a ridiculous amount of spelling mistakes and can barely keep their point straight in the bodies of their own posts. There also seems to be a major incel movement developing in India and other Southeast Asian countries. I wonder if the two are correlated at all?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/26 08:41 AM

Idk I feel like that’s a normal preference for people to have. Most people I know don’t want to feel like they’re constantly competing with others, especially for romance. That’s Disney Channel romcom nonsense. Maybe talking to multiple people at once? But once you start going on dates I feel like it’s healthier for everyone if you focus on one person at a time.

God, how hard is it for you to state that outright? Instead it had to be several comments deep of you claiming that romantic incompatibility somehow had anything to do socioeconomic class. Also what’s up with all the women on this subreddit telling me they don’t care? If you don’t care about how your opinions come across, maybe you shouldn’t be a top 1% commenter on a debate subreddit.

I’d suggest looking up the concept of the Overton Window. The US’ window has shifted far to the right, which is why everyone is referring to the Dems as center right. And this is speaking to the DNC and mainstream Democratic politics, not to individual Dems like AOC or others who align themselves with the Dems for an ounce of political power.

This. Huge pushes by conservative media to repopularize “traditional” relationships as well as a general lowering of trust among people has caused the pendulum to unnaturally swing back towards sex negativity. It’s funny though, because GenZ is still fairly social and, on the surface, seems just as sex positive as millennials, but overall social battery/attention span is much lower and most sex positivity is black and white (groups having a lot of sex and groups having literally none).

I mean, think of it simply in terms of outcomes. If you have two men, one generally “good” and one generally “bad”, you will have one good outcome and one bad outcome. Sitting there and hoping the bad one comes around because he sees the good one “doing good things out of the bottom of his heart” is counterproductive. You will never get a bad person to change by simply surrounding them with good, you need to make doing good result in some sort of benefit which outweighs whatever bad thing they m…

I’m genuinely surprised that you’re this obtuse and think anyone should take you seriously in a debate subreddit. Just “because you can” is not why you replied. /r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 03:41 AM

I think you might be confused. You have to make the conscious decision to click reply, type a reply, and hit send. Cool, looks like you aren’t here to have real discussions. If you actually wanted to change my mind you’d point out what was wrong with what I said. Not surprised, most women are here to add fuel to the flames.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 03:16 AM
2

Why is it dishonest? You are being wildly vague and I think it’s because you don’t want to face the issue with your argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 03:15 AM
3

Just because you claim it’s dishonest doesn’t make it dishonest. I quite literally took out “women” and “something” and replaced it with “racists” and “giving minorities equal rights”. Please go ahead and point out the dishonesty?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 03:13 AM
3

This is essentially what a conservative would’ve said during the civil rights era in defense of segregation. Not saying you are a racist yourself, that would be ludicrous, but your argument can be rearranged like: “Claiming that racists are cowards for not allowing minorities to have equal rights because it isn’t socially normal or expected is stupid lol” Do you seriously want society to act like this?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 03:08 AM
4

Lmao yep, their argument could be applied to basically any social norms that have changed over the last couple decades. It’s literally why conservatism is so deeply ingrained in our society, because so many people are plenty happy just coasting by with what the system gives them. It’s like men saying “Why would we be cowards for not wanting to give women the right to vote, it’s not socially normal for that to be the case?”. Like obviously that’s a terrible argument. Women can vote now and look a…

Totally agree, I was more so saying there are much better examples of primarily female spaces considered nerdy by most of the general public than a book fandom that can’t muster more than 20k people across two reddit forums. I mean honestly, OP’s reference to SCA chapters is probably the best point they made. Even talking about cosplay or comicons or whatnot would’ve been a good point, their overall argument just sucked.

Stardew Valley? The Sims? Geometry Dash? Hollow Knight? Celeste? Are these not real video games or something Candy Crush is what 40 year old women play, so I guess if you’re 40 as well, maybe there’s some truth to what you’re saying?

That’s like me saying women haven’t yet figured out about the Clifford the Big Red Dog fandom and that’s why nerdy women don’t find any good guys

If literally all you care about in life is getting laid right up until your looks fade I have a feeling, based on my experience, that there are more people that share this sentiment than we really want to admit, at least in younger demographics. It’s absolutely a relic of sex-negative culture that pushes women into being ambiguous about their interest in men. Public sentiment towards expressing sexuality has changed over time, but prevailing behavior and communication patterns continue to be disconnected from said sentiment. This is why there’s so many contradictions when this topic is discussed. People’s opinions simply don’t match their actions, because their environments (or their egos, let’s be real) don’t allow for it. Like, I’m ab…

I think the issue is that it’s more like 40% of men (above average), but people here like to take on this defeatist mindset that only the most elite and stupid attractive “chads” get women. Nah, I think it’s more so: 20% of men get a lot of women or end up with the apex of women, 20% are attractive enough to get pretty consistent hookups because the top 20 are quite rare to come across, 10-30% in the middle get into relationships here and there but don’t get hookups, and then the bottom 30% are …

While I get where you’re coming from and don’t want to be overly pessimistic, the issue I’m seeing is that the same problems that are spawned on most short-form video platforms like TikTok, YT shorts, and Instagram Reels, would carry over in an implementation of the same thing to dating apps. Adding some sort of audition or interview feature would help alleviate some of the problems you get with the limited amount of personal info you can put on your profile. However, like I said, it’ll still ju…

1st point: Okay then my numbers are off for domestic violence cases… except that study only accounts for adults aged 18-28 in 2001, not for historical trends in domestic violence. That study doesn’t say anything about men older than 28 and doesn’t delve into the data from before or after 2001. Additionally, I don’t think 70% of women committing non-reciprocal violence in relationships is a useful number when you consider that the reason that figure is so high is most likely because those men are…

I don’t think you understand how intrinsic violence is to masculinity. Who were the hunters of old times? Who plays the most physical sports? Who runs the MMA, WWE, and other boxing organizations? What do boys do with their friends? What demographic accounts for 95% of domestic abuse cases? Hell, who, up until recent times, fought in wars? In what world do good people put down others? I hate that this shit is normalized to the point that someone who is “normally a nice person” can treat people they don’t even know with such malice that they might as well be talking about a rat or some garbage they discarded. I couldn’t even fathom saying anything to the effect of what you’ve listed, and the people I know wouldn’t either. Well if that’s how you view passivity then you should’ve probably said that outright. I’m sure you can think of situations in which there is an attractive, outgoing man who you’d like to hit on. You would just pass up the opportunity to date a man like that because he didn’t think to ask you out first? Seems more like you’re passive and value an active man to even you out, in which case I’m not really sure why you’re engaging in this discussion because your situation doesn’t apply at all to what…

Well, I’m not saying these are passive men, that’s just you filling in the gaps. The guys you are asking out should be people you are attracted to first and foremost, which is most likely confident men. Doesn’t mean you can’t beat him to the punch and ask him out first🤷‍♂️

I mean it can’t be that hard to tell when a guy is just dating to have an easy chance at getting laid vs. dating because he’s into you. Like, you asked him out because you liked him in the first place, not because you felt like he was lonely and you wanted to cheer him up. Some random loser isn’t going to be the guy you pick, so the basis should already be there for mutual attraction. If you aren’t getting what you want out of a relationship, then dump the guy. Not relative to how society functions currently. There’s a huge body of study behind psychology that decides just that. I understand it’s arbitrary, and that the distinction in many cases is unnecessary, but that some people do possess symptoms to a degree of severity which makes it far more difficult for them to function properly.

What I’m saying is that saying every average woman is “relatively unattractive and fat compared to Sofia Vergara” is such a truism it doesn’t even need to be stated. It’s like saying the average man is “relatively poor and unsuccessful compared to Jeff Bezos”. It literally means nothing.

I think I know one singular person who bases his attraction on if a woman has a BBL, fake lashes, or plump lips. The vast majority of men don’t gaf about extreme cosmetic procedures, and the vast majority of women don’t get them. I don’t see what the problem is here. Seems rather self-inflicted.

Sounds rather vague, and you can hardly conflate “leftists” with “left of center moderates” for chrissakes. If you want to make an argument, maybe just talk about the fact that we seem to have too many liberals focused on the wrong issues, instead of filling a reply with enough straw men to fill a cornfield on a subreddit which isn’t exactly concerned with labeling Trump a Nazi or wondering whether Israel is illegitimate. Again, if attraction is assumed, so should basic qualities like kindness. You shouldn’t have to specify either as a woman, because the men who are attractive and aren’t kind obviously aren’t worth your time in the first place. You definitely shouldn’t have to tell a man to be kind for them to be kind, that defeats the purpose and honestly just makes it look like they’re kowtowing in an act of appeasement instead of just being a decent person.

The main point you seemed stuck on was that men being physically attractive was such an important factor that it didn’t need stating whereas men “treating women like human beings” was something that needed to be specified. Okay first of all, I’m not OP, so saying “I” brought up anything is flat out wrong. Third spaces have existed in society forever, only recently have they started degrading and dying out because of a combination of factors including, but not limited to: Late-stage capitalism, gentrification, inflation, overconsumption, and the internet (i.e. social media). Do you seriously believe that adding more neutral third spaces is going to contribute to women being harassed? Women are already harassed in private spaces and whatnot because men and women don’t mix very often due to a lack of socialization. Did I measure development with GDP? Way to put words in my mouth. China doesn’t have the largest GDP because it’s developing, because its GDP per capita is low, and because its people are poor. That’s because public education gets funded less and less in America, to push kids into evangelical christian private schools and destroy actual learning. The government wants more kids to be illiterate so they can be put into the workforce and not know enough to fight for their rights. The school voucher program is an example of that. Homeschooling is a bandaid to the actual problem.

China continues to be secularly based and its economy is growing insanely fast and on track to become the largest in the world especially if the US continues to hurt itself. Saying that society must be structured around a sacred object is just ignorant of reality. Really seems like theological societies tend to hate each other more and kill each other more. Also, the existence of religion in many places gives rise to extremism.
