Yep. The first thing was trying to get women to pee standing up. That obviously failed because it required lots of practice, during which women would cover their own legs and hands in pee. There's even a device for it, but it also failed (although it got lots of publicity). So now it is back to the men, women can't do it - so neither can you! Seems to be the mantra

Just to let you know why people think it's wrong (although I pee in the shower): showers have a flat bottom, mould and bacteria grow there and urine provides a fantastic place for bacteria to breed (although it's sterile when it is ejected). Also just the 'eww gross'-ness of it - people not wanting to stand in pee. You'd have the same reaction about shitting in the shower, even if it all goes down the drain - it's a gross thought. Sink is simple - never mix things you ingest with things you expe…

Have you seen women's bathrooms? They are consistently more messy. In any case, if the toilets/urinals are designed properly there is no mess created by normal use.

Best case scenario they are just going to disengage with society on many levels and hasten the decline of western civilisation. Well if you look worldwide, you'll find that the majority of people don't accept gay marriage. Perhaps you could try to be more open minded.

It's an ideology, like feminism and other -isms that have taken over our societies. They try to deny that there is a middle ground, you're either with or against. I couldn't care less as long as nobody tries to tell me what to believe. But the fact that they have pushed me into the corner makes me instinctively respond with anger rather than indifference. My gay friends know where I stand on that and we're fine with having different political opinions so long as nobody loses their shit over it.

Agree. It's taking two unrelated positions and trying to combine them for no good reason. Men should have a fair go -> Some men are gay -> Men should support gay marriage There is no logical pattern to this and I also am alienated by the LGBT PR machine infiltrating every sub with this issue for no good reason. Eg every atheist sub has gay issues more than what the actual sub was meant to be about. Mods don't mind, of course - unless it's something against gay marriage.

Not always. People lie in the spur of the moment to avoid embarrassment or being caught of something deemed worse than lying. Sometimes white lies told in confidence escalate and people just run with it until either the problem goes away or it spirals out of control. edit: neither of those two parodies imply premeditation. While true, this actually bugs me a little in that I appreciate the differences between the sexes. I don't want to ignore and pretend that we are the same - that's what got us in this mess in the first place. In some cases it is a direct result. My ex had twins when she was 16, she never had a dad in the home. She can't function in a relationship, she can't have affection or 'cuddles' with any man she has been with - she doesn't understand why a man would want to hug her. Homosexuality is common has been observed in animals as well. Just because something is normative doesn't mean it's the only thing that works and everything else doesn't. Whether or not a healthy balance child REQUIRES input from both genders isn't something you can know for sure, so to make moral judgements based on that which condemn other people as selfish is what's really shameful. My assertion is that a healthy balanced child generally requires input from both genders. And that to purposefully take that away from a child for selfish reasons is shameful. The proof that same-sex 'parents' don't do as well is evident in the fact there are no countries anywhere on earth where that is the norm. If it was the best way, whichever society did that would be more advanced than everywhere else - but there is no such society.

But there haven't been sufficient studies that show any differences in children raised by hetero vs. homo parents, so you can't say definitively that one set of parents will raise children better than the other. And by the same token, you can't say that they'll be the same. What exactly are "normal consequences" and why are they better? The biological instinct trumps cultural influence. This is demonstrated by the nuclear family being the norm for every successful culture (any that didn't die out) on the face of the earth. Yeah movies/TV are doing a lot to influence gender roles these days. The dominant wife, the dim-witted husband, the gay son and the unruly daughter are characters in pretty much every American movie/sitcom I've seen lately... The fact of the matter is that both male and female parents are required to produce a child. So it would make sense if it is a necessity to have both to produce a child (because each parent provides a different half), that both have something to bring to the table in raising them. No, the mother is also as important. One without the other will in most cases leave the child worse off... Granted, in some cases it will spur the child on, but I'm talking about averages here. My point was, if you don't give children a balanced life, you will get abnormal consequences. These are talking about averages, not special cases: A child with no books (or internet) will be dull and stupid. The Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency reports that the most reliable indicator of violent crime in a community is the proportion of fatherless families. Fathers typically offer economic stability, a role model for boys, greater household security, and reduced stress for mothers. This is especially true for families with adolescent boys, the most crime-prone cohort. Children from single-parent families are more prone than children from two-parent families to use drugs, be gang members,…

From a biological standpoint, being a parent is about passing on your genes - so the logic doesn't follow for homosexual children. If all you want is happy gay children it might, but if you want your genes passed to the next generation (keeping in mind >98% of most countries are hetero) then it doesn't make sense.

You are plainly wrong. There is a reasonable expectation of privacy in changing rooms, which is why they are segregated by gender. Changing clothes is a necessity, not a choice. You go out in winter with wet shorts where I live, you will catch a cold. That is a real health risk, not a perceived possible mental health issue. Pretty awful stuff. Although I'd prefer not sitting anywhere near children on a flight, it's ridiculous to move someone from their seat after they have settled in. If anything, move the child. Perhaps if they're so concerned about the welfare of children, they might require them to travel with a legal guardian?

There is no drink driving prevention based on telling sober drivers to limit their driving and lives. There is Take note of the targeted demographic as well. We tell children not to play/loiter on/near roads and to employ a 'stop, look, listen' (or similar) approach when crossing roads. This is re-enforced with speeches by police and teachers at assemblies, parental guidance, group singing in class (stop, look, listen song) and physical enforcement by volunteers at crossings near schools. Yeah, I avoided trouble by staying in the areas where they do STEM degrees. Logic, mathematics and production are effective repellents for those types. They stick to writing about how language is used to objectify objects and other such trivial nonsense.

That's not a friend. I've dealt with these people before and because I am too stubborn to lose the argument they never bring it up again. From experience they know they'll get schooled until I'm fully satisfied. Or they go and stick to their own kind. Either way, if they can't handle the heat they can get out of the kitchen. Or at least don't turn on the hobs. But I'm an arsehole, so my way won't work for you. You already know what you should do.

Variant: Go the other way home so she won't think I'm following her. Funny/sad true story attached to that. My girlfriends former flatmate went completely berserk at some guy (normal looking geeky white guy) for following them - accusing him of all sorts. He lived in the apartment directly next to theirs.

No, I understand that. You seem to think that I said that because sex is special, nothing else is. Family is special, food is special, drugs are special, music is special, sex is special, competition is special. Mix them together and you might find other types of special.

It is special because of the chemical releases in the brain as well. I think it was something more than the sex that bothered him, though. Probably something to do with rimming old fat guys or something. I didn't ask for any details as I didn't need any new "can't unsee" mental images.

TIL LadyLuq knows every woman in the world. Remember that P word? We don't wear any shoes inside the home as we live in a dirty city. She actually finds it annoying where we live at the moment as she feels too tall in heels. She doesn't want to be the tallest person in the crowd, but she loves wearing heels. That's one of the things she's looking forward to when we leave Asia, that she can wear heels more regularly and not "feel like a sasquatch" (her words).

Dad self-employed, wouldn't sign divorce, didn't declare income, then died. She may have been eligible for support from the state, but she never received anything. She worked in property & construction instead. Probably a mixture of choice and ineligibility or unaware of entitlements. She isn't really the handout type, I guess.

Hmm I've known people who worked as prostitutes. All of their earnings ended up getting frittered away on drugs and alcohol to try 'wash away' and forget about what they'd done. Actually the [former] prostitute who specifically said that to me is a gay male. Some of the females, I inferred they were in the same situation based on the fact that their drug dealer would call them up daily. Imagine that, a dealer that not only delivers, but calls to see what you need before he does his rounds.

Yep, there are actually people you can hire to come at an unknown time/day and fulfill a kidnap/rape fantasy. Of course, once they're taken, they know what's up... But I guess they just stay in character. I don't understand this kind of thing, it's not for me. Whatever floats ones boat, though. Something about it reminds me of those 'scary maze' places where they have actors chase you with chainsaws and so on. Some of the best recreational drugs are made within the body. Well I'm glad you're here to find some truth. First lesson, thinking with reason, rather than going by emotional babble. I can't teach you that. One cannot use reason to move an unreasonable person. I hope reading and thinking over material found in this community will straighten you out and help you to discover self-respect and other virtues which you probably didn't realise you threw away a long time ago.

Once they have it pointed out, in a friendly and reasonable manner, how and why most of their rhetoric is either nonsensical, hypocritical or deliberately misleading they quickly change their tune.
