At the time, it is very important, after time, something I don't really think about it's just a step into an adult life. I imagine it's the same for men.

Our responsibilities are the same Listen and respect each other Open commutation Empathy Care about what the other is saying. I.e if you ask about their day, actually care about the answer. Work together Make time for each other Understand each others values and priorities and make time for them Be the safe place for the other person Give time/space when needed

It's rare but it's hard to know who is and isn't. I was in college and got stalked by a man I never knew or talked to. It went on for almost a year and was escalating he was arrested and taken to court and I got a restraining order. Logically I know most men I meet aren't a threat and I don't treat them as such, but in the back of my mind I have this constant wariness around men I don't know. Its been over a decade and it's still the same. I was targeted and had no control over it, it wasn't any…

I disagree, but I also disagree with 50/50. I've been in an LTR for over 10 years. Every person should put as much as they can into it, so 100/100. My partner and I both work some days. I have no energy, so he picks up more slack and sometimes vice versa. It shouldn't be a score card. You should work together as a team doing what needs to be done and supporting each other. I didn't settle, I love my partner, and we put effort into making sure we have quality time as well as making sure the day t…

Online in these forums yes, but in my day to day life I see get the impression that men are less likely to talk about their issues. This may be bias to what I see and hear and I'm not a man so it's just from my point of view. But I was talking about more general day to day conversations than online.

Yes sort of i sort of see it as in a way how you see news and politics the loudest and most prominent voices become the status quo

I think it will.have a huge impact in workforce dynamics and tax intake for governments they have often relied on the backs of the working class, what happens what that shrinks we will see as birth rates are dropping across the developed world

Not really something I consider in relationships, I tend to go for calmer people in general as I hate confrontation anyway. For me, I dont want someone who's hot-headed and getting into scraps. I can't imagine my partner fighting unless it was an extreme situation.

I don't know if it's standards that's changed more like how we find people. When I was single the men I dated were in my social circle or people I met out and about in my town and would usually start with just chatting and getting to know the person then going out on a date, or would be someone you had known for a while. Whereas now it's OLD and social media and it can be anyone in a large radius, and you skip the having initial getting to know you phase in a way, like when you met someone at a …

I think we have lost our sense of community for the most part and then to add the Internet on top of that we have modernised and improved over the years but in the time we have also lost something. When I used to listen to my grandparents about how the community was like when they were younger, with the support, comradary and people getting together for a bru and a natter, I wish that we still had that.

I think I've done a bad job of explaining what I meant as the replies have been interpreting what I said differently to how I meant it.

Not what I was saying at all, I was trying to say those that announce they are a nice guy or who go over the top usually are not nice. So I suppose I was talking more about the term "niceguys" than genuinely good people.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/24 07:17 AM

In my experience nice guys are not nice at all. They are manipulative and get nasty when things don't go their own way. Good people don't have to proclaim that they are nice and dont have to love bomb. All these traits you ask about are not conductive to a happy relationship. I don't want the drama and mind games

No problem, thank you for having open and fair questioning. You have been the most pleasant person, I have had to respond on reddit in a long time. it's very refreshing.

For me I don't like the idea of putting myself in a box. I am who I am, there's a joy in just learning and discovering rather than trying to analyse everything. Also I do wonder how much our own bias of what we think we are like or what we want to be like impacts results of these tests.

For alot of my female friends they are so disenchanted by it all, its not that they don't enjoy sex but it's no longer worth the mither. The horrible comments, the turning up to dates and no-one shows, finding out the persons married, or the ghosting they just don't want to put themselves out there anymore. They are done and have found other ways to feel happy and fulfilled. My point of view only comes from what friends have said I'm in a LTR and haven't ever done OLD.

I think I would, but I'm older now, whether an 19 year old would listen, I don't know. But also attraction is important for compatibility it can't be written off from either side. Though I've been in a relationship for over 10 years we got together in our early 20s, he's my everything so if I put the glasses on and it said he wasn't it I would smash them to smithereens. I suppose it's about perspective and where you are in life

Probably not a lot of my female friends who have decided to stay single don't have anything to do with men. Men, especially women who are older, are not competing with other men. You are competing with her peace and the life she has now, either you add to it or take from it

I doubt it would work. How you think and feel at 18 is very different to 40. I feel a lot of teenagers would just ignore this. Also, you change and grow as time goes on, removing experience for cold analytic data, which would remove lessons and the joys of discovery.

I'm in my 30's and been in a relationship since I was 22. My female friends that are single aren't sleeping around at all, if they match with someone they like they often won't be looking for other matches and will be talking just to that guy and dating that guy. They all are dating for something serious. To be honest none of the women in my circle have ever had the constantly getting hit on and men sliding into their dms like is claimed on here. They have really struggled in online dating to fi…

On the same vein why should a women who's a nurse or in care working 12-14 hours have to do all the housework and child care when they are also exhausted from the long hours and hard work that they do..

I don't think romantic love is a lie, but I think our view of what romantic love is has been distorted by Hollywood romances. My biggest influence when growing up was my grandparents, they had such a beautiful relationship and deep love for each other all the way to the end. However the relationship they showed me is not what you will see portrayed in media.

Agreed, also some of the messages I've seen my friends get from dating apps seem to be from men who think exactly like this. All that happens is they get blocked and often my friends see so much of this they give up and delete the apps. Most of the women I know gave up on data apps from the horrendous comments and pics they were sent. They are not choosing hot guys they are choosing to come off the apps completely.

Exactly most of the men I know in day to day life are lovely people and are average normal guys and they are either in relationships or seem to do fine when it comes to dating.

Agreed I'm 5"3 and fine 6ft way to tall. I don't want to have to stand on a box to kiss my partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/24 10:03 AM

I wasn't trying to coddle, I just feel that the different complexities and varieties of life make this a difficult thing to quantify. For me I believe that if you added the controls to take into account these variances you would end up with such a small group to analyse the conclusions would not be worth much. Again though this is just my opinion
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 09:00 PM

No problem, it's easy to misinterpret when it's online comments.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:40 PM

I think you've misunderstood my points. I meant if I was asked for one for the first time whilst I was literally in labour that would not go down well, I do think timing would be important. What I meant is with a genuinely trustful and balanced healthy relationship, where the partner sits down and explains why they want one just for reassurance that that may go down better than if this was already a point of contention in a relationship. Hope that makes sense With my last point, it wasn't me try…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:29 PM

I suppose for me, it would be the reasoning behind getting the paternity test, how and when my partner requested one that would deem my reaction. For example, if I was asked during labour, it would not matter how nice or reasoned the person was, I would not take it well. Also, how the relationship was before the child, it was a genuinely trustful and balanced relationship, or if there were also problems with jealousy before it. Also, I've known men who cheat, and because they are, they get paran…

I don't think experience would be an issue with me as sometimes experience can actually be a disadvantage if that person has always had terrible relationships this probably would lead me to think there would be more issues than someone that's not really got experience. At the end of the day, it comes down to who they are as a person and how they communicate and live their lives. That being said, if my partner passed, I really don't think I would start dating again anyway

I just mean that everyone's lives are so different and there are so many co plexities to get it so objective that your ruling out other factors I don't think you would end up with much of a focus group .

I do t think you can, though my friendship group would all be classed as average, but all of us have different challenges, I do think it's too complex to simplify it as man v woman

I don't think you can make this judgement based on gender to be honest. For example a woman in a low income job struggling to survive has it harder than a man in a good job that is living comfortably based on income. I actually think this who has it worse men or women is part of the problem. There are so many nuances in life that make things harder for others.

I also preface that this isn't just a problem for Incels I think the terminally online and overuse of social media is an issue for all young people. I think it's changing how we communicate and the values of the simpler things in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 06:14 PM

Yes I see that as I've never used dating apps that that would skew my view a bit, however my view while anecdotal was more from friends who are single or have been in the last few years. But again, they are all early 30's. However, I do have colleagues that are a lot younger that seem to be more using real life, but again, I'm not sure if it's because they will be at the local pubs or snooker club. I agree that what I see may not be everyone. I also pointed out that I think the fact I'm in a tow…

I think alot of what we talk about is a very subjective thing and I've seen many studies that don't really pass for credited studies and dont counter bias in them but I also think alot of people come on here with the mentality to prove others wrong, rather than to discuss and hear other view points

I've not been single for 10years, but I have single friends, and off what they have told me, i think no. Most of them tried online dating, and it was a disaster. The ones in relationships now found them in real life, whether at work or met out and about. I only have two friends that I know of that found a relationship through online dating. That being said, I also don't live in a city, and my town still has thriving pubs, lots of walking groups, and community events, so I don't know it could als…

I have to have feelings for my partner before having sex, but women are not all the same. I haven't ever been someone who can have sex without the emotions already being there, so I would say no. But again, women are not a monolith. We are all different, so it may be the case for some idk.

I think the biggest problem that young people face is not addressed. It is being terminally online that's the problem, having a social group and going out and exploring the world not being overly present on social media, I think, would solve a lot of the issues faced today. For the most part, I think red pill content makers are scammers trying to get vulnerable people to buy their courses, so they purposely preach things that won't help as genuinely helping won't earn them the money.

That's a very big leap to assume that I have no conscience and want to undermine men just from my comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 08:37 AM

Okay, is the Fresh larping as a woman. What absolute rubbish. Time to grow up, op.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 08:26 AM

I think this is all a very immature outlook, to be honest. Exs in my experience were only an issue when you're dating late teens in their early 20s. Once you get older, these things just aren't an issue and don't come up. Both genders can come out of bad relationships with issues. The problem is that they jump into another one before working through what happened.

To be perfectly honest, if I'm at the gym, I don't pay attention to anyone. I zone out and do my workout. Most of the people you see I'm real life are average and plenty of them are attractive. I have rarely seen anyone in real life who looks like these Instagram profiles and online dating profiles. I think men are probably more visual and look around more, but in my experience, even single girls aren't really looking. we are usually focusing on what we are doing. In real life, it starts with an…

My partner was my best friend before we got together. I love his sense of fun and adventurous spirit, but also, that fact he was just as happy, calmly chilling. He always makes me laugh and honestly can turn a bad day good. He's intelligent and confident, and we have good conversations. He treats me really well but isn't a pushover. He's kind and will help people when they need it. He treats his mum really well. He's responsible and hard working. We work together as a team really well, and I jus…
