Alright, fair enough. I suppose the alternate would be emotionally cutting her off completely during the transition. I'm not sure if you have actually been in this situation before, but I have been. Cheating doesn't need to involve sex, it can involve emotions and just plain kissing. If she's getting flowers, and male attention, I guarantee she is emotionally cheating on him. It's more beta to keep her around, I would instantly kick her ass the the curb-- buddy, you don't need to be this girls sponsor which is clearly what she is after (based on what you wrote).
