Such as? And don't link me to some nutjob like Kate Millet. Any feminist that doesn't strive for equality, but strives for turning the tables, isn't a real feminist.

Well sit back /r/SubRedditDrama, I'm gonna gt a shitstorm for this one... (assuming someone has linked this thread to them) It depends on your position on Patriarchy. If you believe it exists, and see it oppresses men and women, by confining us to "traditional roles", which is the source of all the problems posted on this sub, then MRA's and Feminists can work together, as they now share a goal, to stamp out Patriarchy.
/r/MensRights13/02/13 09:52 AM
2

It is. The "Feminists" that aren't, are by definition of the word feminism, "equal rights for women", not feminists.
/r/MensRights13/02/13 09:49 AM

It just spews hatred and works against equality. Think about it, Feminists and MRA's need to be united to stamp out inequality. Just hating each other gets nothing done, whilst the two groups are going round in circles people, both genders are suffering. That's what's so stupid.

I'm sorry, bye /r/mensrights, after busting a gut against the whole of /r/socialism to defend you guys, I'm not gonna bother anymore. This is without a doubt the most stupid post I've seen on Reddit to date. This sub is just the new /r/atheism, immature hating. I can't associate myself with people who Upvote shit like this, nor tag myself the same as them. Downvote this to fuck, I don't care.

Oh wow, another Facebook screencap of the answer a few seconds old. Seriously, I'm busting my ass trying to defend you lot on threads at the moment, if this is the shit that reaches front page, why should I bother?
/r/MensRights11/02/13 06:52 PM

Im not gonna spend my time defending you guys on other sub reddits if this is the crap that gets to the front page. How about we actually focus on men's rights instead of just bashing feminists.

There is no such thing as equality of opportunity. It works for a single generation and then that's it, you have the proletariats and the bourgeois forever more. A completely free market will never result in any form of equality, it will just result in an eventual monopoly.

Ah ok, I'll remember that for next time.

That doesn't instantly rule out MRA's. Socialism is equality for all, so both genders need to be represented. Capitalism and the perfect elite oppress women AND men.
/r/MensRights09/02/13 08:35 PM
1

There are indeed lots of socialist feminists. This whole argument hinges on whether a given MRA is anti feminist or not. I'm not anti feminist (except for really radical ones, but then again I'm anti really radical anything).

I don't know why you're being downvoted. It's not a bad idea. Would probably result in a new post on /r/subredditdrama though.

I don't think we're quite at /r/atheism yet, when we get to the "hurhurhurhur women are stupid" phase with shitty quotes like this constantly at the top we'll be there, least we have some articles and not all of us on here are spewing hate.

I hope borrowing stuff from /r/atheism doesn't become a regular occurrence on this sub, we don't want it turning into that hateful cess pit.

I remember seeing that posted on Reddit, can't remember the sub but it wound up with an over -100 score. I'm gonna buy it as a gift for my aunt in response to her thinking it was funny to buy me "End Of Men".

BA are a pretty shitty company all round. I've flown them once then flew on a Virgin flight after and the latter is so much better.

Ignore it. Those who can't act maturely and intelligently have no place in a debate. This goes both ways. Idiots do nothing for either cause. Scap that, nothing for ANY cause.

It's no point getting fussed over false info like this, it's negative propaganda, they won't change it. We should be focusing on the proof to the contrary.

To be honest I hold the door for everyone, girl or guy. As for seats, I offer them to those who need it more than me, regardless of gender. Also if it's just one person standing I offer them my seat. Gender doesn't play a role in it for me.

No, radical feminists are the enemy. Imhereforthemeta most certianly isn't a radical feminist. Not being able to distinguish between radical and moderate feminists is one of the major causes of conflict. There is a major difference between Germaine Greer and someone who seeks to understand and mend the differences between feminists and MRA's.

The problem is she's actually a really good teacher when she was teaching Anarchism and Socialism. I hope this is just a blip and either she takes arguments or the rest of my class start backing me up. I can kinda understand why they don't, she can be terrifying on a good day, put it this way. If its 2:00am and I wake up and realise I haven't done an essay due the next day, any teacher I'd fall asleep, except her.

Rose was so much better than Amy in Doctor Who :( Massive respect for her for doing this though.

I think their should be one set price for claims for everyone. If you crash, it goes up, if you don't, it goes down. It means some people would have to pay a little more initially, but it's fairer overall. Though I'd probably not include people age over 65, if we look at how often a person that age on average actually uses their car, that really would be unfair. I certianly agree with you that insurance companies are out soley for our money, it's enough to make anyone hurl.

I'm an atheist and in an ideal situation it would be removed from money. The problem is there are two types of people who use these petitions on /r/atheism, karma whores and those who actually think it will work. The latter are nearly worse because do you honestly think that a probably highly religious congressman is going to look at one of these petitions and attempt to undertake changing the entire currency? Even if they do stop printing money with it on there are still hundreds of millions of…

How about we just stop with these stupid e petitions. The site started as a great idea, now it's just a joke. This is nearly as bad as the "get in god we trust removed from money" karma whoring ones that make constant rounds on /r/atheism. Obviously I love the idea of ending male only drafts, or drafts in general, but it's sure as hell not going to happen through that website. Get in contract with your local representatives, that's what their there for.

My dad turned 63 about a week ago, I'm 18. This comic was made even worse when about 20 minutes after he came into my room and told me how much he was enjoying his birthday present (the new Led Zepplin live CD "Celebration Day").

As a guy with an old father compared to my age, he was 45 when I was born, this comics hurts a hell of a lot more.

The homophobic content of this book is the fact it is meant to "retake" the image of minors from gay men. I think that is a disgusting statement that assumes all gay men are paedophiles. Nit pick over the words I used as much as you like, it's a homophobic book full of indecent pictures. Imagine if a man had published this, you could hear the cell door slamming a mile away.
/r/MensRights04/12/12 09:14 PM

Germaine Greer is a vile piece of shit. She should have been locked up for publishing that book, it's homophobic child pornography, nothing else. Do you know what's even worse? She could be my sisters professor at university if my sister gets accepted.

This isn't really a sexist question, it doesn't talk about the reverse situation. If it specifically said "should the death penalty be applied to ONLY men who murder women", then we would have reason to be angry.

It's meant to be taken as a joke but knock off the last 4 words and I might be with you, am I the only one who really hates the 4chan layout?
/r/MensRights27/11/12 10:51 PM

Pointless insults won't get you anywhere. I agree there are some flaws in this subreddit, like how over reactionary it can sometimes be, but just calling it a joke without reasoning is a unreasonable and unintelligent. Create a discussion, I want to hear WHY it is a joke.

This is fucking stupid. Ok I don't like David Cameron and have compared him to various animals in my politics essays, but I'll credit him with the intelligence to ignore this bullshit.

I agree with this, but we should also take into account the mental state of the parent. Middle income stable parent is better than wealthy unstable parent.

Ok I worded that badly, don't worry I'm not a feminist. It works both ways, that's why I put the final sentence, hoping you would get my drift.
/r/MensRights22/10/12 01:35 PM

Granted, that is unfair. I think there should be a limit on child support, like if the woman is earning over X amount. It should be a progressive limit as well. It should also, however, be based on what the man earns.
/r/MensRights22/10/12 11:59 AM
1

Don't know if I 100% agree with this. Yes I agree with it in the case of welfare mums, but child support was originally designed in the best interests of the child. Let's say the mum hotfoots it leaving a minimum wage dad with a child, it's in that child's interest that it gets the financial support it needs. This works both ways round. The system ain't perfect that's for sure, but scrapping it altogether would hurt children more than the other parent.

No. Unless the situation demands, ie you or another person will get seriously injured if no action is taken, then hitting anyone should be off the table.

No, we defend ourselves and other harmless subreddits from the enviable slippery slope this will cause. r/beatingwomen is a disgusting SubReddit, but as the top comment in the poll thread says, next it will be any SubReddit that even slightly opposes what radical feminists want.
