I get what you're saying, and it makes sense on some cosmic point-counting system, but this really isn't the way it should be. If they're tallying up wrongs, I think the relationship is beyond the point of any repair. They both ought to do themselves a favor and just break up. I realize that much of life is lived in the gray area, but there are a few things like this are strictly black and white: either you forgive unconditionally (because it otherwise doesn't work), or you don't.

I kinda, sorta, appreciate you posting the link to the article. It was, as you described it, wasn't exactly what OP made it out to be, so thank you for that. But all the same, it was worse than what the Reddit headline suggested. This so messed up, on so many levels. Maybe these two cheaters really do deserve each other.

You don't need to look far down /r/relationships or /r/amitheasshole to see posts about May-December relationships with the older (usually) male being castigated as a near-pedophile who "groomed" the younger kid. I posted a comment just the other day, where the consensus was that a 32-year old dating a 19-year old was "creepy" and "weird." https://www.reddit.com/r/relationships/comments/sug1x4/im_19_and_in_love_with_a_32_year_old_help/

Man, fuck this mentality. This is the reason why male rape continues to go unaddressed. This is textbook STATUTORY RAPE. No different than when a male authority figure does it to a girl, when a male authority figure does it to a boy, or when a female authority figure does it to a girl. The gender doesn't define the rape, the age and power imbalance do.

No, she got kicked off a flight for telling the airline that nobody else on the flight can have nuts.

Simpin’ ain’t easy. And I say that as someone with a username that I do. (Actually it’s just an unfortunate coincidence, Sampson Simpson from Half Baked was taken, so I shortened it. I went by this name before simpin became a thing. Kinda like Gaylord)

You must be a special kind of stupid. Read the comment, and the comment to which I replied.

Do they even allow people to get a PhD in that kind of subject in Malaysia or Indonesia? (going from the Hijab-wearing people in the background)

This needs to go back to being a thing. If other meta-subreddits are permitted (e.g., Am I the Devil? <-> Am I the Asshole?) why not this one? What reddit policy does it violate?

Giving equal measure of scorn to the manipulative whore in the original post makes me a white knight? Your so-called "honest" response simply proves that he cared too much. The opposite of love isn't hate, but indifference, and his indifference is what would have been her just desserts in this situation. You're the one who wants women to pay you attention. Some introspection could reveal why that hasn't materialized, but I doubt it. I haven't craved attention from any woman in decades; I've got …

Calling it a deceitful duplicity begs the question that taking this much personal offense was the right emotional response to being stood up. It's not. Let me know how being a whiny, emotionally fragile cunt works out for you in the dating world.

"I know what you are, but what am I?" Grade school level shit. Pathetic.

Could there possibly be a more dumbass response? Click that X in the corner of your browser window and let the adults have a conversation.

You call it "not mincing words," I call it not being intelligent or articulate enough to find the right words. As nerdy8675309 wrote, ooga booga, caveman shit - unrefined and immature. This is the standard you want to set for men? It looks like we've been putting the blame for the pussification of men in the wrong place. If directness was desired, a simple, "Thanks, but I'm not interested in rescheduling, hope your product launch is successful." would have sufficed. The point here is that the gu…

One man’s bitch-made cunt is another man’s “guy with a backbone, I guess. This guy is weak for having been offended by such a trifling hoe. If he wasn’t such a sensitive Nancy, he wouldn’t have written such a whiny response. Being a man also means having class. This was utterly classless.

I got curious too, and did a search. This whole interaction went viral sometime last year, even to the point of being referred to as "The Dress of social interactions" (as in the white/gold/blue dress), though it was by one of the participants in the exchange. Seems like it was evenly split between the canceller being the asshole and the cancellee being the asshole. She's one of those "women entrepreneur"/hustle culture types that don't produce anything meaningful but think that they're Captaine…

Agreed. I originally started writing a reply to the effect that he could have stated it differently, but I can't really think of a response, even a light-hearted, humorous one that would convey the displeasure of being stood up at the last minute without coming across as a whiny bitch. I mean, the factual circumstances simply don't justify the level of disappointment he's apparently experiencing. It's just a random first date, with someone who clearly does not value his time. Why go through the …

I could get a full 12 course meal at a Michelin 3-Starred restaurant at the price of a single "Gold Tomahawk" at this dumpster. I'm not sure if I'm more offended by these prices than I am the woman.

Or a tomahawk steak costing $1000. Or spaghetti costing $80. Or a pork loin costing $100. Or a Sprite costing $10. I could go on. I'm more offended by the prices than the entitlement attitude of the woman.

How do you figure? OP had a fling with a girl before a current girlfriend. He wasn't, and isn't, cheating on anyone. Until this fiance was brought up in a recent conversation, he had no idea. Based on timelines, he figured out that he was around before or maybe during the time the fiance came into the picture. Again, nothing wrong here. OP tells this woman he's now in a long-term relationship. What's the problem here? What's the problem with asking about what she's truly thinking?

To be fair, example #2 is getting some from another woman that's part of the "poly" circle, and has even had a child by her. It's the addition of a third dude that's causing the problem. Seems like a situation that is unique to their arrangement, and wouldn't necessarily call it a cuck situation. As for example #1 and example #3, your characterization is on point.

I don't recall it being as serious as lying about being a virgin, but she significantly downplayed her sexual history (only a few serious relationships, vanilla sex, etc.). Also, maybe I'm getting this confused with another similar story, but there might have something about her refusing the husband blowjobs, but she used to do them freely. The more I think about it, that last part might have actually been the guy who found out about his wife's amateur porn past based on a link someone sent him …
