Update from my separation from last weekI've been through what you've been through. At the time I was drained out of 200k. I feel for you! I looked up a forensic accountant to see where the money had gone.....this was gonna cost me 20-40k. He explained it to me that even though she spent that money even if he was able to find out where it all went since it was spent while being married there wasn't much I would be able to do. I guess your gonna have to weigh it all out! Is it worth doing? Guess its your choice but while its still fres… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/21 12:34 PM
Dealing with the ExThanks very much. I will do this going forward. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/21 05:12 PM
Need adviceTo me it seems like she's drifted from you. Sometimes you can fix it by using counciling or securing a lawyer. Feelings get hurt and memories of bad times get burnt into your brain. People work off of emotion especially when it's fresh. I do know, if she takes you to court though without a job you will be paying alot more to keep her comfortable and child support payments. Its hard. Best of luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/21 01:12 PM
Dealing with the ExI'm very sorry. I understand. I feel so bad for my daughter cause its like her mom is more excited for her excitement and she's getting dropped off on the curb. Makes me really sad. I'm trying to step up as a dad but im still so hurt. As they say.....time heals all wounds. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/21 01:01 PM

Mornings suckI've had the same thing happen to me with sleep. The best way I got over it was talking to my psychologist, eating properly with vitamins, lots of walks while I listened to some good podcasts and making sure to set goals for myself and completing them. I'm sorry your going through this. I've heard lifting weights also helps and get on the dating apps. Even if its just to talk to someone. I found it was the hardest to start thinking about myself and what I liked after the separation. Hope this he… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/06/21 03:06 PM
BC, Canada is it worth fighting?I agree no one wants to meet! There is things to give you outs like meeting people via FaceTime where you get to see people without the side effects of covid. A large part of growing in the mind is positive thinking. Our brains are wired to think of negative and the more you think negative you will keep pulling negative thoughts. You need to find the silver lining in everything. Sometimes writing it out to find the pros and cons help out. I separated 2 months before covid and had to move out of … | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/05/21 01:33 AM
BC, Canada is it worth fighting? Is that what you want to show your daughter? I know times are rough. I'm also just turned 40 and have been dealing with the same issues and whenever there is an issue with my daughter or my ex for some reason its always spun to make it my fault. I've spent many nights ( in the past) thinking if I made the right decision because I pulled the plug. I know I made the right decision! I've been happier ever since. I also pay my ex 1200 a month in child support payments and get my daughter week on wee… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/05/21 12:50 AM
Soon to be divorced, can’t get my brain to stop spiralling. Looking for a supportive word or two.So what your explaining is life. If your car is to expensive trade it in and get a new one. When you move out look for something small. Sign up for help groups to help you deal with your ADHD. Stop looking at all the negatives and dwelling on them. Look at a problem and try to figure it out. If your missing your daughter then try to get more visiting rights or just take the time you have all in and use that for more energy to push you in the right direction. You got this. Your not the only perso… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/21 01:49 PM
Q for Divorced/Separated parents. If you could go back and time and not meet the person you separated from and gave you your children, would you? Even though that would mean you would of never have had your current kids.Never. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/21 02:01 PM
Newly separated headed for divorceI was thinking the same thing about moving out. Thats not a good choice! I went down that road once I asked for a divorce due to paying for a roommate for years. I was able to go through mediation and then used a lawyer to get it all signed up. I guess it depends on how good of talking terms you two are on. Staying at the house for a few months were the hardest cause I was staying in the basement like a rat but im so glad I went down that road. Easier to deal with unless there adultery in the re… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/21 03:16 PM
Officially DivorcedCongratulations. Glad to hear some happiness on the other side. Love reading how good people are doing and they still have their mental health. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/21 02:42 PM
Who stays because of financesWell there should be a child support calculator for you where you live! You should beable to type it in on Google and it will tell you what you will have to pay, thats how I got my number. Belive me I wish I made 15k a month. She would get more then 3/4 of my pay if she took me for alimony. I would have just given her the house if she asked for that and called it good. But she watched her brother who lived in a mansion with 3 businesses down to living in her parents basement. This is 🇨🇦. Where n… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/02/21 11:46 PM
Who stays because of financesHey I left my wife of 19 years two years ago. On year 1-14 she decided it would be great to spend a bunch of my hard earned monies in the tune of 200k. I stayed cause I had a house that had such a huge mortgage on it and she wasn't working at the time. I pushed her to get a job after that and downsized 4 years later to something a little more easy to pay on and not be house poor. I spent the next year trying to get us to counciling and trying to pull her closer to me cause we were like roommates… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/02/21 04:27 AM
What is going on? Help? You know I've been doing lots of thinking about it and I know the ex won't change. I've lived through way too many years thinking she would. I see the girl that I'm dating now as the girl I want to explore. She's such an amazing person and she's shes always honest which is a huge turn on. I don't know why I even entertained going back to the ex. Made me sick to my stomach every day thinking about both people with feelings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/09/20 04:47 AM
Divorce and FearMy councilor always told me to worry about things I can control. They things out of your control you can't do anything about. As for a woman and maybe finding happiness.......that will come in time. Focus on your kids and enjoy them. Self help......long walks, bike rides working out.....the rest will come to you in time when your ready. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/08/20 03:52 PM

What is going on? Help?Well we have a 12 year old together and I guess something in my head told me to try again. I told the ex she needs to work on herself and looks like I was able to mess both things up. Looks like single life again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/20 04:30 PM
What is going on? Help?Yeah its hard cause deep down I never wanted my marriage to fail. If it was off feelings I should have stayed away! | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/20 01:45 PM

Is it time? M36It's funny you wrote that cause I have been thinking the same thing. I make in the 6 digits and my ex was making 30,000 a year. I also am looking for someone who is successful and meets all my check boxes. We arent getting any younger so look for someone who does you! | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/02/20 04:22 PM
Is it time? M36Did you marry my ex? But on a serious note I'm just coming to a year being seperated and I can tell you that I can't wait to sign those divorce papers. I dont have anyone in my life cause I'm to jaded still and think every woman is gonna do the same thing down the road so I haven't even jumped into the jean pool donation sites. I guarantee you once you start fresh it will show you how beautiful life really is. I used to live in my basement even when we were married cause she didnt want to hang o… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/02/20 03:41 PM
Men post-divorce are 8.3x more likely to commit suicide, so I created a course to help combat thatNice thoughts! Its always good to hear someone came out on top. It makes me sick every morning I wake up and have to deal with this new life. I'm not suicidal but sometimes I go to some dark thoughts. It's nice to see there are still people out there trying to make a difference. Hats off to you good sir. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/20 01:12 AM
Anyone else thinking why bother with another relationship?Hello, so I'm in your shoes exactly right now. Been seperated since may of last year and have my kids week on week off and cant seem to care about having a relationship. Sure I was burnt but it was her doing things with my finances and lying over and over again. It was a total of 19 years and before I lost the trust I thought I had fun. But now that I'm by myself I really enjoy it! I enjoy spending my money on traveling and my hobbies instead of someone else and their dreams. I've had a few pote… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/01/20 01:45 PM
Just don't start dating a copYeah I did the same thing after 19 years. Two kids also! Just remember everyday you wake up and your alive and have that time to spend with your kids is a good day. Working out helps and I read a book called "unfuck yourself" which worked for me. There is a saying that I live by and that is "even if today was bad and tomorrow isnt gonna be that great either you will never have to repeat that day". It's gone and you can move to the next day. I know your in a tough spot but you will pull through. … | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/12/19 02:34 AM
Leaving tonight after workIts one of the best things you can do for yourself and her. When I lived in the basement before I moved I would take all the keys for the door and lock it plus the basement bedroom door with a chair in front. She scared me that much. Women are crazy. Good luck internet stranger. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/12/19 01:28 AM
Just don't start dating a copWeather it was a cop or someone else she was going to cheat on you. Hopefully your relationship was in the infant stages and there isnt to much to seperate. Better earlier then later is what I say. Just remember if she did it to you she will do it to him. A leopard never changes his spots. You will pull through. Heads up buddy. Walk proud your not 60 and shes taking everything you've ever worked for. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/19 01:38 PM
My Ex just announced she is ready to introduce the man she's been seeing to our 3 year old daughterHey man just remember if you blow your brains out your just gonna be labeled as the father who couldn't be there for his daughter and took the selfish way out. There is so much more to life and I feel for you cause I do the same thing with my money every month. You cant think about what she does anymore concentrate on yourself and be a dad and do you. If that looks like picking up a hobby or just checking out awesome trails in your area and doing some good walks to clear your head. Just remember… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/09/19 05:51 PM
Existential issuesI'm in the exact same boat as you are! Im moving out of my house on the 6th of July and currently living with my ex wife. All my friends also have kids and the single women that I know are single for one reason for the most part.......gold diggers or cheaters. Not sure what my future holds but I'm thinking about working on myself and my councilor told me about meetup.com. it's a site where people can connect doing sports or hiking or traveling. My friend has used this site after telling him abou… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/06/19 02:54 AM
Divorce final, think I did good.Thanks. That was a great read! It's sad it took you that long to get out of something like that but at the same time I applaud you for standing up and trying to be the bigger person. She will look back down the road and realize what shes lost but it will be to late. Good luck and glad your doing much better stranger. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/06/19 03:10 AM
Advice, Venting, Divorce SucksHey, I know exactly what your going though cause I'm going through the same thing. Only we co- exist in the same home right now and once she signs those papers I'm running as fast as I can out those doors. I've seen her in her best and I've seen the worst of her trying to belittle me and talk smack to me. I've been seeing a councilor which has helped me out a tremendous amount because I tell her what she says and does to me and my councilor has always been able to give me a real answer and it se… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/19 05:00 AM

I am on the verge of a panic attack.I am also going through the same thing. I wanted her to do counciling and she said she was happy with herself and doesn't have any issues. Life will be different in a sense that I wont have dinner made but in the whole scheme of things I'll be better off. I had a friend tell me something during this process. "Something you haven't found yet is better then anything you have left behind." Hope this helps you like its helped me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/04/19 12:10 AM
