Because its not. On the flip side, the only reason I can think for the settlement is if she sacrificed her working years and spent two decades being a stay at home wife, homemaker, raising kids etc etc. Maybe that was the rationale? Otherwise, it's ridiculous.
Insane. Judge clearly didn't know about her drug abuse? Perhaps she spent years raising your kid, stay at home wife, sacrificed her good earning years etc?
