Loophole what? Criminal verses civil offenses? Having a court order to pay verses not having a court order to pay support?

Never said you couldn’t be, I said it’s rare for an individual to be put in jail for the sole charge of failure to pay support/arrears. Shockingly, you can also be a deadbeat parent without ever being ordered to pay child support. Thanks for reading.

I stand by my original statement that being a *deadbeat dad*(or parent) is not criminal offense. Abandoning your child in the custody of the other parent is not a criminal offense. Not supporting your child, financially or otherwise, if there is no active child support order is not a criminal offense. Not exercising visitation as a non custodial parent, if there is or is not a residential parenting plan is not a criminal offense. Failure to pay child support when ordered to do so if a civil offe…

This comparison does not really work, at least in the USA, considering it's not a criminal offense to be deadbeat dad (and truly the only thing they could an obligor of CS for is not paying child support when ordered to do so... not paying child support could lead to civil charges, but rarely result in criminal charges on the basis of lack of child support payments alone), but in many states it is a criminal offense to seek out and have an abortion. Im not saying neither are or are not stigmatiz…

First kiss 15 at summer camp. First relationship 19; first casual sex 18 15 partners; within those 15, 3 were longer term relationships; 2 semi-serious relationship and and one relationship where we dated for 2 years broke up and then got back to together for 3 year. Going on 3 years single and haven't been dating and pretty happy about it. I do not find it unimportant, I like having sex in relationships, but I havent been interested in dating/relationships right now, so I havent been interested…

(HAHAHAHAH I clicked on your hyper links thinking they would take me articles regarding limbic system activity and male to male visual stimulation, but alas they are just links to the Google search pages for the definitions of each part, hilarious stuff man). But seriously, how much of that is nature vs nurture. In the US, we are taught from a very young age that nudity, of any kind, is lewd, sexual, inappropriate, and you should be ashamed if anyone ever sees you outside of sexualized contexts,…

Yes literally women will date “chopped” (a word I have never heard before but love) men who are charismatic and/or funny, etc. because, shockingly, funny people are fun to be around. If all you have is looks (no shame and I also just don’t believe the following metaphorical person exists), man or woman, but no actual desirable personality traits, people who are interested in you as a person, will get bored with your looks and move on. At the end of the day, I genuinely believe people want to dat…

(1) What do you mean by “image you want me a man to see”? Is this primarily a physical image, like clothes, styling, grooming? Or this a vibes/personality/presentation based thing? (2) by “true range of emotions” are you expecting people, women, to wear their full range of emotions/be completely authentic in public social situations? Follow up, do you do this when you’re surrounded by strangers, really think about it, or do you have an adjusted public self? (3) are you selective with who you sha…

Preface: given the binary gendered society, your reasoning is not flawed, but the whole concept of identifying traits as “masculine” and “feminine” is an outdated and flawed social construct. By gender labeling traits, we box people in to a prescribed and limited set of, again outdated norms, such being expected to build the family home, perform back breaking physical labor, and fight for their land. The application of the label “masculine” to traits is inconsistent is because it is, there is no…

So many things need to be addressed to improve life for the modern man (in the US): - Stigma around Men’s mental health (mental health access and continuity is an issue for all genders, but men have the added stigma of needing to keep it together for everyone else) - Stigma around being unmarried/single (men like women should be encourage to go down any pathway they want, such as remaining unmarried or without a partner, but women have far greater social networks and more developed socialization…

This is a completely good faith, there are many reasons people may choose to share information about their sexual assaults or rapes, particularly with people they plan to be intimate, such as: Because they want to, because it can increase of feelings of intimacy that with that person, because the assault still impacts them, following up on that how it impacts them may impact how they have engage in sex, because they feel they have to because there is a societal idea that people who have been ass…

Piggybacking on your comment! It’s also way more societally acceptable for women to express both visual appreciation and arousal surrounding women and women’s bodies. Part of that has to do with the pernicious sexualization of women’s bodies and the fetishization of the ‘perfect heterosexual lesbian’ as whole, but a silver lining of that is nobody automatically assumes a woman is “gay”. Women complementing other women, as a woman, feel as natural as breathing. Quite literally, I hardly even thin…

In my experience, the act of having an orgasm while having PiV sex/during penetration (regardless of whether its clitoral or vaginal orgasm) is a deeply connecting moment with a partner.

"Men also have paternity leave" - they don't need it nor want it, men don't use it. Society only threw them this bone for token equality. Do you actually believe men do not want or need paternity leave? I think many men would love to be able to stay home, bond with, and take on a primary care taking role (or even equitable care role, or supportive care role whatever flavor suits you) in the earliest developmental phases of their children's lives. They are just shamed into not using it for one re…

Ok let's take a lil Claritin then. Aren't multiple men also competing for the same women on dating apps, with their preference to be for the most Stacy (to use aligning terminology) women? Do men not want the "highest value women" on the apps too?

I am open about being a neurodivergent person (edit: I am not singing it from the roof tops, but I also don't conceal it like it's a dirty secret). Life in general is simply more difficult for neurodivergent people. We have to work harder to understand and fit into social norms and often find ourselves masking who we really are as a result. On the neurotypical side, not everyone is willing to take the time to understand (and for lack of a better word work with) neurodivergent behaviors and perso…

Or you could just date/marry someone who is within the a similar educational and professional sphere as you to lessen the need for and/or likelihood of a maintenance/alimony reward. Actually asking for 50/50 custody of children dramatically increases the likelihood of it occurring, leading to a reduced need or complete elimination of child support.

Would you agree that both parties have separate distinct roles in helping close the orgasm gap? Linked by good communication. Women need to actively and effectively communicate their wants and needs and men need to be receptive of women asking for specific things that will help them achieve orgasm. (Obviously this goes both ways with men achieving orgasm as well).

Being upper middle class comes with its own problems: absent parental role models, attachment to substitute care givers and subsequent attachment issues, emotional deregulation from being expected to self sooth, etc. to name a few. But this isn’t the same as having a potential suffering from economic, food, housing, and health instability which is more common when growing up in lower SE families.

Not "invalid" or "shallow", but dating preferences you expect of a potential partner but do not hold yourself too is hypocritical, worthy of judgement and less valid. Big ones are (and these are not gendered): Wanting an unspoiled "virgin" partner, but observing not actively abstinence yourself; wanting a partner who is super into fitness and self-presentation, but putting no effort into your own fitness or self presentation; Wanting a partner who is super clean/tidy, but being a slob yourself; …

Idk, I’m a single woman with a lot of great friendships (with both men and women) and I’m not lonely. Sure, a good relationship could make me more fulfilled, but I’m already pretty fulfilled. So I don’t look at relationships as a need in my life, they’re a want if it’s the right fit.

Your last paragraph conflicts with basically the rest of your post. A woman making 100k a year is not financially dependent on her partner. If she chose to leave, she may experience a decline in quality of life, but she will not be destitute or struggling to survive. That is not a divorce that would result in alimony and I would be quite surprise, if this couple has children and both people want to be involved, that due to their assets they would not get 50/50 custody (if both remained in the sa…

Financial independence leads to personal independence. If you don’t have to be dependent on someone, you do not need to stay with them if they do something unforgivable. You also don’t have to make choices in your life based solely on their financial success.

Most people are of average intelligence and of average success. People who deviate from this in the positive direction tend to be impressive to anyone, regardless of gender. People in general often tend to be “threatened by” (read: jealous of) people who are more intelligent and more successful then them (less so if they are only more intelligent, but not successful), because your right, they are competition, again regardless of gender. People without degrees in psychology and psychiatry are very quick to arm chair diagnose people with catchy buzz phrases like “narcissist” or “traumatized” or “gaslight”. It’s best to avoid listening to non-professionals using those kinds of terminology. It’ll save you a lot of grief. It’s ok to just call someone self serving, self centered, or selfish. Those are not dirty words.

Telling someone to “lift themselves up by their bootstraps” is an a backhanded insult. You cannot actually lift yourself up by your boot straps, it’s an impossible task. So really you shouldn’t be listening to anyone who tells you that, regardless of the subject matter, because they are essentially mocking you. And you shouldn’t have to put up with that.

Red flag behaviors for abuse start off as controlling behavior and consistent violations of established boundaries. Most people are not stupid, abusive people do hide these behaviors, and then sprinkle them in after the investment phase, increasing in frequency and severity. That’s how people wake up 6 months, 6 years or even 60 years later with an abuser. If you want to date someone who goes Dutch, offer to go Dutch after the first date and see what happens. If they rebuff, don’t go on third. I…

If you’re genuinely asking, vaginal canals, like penises, come in different sizes (width and depth) and a large penis can be uncomfortable for some women. Adequate arousal and foreplay can help lessen this discomfort, as the vagina and clitoris engorge with blood and widen with arousal.

Not only does their actual brain mature, but people tend to alter their behavior based on experiences that come with age. This is absolutely non-gendered, if you partner is still partying like a 20 year old in their 30s and you’re not, that is a major rift in behavior. That’s not an equitable comparison. I’m not living with/sharing a life with/sleeping with a colleague. I do not have the same relationship, one with a deepened foundation of trust with a colleague. If a colleague (I’m guessing a male colleague) had a genuine question about menstrual cycles in general, I’d be more then happy to converse about it. That is such a gross and dehumanizing way to think about a person in general. Like their a piece of equipment at the gym and your just getting your reps in before the next person works in. Questions: Do you find any solidarity in women (or people in general) not being objectified? Are you comfortable with people referring to you that way? Are you ok with this mindset (that disproportionately affects women) being applied to men?

I think what these extremist groups (TRP, the manosphere, radical man hating “feminism - does that have a better name?) fail at it is humanizing the other gender. It’s really frustrating to see people be reduced to one or two categories when we should be trying to look at where we align first. There are always going to be shitty people in this world, but I don’t think there’s more or less when comparing men and women.

People in general are not a monolith. Very few people are actually saints. Most (dare I say all) people are complex individuals with many, many facets. Unless we are taking about actual sainthood, the term saint is utterly subjective. As pithy as it is, women are not inherently wonderful, they are people, again, with complex thoughts, feelings and motivation. In this same vein, men are not trash, they are just people with complex thoughts, feelings, and motivation. I say it again because I think…

Super creepy if you have no interest in that hobby and the only reason you’re pursuing it is to date. Not creepy at all if you’re interested in that hobby and choose to persuade it in a group setting to get to know more people, make friends and maybe meet someone. An alternative perspective. It’s not about needing to be in a relationship to be happy, it’s about wanting to be in a relationship and the happiness that adds to both your own and the other person’s life. I’m single. I’m happy. And I am definitely not willing to compromise on certain things if and when I choose to date again. And I’ll admit, my bar after a few relationships under my belt, my bar is higher for what I’m looking for in a partner than it was in the past. Plus, after my last relation…

These are my personal opinions about how someone would successfully hit on me (I should have/and have now edited the post to reflect that). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (though these are my personal preferences and not the law of the land). Read the room before you approach someone. Don’t approach someone in a place they are required to be (during work hours or at their place of employment, on public transport during a commute to work or on their way home). Then I refer you back to my first sentence, there is nothing wrong with cold approaching, just don't hold out for a net positive number of responses. If you need to ask 50 women out to get one date, that's fine, but that's also a lot of metaphorical doors slammed in your face.

There is nothing wrong with cold approaching, just don't hold out for a net positive number of responses. Cold call picking up people is the equivalent to Jehovah's witnesses coming to your door. They have no idea if you want to be saved by Christ, they just saw your house and decided to walk up to it.

Q for you: what are you thoughts on long bone extensions to make people taller? My biggest objection to that is how unsafe it is and the prevalence of adverse effects, it's kind of like the BBL of male body procedures (another unsafe procedure with a 25% plus complication rate).
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 12:54 AM

I hope so too! Obviously I hope the same curtsy is extended to women regarding cosmetic procedures, but when it comes to the penis, that is a man's/penis owner's purview.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 12:51 AM

If it is safe and men want to do it, I feel that is none of my business. I also do not feel a man would “owe” me the truth as to whether he had a procedure like that done. People often get cosmetic procedures done because they do not feel at home in their own body, so who am I to judge someone for doing that. /r/PurplePillDebate14/03/25 10:17 PM

Men supporting each other, without objectifying or denigrating women in the process, is not misogynistic. It’s sad that you feel that there is no way men can express support for one another without it involving women in some way shape or form.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/25 10:12 PM

I would say it’s not men’s direct fault that men are raised to not express emotions or to consider emotional expression outside of anger as weak. Men may encourage this, but we as a society (men, women, all) encourage and shape this behavior from such a young age. With that I think a lot of the social issues men have are the result of early childhood conditioning that we as a whole society should be analyzing and tackling. Particularly men’s relationships to themselves and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/25 07:25 PM

Question: why did women need to improve themselves? And how does that relate in anyway to women not having rights they were entitled to? This is my way of saying that if you believe the point of feminism and equality was to help women improve themselves, you do not really understand the point of feminism or equality. Equality enabled women to be treated the same as men, who arbitrarily decided for all of history that women were worth less than men. Do you feel that the men in that equation were …

(1) Women are not a monolith, in the same way men are not a monolith. (2) That aside, most women, including feminists, do not actually want to subjugate men the way women have been, until this relatively modern era, historically subjugated (in the west, obviously there are places in the world where women do not have equal rights to men). I'd settle for increased equality and equity for all, and a decrease in sexism in both sides. Note: And yes, some men may feel subjugated by the current dating …

That doesn’t make alimony based on gender? They just means that the man was making more money in this situations and the court felt the women in these situations were entities. As women work more the awards of alimony decrease. Yes alimony was originally intended for women because they were the de facto non working party who typically took care of the children. But alimony was never written in gendered terms.

Count question: You don’t think that our changing view point on sexuality as whole, the change in our openness and acceptance towards LGBT etc individuals and queerness as a whole, and the general queer revolution of the early 00s onward has anything to do with why people are more comfortable reporting on surveys that they are LGBT etc? How many people openly admitted themselves on a census or survey as gay in the 1950s (back when it was still illegal). They’re weren’t less gay people back then,…

Biological environmental factors though, not societal. As we’ve seen through out history, the notion that society finds homosexuality is wrong has not “cured” society of homosexuals. I suppose my point is there is also no “women must fuck alphas” genes not could you do a genetic profile on a heterosexual and determine their partner preferences.

So you're first source the way your citing is is misleading. Regarding pornography consumption it states "While the rates of pornography consumption for young adults have been reported to be approximately 75% for men and 30% for women (Carroll et al., 2008)" not 40/60 men women. So really what the article is saying 30% of those who consume porn identify as women, and of that 30%, 60% report having consumed pornography within the last month. A response from another person (man) is: (and I’m paraphrasing) due to men’s typically higher sex drive, regular sex with a partner can be enough to always have being in a relationship be a net positive, even if other benefits like companionship, stability, growth and/or financial are not present.

Unlike men (historical), I’m actually not like thrilled to have a full grown adult as a dependent on myself. I expect my partner to have a job and passions outside of me and the home. I’m not looking for someone who out earns me, but I’m also not interested in being with a house spouse, nor do I think someone would be attracted to me as a house spouse. Yeah thats why I am now realizing why there is a deficit of women wanting to date men, because that's not actually enough of a reason to be in a relationship for a woman (that's hardy a relationship at all), or at least speaking myself. IMO, that is not a high standard for a woman to have.

Yes. That is the point of the whole nature vs nurture debate (where it is generally well settled that they both play fundamental roles in determining who/how a person will be). "The social environment refers to individual’s social interactions and relationships with others in their communities. These interactions can significantly impact people's attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, and values [with attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, and values being the fundamental components of human nature]. The social…

Yes it has. Men absolutely do not need to advocate for equalized pay for men and women working the same positions or having the same job title. OP seemed somewhat confused on the concept, questioning what benefit, if any, men get from equalizing men's and women's pay so that women are paid the same as men in the same position. Men don't benefit, because it has nothing to do with men, nor is it a punishment for men. Edit: ***note: I am not advocating for women to be paid more then men in the same…

So it's your belief that women who earn as much or more then there male partners (in relationships) are still expecting their male partner to be the sole breadwinner and support them and their potential family 100% financially - even when they have their own career and bring money in? Or is it that they still expect their male partner to have a job/career, as there has never actually been a limitation on men having their own job/career, based on gender alone. Because that's the gender role we ar…

"Turns out egalitarianism is a turn off for most progressive women whose progressive views stop at relationships." As a progressive woman, raised by a line of egalitarian women who were happily married until death did them part, egalitarianism in and out of relationships is not a turn off for me. Do you have any sources supporting that 'most progressive women' feel this way? TBH, if that was the tactic used by 1970s to 2000s feminists (and let's remember the right for a person of any gender to h…

Ok, sure have that conversation first. But I still stand on my point that if you are in a non-monogamous/non exclusive relationship with someone (where the woman or both parties are having sex with other individuals) there shouldn’t be any shame in asking for a paternity test. But yes if you’re someone who needs a paternity test even in monogamous, committed exclusive relationship with a partner and need to have a paternity test regardless of question of infidelity, you absolutely should be upfr…

Drug store a tests have a very high efficacy rate, but you can also get a lab test done without the mother’s consent. I work in family law, we represent men in paternity cases, we would never recommend 23 and me, a company that sells your information to the government, as an option.

Oh yeah the hard core (I’d like to say red pill, but tbh I’ve even seen some very reasonable posts by “red pill men”) posts such high value men/women, hypergamy, 80/20 theory, incel-lite aligned ideology - females are x, y, z, stresses on biological imperatives to mate - which typically are posted by someone who actually has no interest in hearing other view points and are only interested in repeating their opinions - are not where it’s at. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh context really matters. As a man, you absolutely should ask for a paternity test in a non-monogamous, non-exclusive relationship you are having with a woman who has told you she is pregnant. There should be no shame in this. I think this even extends to couples in open relationships where the women or both partners are actively having sex with others. It is not illegal to take a paternity test without the mother's consent. Just do it, take the test, have peace of mind. The only thing that is beyond me, is that you seem to have this impression that If you ask your monogamous, exclusive, committed partner for a paternity test (not a non-exclusive or monogamous partner), when there is no hint of misconduct, that you are shocked or upset that they would be shocked or upset.

On a very personal decision making level: Women are now have the choice not have children (at least in Western culture), women now have the choice to not get married or be in a relationship at all. Having children can derail a woman's career (9 months pregnancy, X months nursing, X amount of time staying at home to take care of the baby). Pregnancy is very tough on the body and can cause permanent changes, and now that having children is no longer necessary to be a functional part of society for…

Depends on the reason. Legally you are in the clear. A man has no legal obligation to tell his partner he getting a grocery store/drug store paternity test done. Counter points: You only need to have one exclusive partner to have a potential history of infidelity. Honestly, it’s not the clothing that’s at issue here. It’s the sexualization on the female body (clothed or unclothed) which is so far beyond the secondary sexual characteristics (breast and female external genitalia) which is the problem. I actually don’t know, I just went to check tinder to see if it would provide me the states, tbh I’m one of those people who waxes and and heavily wanes on usage so I’m not a good litmus test. I do know tinder is about 60-70 percent men and 30-40 percent women (not taking into account gender fluid individuals) and I have seen that men generally swipe right on like 90% of women maybe more.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 02:18 AM

You’re aware that women also have testosterone right? Women do not lack testosterone. And I guess I’ll never know as I have not met 90% of the world’s age appropriate men, so I have no way of testing of your claim as to whether I’d only like to have sex with 10% of them.

Ok I accept your opinion, I feel it’s more complex then that and that the assumption that women have a low sex drive/don’t like sex (which creates a self fulfilling prophecy when repeated over and over) is just a perpetuation of our focus on the physiological states of male sexuality/orgasm and our lack of focus on how female sexuality works and has evolved over time. You’re right I misspoke regarding confidence interval and confidence in paternity. I don’t think that invalidates that you’re extrapolating from a sample size of 108 men. But I apologize for providing an inaccurate response.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 08:36 PM

Obviously, we don’t actually know, it likely is higher the 2.3%, but the figure specifically cited as 30-33% is the figure for the number of paternity tests ran with negative results and it cannot be extrapolated to a population wide scale because it’s based on self selected bias sample. The only way to know would be to actually test the paternity of all individuals for a sample population, regardless of question of paternity.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 08:30 PM
1

See my other comment, but basically the population sample is men who ask for a paternity test, not all men having children. So the figure is 33% of men who ask for and have a paternity test It’s essentially self sampling bias, because you’d have to do a study where you actually test the paternity of all born children of a population size (not just the children where paternity is in question) regardless of whether paternity is in question to find the true number of actual number of children who a…

Ok additional data an article states that in 2006 approx 300,000 paternity tests in the US (with the purpose of including or excluding a male as a father) were run and let’s say 33% of those come back as negative (not the father). That’s about 100,000 negative results. In 2006, there were approximately 4.3M births. So 100,000 negative results/4.3M births = 0.023 = ~2.3 percent of births can be assumed to be the result of infidelity of the mother. Of course, not all 300,000 were done at birth, bu…

The cost of a Non invasive Pre-Natal Paternity test is between $1,200-$1,500. So lets take the lowest cost at $300/test X 3.66M births per year = $1,098,000,000 ($1.1B) per year that would be put on the tax payers, for something that not even the majority (as far as I can tell) men actually want. Let's say this w…

“The use of menstrual care products goes back centuries: in ancient Greece, lint wrapped around wood was used as a tampon, and moss as well as buffalo skin were used as pads by Native Americans. In the 18th and 19th centuries, women in Europe used woven fabric or flannel to make homemade cloth pads. These could be washed and re-used, demonstrating a more sustainable and economical option, but still far less hygienic than the solutions many are accustomed to today.” Ok ok you’re right moss was on…

I believe it was bleeding clothes/rags that were washed and reused, which eventually became the foundation for re-usable pads, which then became one time use pads. Tampons first came around in the 1930s.

Contraceptives and birth control are basically a gateway to choice, being able to choose when and if you want to reproduce is revolutionary for both men and women. I think that a complete overhaul in how we view sex, to remove the stigma and shame around it and to remove the competitive nature of the sexual “market” would help as well as the widespread implementation of comprehensive sexual education that both informs that sex is an important decision and educates them on consent, safety, parent…

So basically your view is we should make birth control illegal and teach abstinence only sex education (which generally not endorse or teach students about birth control and contraceptives). Injustice for one gender does not ameliorate or invalidate injustice for another gender. I do not know where you got this idea that I do not feel that the horrors of war (especially the front line) disproportionately affect men now and historically. Two things can exist at the same time. I’m very confused by this response? It wasn’t illegal, women served in some capacity but it was not until the Woman’s Armed Service Integration Act of 1948 in the US that women were allowed to receive regular permanent service status in the military, prior to that they were primarily volunteers. Are you arguing that warfare is horrific and it disproportionately affects men? I agree.

On going backwards vs forwards: As a woman, there is nothing for me in the past. (Barring the overturn of roe v wade), women have never had more rights, freedoms and choices than right here right now. Women have never been able to live as independently as they can now. And these are all things I value greatly. So going backwards is not an option for me and I understand taking that stance entrenches me. Referring to sex as “smashing” is also not a fan favorite. I personally do not think either gender (in a male/female binary) has it better, they each have unique problems, most of which are the result of societal conditioning. Which is why I said I am happy being a woman. It’s not that the grass is greener on one side or the other, it’s just different. I am familiar with the pros and cons of being a woman and I do not want to personally experience a whole new set of pros and cons. (Edit: I would…

In psychology the three determiners of attraction are: (1) Location/physical proximity, (2) physical attraction, (3) and similarity (in personality) So yes physical attraction is a very important aspect of attraction as a whole. Me personally, yes looks are important, I want to be physically attracted to my partner. On the flip side, I’ve been attracted to men and then found we had nothing in common and chose not to pursue sexual relations with them.

Then the premise is lost on me, because humans are not in captivity and we do not live “natural” animal lives that are driven by instinct and biological imperatives. No, women are not wonderful, but women do not live under the societal stigma (which is no fault of mens, it’s a society wide stigma reenforced by everyone) that if they compliment or appreciate one another’s beauty they will be labeled as queer. If my comment did not give them impression that I am not pro allocating more money towards children in need, I absolutely would like the government to revise their budget to provide more money to family’s and children in need. You know, if American wants to federally reestablish the protected right for a woman to have an abortion in perpetuity, then yes I would inclined to agree with your position. Many women site not being able to financially support a child as their reason for an abortion, which they now cannot have due to the overturn of roe v wade, which increase child support payments for women who now must keep the child.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/24 03:29 AM

If it’s all about choice, a child does not choose to be born, nor does it choose to have existed at all. Why should the child suffer for something it did not choose, because one or both of the people who made the choice to have sex which lead to the child’s existence don’t want to provide financial resources for it/them.

Kind of cruel to call a baby a bastard, it’s not its fault it was born. But I digress, in many states if you can prove paternity fraud (ie by the steps I listed) your paternity will be vacated and you will not be made to pay child support. It requires a court order and the court valid test, but usually those costs can be court ordered to be paid by the party that commits paternity fraud.

That is absolutely false. You can buy a paternity test for ~$50 from the drug store. Secretly swab your/the child’s mouth and your own mouth. Send it off to the lab and get the results in under two weeks on your phone. If the child is not yours, you then go to the court open up a case under parentage/paternity, have a court valid paternity test ordered (under the mothers expense if you ask) and have your name legally removed from any documentation stating the parents. Ok, (1) being financially dependent on your parents during college (while a privilege) is not abnormal. Many parents support their children during this time, which allows them not to work, so they can be fully focused on their studies. (2) You’re not dating a 32 year old who is still dependent on his mother and you are not financially supporting your boyfriend (paying for his apartment, expenses, tuition, etc.) at this time. IMO, I am not sure if that equates to you “building up a man” just for …

Which is why I didn’t mention repeating something at a drive through or chasing after a piece of paper, those are definitely not icks for me. Someone getting heated at a drive through worker, though, for having to repeat an order would be a total ick for me. I mean ick basically means gross. It’s the trendy word for behaviors you find gross, therefore eliciting disgust, [and disgust is a universal human emotion felt by every human in every culture].

Eh, I feel like perceived shortcomings of masculinity is a bit of stretch. “Ick” is defined by Urban Dictionary as: “something someone does that is an instant turn-off for you, making you instantly hate the idea of being with them romantically.” Some 'icks' off the top of my head: doesn't trim their toenails; road rage; doesn't wash their hands; doesn't read; doesn't keep up with politics; does not get dressed up for situations where one would be dressed up; always has to be right; flakes on pla…

“You don’t have to say they’re unattractive, but don’t try to pretend it’s something else” So lie. If it’s a brief encounter, you really only have looks to go off. If it’s someone who you’re friends with and the actual reason you do not want to be with them is they are unattractive. Your advice is to lie. I feel like that the kind of honesty men are really looking for. Can I not just be super honest and say “I am not physically attracted to you.” It puts the onus on me in the end.

I can’t believe I am about to say this, but being a decent person and being polite to people, treating all genders are equal, are/should be the bare minimum requirements for being part of a society. This is where I feel like the disconnect starts because really nobody wants to be with an asshole and nobody wants to be with an abuser. Many abusive situations, regardless of gender, start with excessive politeness and love bombing. While those things are not positive, they give the impression that …

You know what, on that point regarding marriage, I will consider my view point expanded! Honestly as a woman, I hear about the obligation of traditional marriages, and perhaps that does color my opinion. Are there accounts of women choosing love, or is a predominantly male narrative? Love existed sure, but was the love the primary motivation for partnership and marriage for most of human history. No. Marriage was a transaction for power or resource consolidation. If love happened, that is a bonus on an otherwise strategic arrangement between families. And if we’re talking outside marriage, the cohabitation of unwed couples is also a relatively modern concept. So historically the kind of relationship you’re describing is ascribed to marriage, and marriage for love is relative…

Then I guess I just believe in/am not convinced by your premise. I don’t feel that loving yourself equates to individualism. You can love yourself and love someone else equally, love is not a finite resource to be used up. But you are responsible for your own well being first, you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of other people. This does not mean you need to be 100% healthy or perfect, not even close. But you have to be actively taking care of yourself to be able to be in…

I think your premise is too black and white. Fact: your lover/partner should not be the ONLY PERSON in your life acting as a therapist, parent, and doing emotional labor for you. It is toxic to a relationship if you expect your lover/partner to be the ONLY PERSON who is/can play these roles in your life. It is toxic to put that much pressure/responsibility on a single individual under the guise that that’s just what love is. It is not reasonable to ask someone to be your only source of intimacy.…

Feminist movements historically were about equality and equity for all, but at the time they were started we were living in a inherently patriarchal system where women specifically suffered from a lack of rights when compared with men. Some modern movements have lost the touch with the the most basic tenants which were all people of all genders are created equally and there is no lesser sex.

The United States and all western societies were historically patriarchal. To deny this is to deny history. On a federal level (I.e. federally protected rights), Women could not vote, women could not own property, women could not control their own money, women were barred from receiving higher education, women were barred from entering the paid workforce etc. these are the signs of the a patriarchal society. I consider myself a feminist. I can agree that the patriarchal theory holds less to little weight in today’s modern, specifically western, societies. There is place for increased equality for all, but I also respect that men have put in last place in many ways at the expense of the feminist movement, and there are issue specifically affecting men that we as a society push to the side because we punish all modern men for being forced to historically live in a patriarchal based society (see below)…

I think that the various feminist movement(s) can be separated from the partiarchial theory at it's core. If you look at feminism as just creating as much equality between all individuals as possible, there are a lot of movements and causes that are not specifically in line with defeating the "patriachy". Breaking bad follows an epic hero story (originating from the Mesopotamian epic, Gilgamesh). Epic Hero Story’s can be inherently masculine because the original epic hero story was also about a man, but contains the classic hubris gets them in the end. So you agree, cold calling (like cold approaching) is numbers game and with a statistically low return of interested parties rate. I commend you though cold calling for a living takes skill and the returns are still very clearly rough.

Think about it like this: A cold approach is essentially the same as cold calling someone trying to sell them something or cold soliciting (example mormons going door to door), Why: When you cold approach someone, you know next to nothing about them except: 1) They are in the same physical location as you 2) What they physically look like With that in mind, you are already coming in at a disadvantage, because under 1) you don't even know if they enjoy being at the location they are at, but you c…

It is hateful towards your partner to want someone* (who knows who) to lobby on your behalf to allocate over 1.0B in tax payer money to mandate paternity tests when the mass majority of men do not claim to want one. Frankly if you’re asking for a paternity test before birth, with no real basis (I am not including times when the man has real tangible evidence or very clear evidence the mother has cheated), the trust is already gone so why not just do what I proposed in my original comment. I hate advising this, but I work for a law firm and frankly more men should know this, If you want a paternity test, just secretly pay for one immediately after birth (they are between $20-$100), and send it to a lab, they will send the results with 99% accuracy right to your phone in two week. if you are not alone with the child at least once sometime within the first few weeks, lol you may be a bad parent regardless of the paternity. Today since women work and can support themselves their standards have gone through the roof and the men who are getting the most attention are the men at the top. It's almost like now that woman can bring something to the table other than their wide birthing hips, they expect the men they pursue to bring at least as much or more to the table (accounting for the general trend that men are typically higher earners then women who hold the same position as them). What a shocker *gasp

The things you cite, that women are asking men to fix, seem to be specific requests in the realm of being a relationship, and in this specific case a relationship between a man and a woman. When you are in a relationship, I think we can generally agree you can ask your partner for more then the average person. So, yes I agree either partner is allowed to ask their partner to give "special care to female [their] emotionality [and] all that "emotional labor" stuff." Additionally, in a relationship…

Also seeing this in another comment but hoping people have corrected you, the female equivalent of the male vasectomy is a fallopian tubule ligation (tubes tide procedure), not a hysterectomy (which is usually done when there is a problem with the uterus, such as cancer or problem during child birth to name two). It’s all about intention. Jumping to solutions can often feel more like unsolicited advice (which we’ve all been on the other end of and it’s super annoying). Sometimes people (women in your example) just want to be heard and to cry or be mad and to not think about a solution in that instant. Tbh, I’ve found what’s helped me is actually asking “do you want just a listening ear or would you want advice/solutions” and then go from there.

Religious incompatibility is totally a thing though, I'm making an assumption, but wouldn't you prefer to be with someone who also has a religious faith (compatible with yours) and would be open to raising children under that faith. Its not really a "there's something wrong with you thing", it's more of an early sign of incompatibility. Even if you're very low key about your religious views.

Dead bedroom can be a result of sexual incompatibility between partners, or a result on one parter (typically the woman) not feeling arousal in general because of a lack of understanding of one and often both partners on how to properly arouse a woman. If you solve that problem, dead bedroom can be resolved.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/23 10:01 PM

There is a lot of unintentional assumptions made about female sensuality/sexuality due to sexuality and sexual drive often being viewed in the male lens (how and what turns men on, how men get aroused), when women's arousal pathways are inherently different then mans. I totally recommend the book, Come As You Are, which is about the exploration of female arousal pathways as literature resource to help resolve dead bedroom

Same reasons, tbh We personally have no handled a divorce where it’s the woman or the man has filed for the explicit purpose that they are leaving [their partner] for someone else/an affair partner. You don’t actually have to smile, or wave, or say hi, or engage someone in conversation to be polite and respectful to them.

The problem with “nice guys” (and “nice girl”), seen in the most favorable light to that term possible, is that if your only noteworthy quality is that if your are nice (well mannered, polite, sweet, (I don’t really agree with agreeable) to someone, your basically just checking the boxes of a person who is a decent human to other humans, you shouldn’t expect much more then the same treatment from others. That’s like a bare minimum quality for someone to be likeable individual. If you think that …

I hardly say changeable and improvable physical standards like dressing well/styling oneself, grooming, putting a little extra effort into appearance, smelling nice, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are sky high standards women have of men. I feel there is such a jarring contrast between women's baseline standards and men's baseline standards because many women do the above list of (changeable things, none genetic characteristics) as their baseline of existence + makeup, because this is what …

As female education specifically (and education of citizens as a whole) increases, national birth rates decrease. It's in a countries best interest to emphasize and promote education to all its citizens, educated parents raise educated children.

So I guess by the women’s package if it comes with the pill, it sucks they don’t marker the pill directly for men, in the US the medication (topical treatment or pill treatment for yeast infections do not come with gender specific labels and the only cream thats in the women’s isle is a vaginal suppository, so definitely not a men’s product), it sounds like you infection is topical/skin though not urethral, so idk how effective the pill would be when I’m sure you prescribed some kind of topical …

Also that’s terrible, people say terrible things about the American health care system and insurance but it’s insane that you literally cannot go to a urgent care and ask to be seen by some kind of medical profession to write you a one pill non addictive prescription. And that you have no option to request a same sex medical professional for an appointment involving the genitals. Am I understanding you correctly?

Ok what do you do when you have a medical condition that requires a change in medication. Who do you communicate with to do that? I’m really not trying to be coy or anything here’s it’s important that your infection is treated.

Just to critically look at a few of your statements: Speaking for the state of Washington (a community property state, this means community assets and debts are presumed 50/50 per partner unless petitioned otherwise and separate assets and debts incurred before the marriage remain separate unless petitioned otherwise and you do not need to have a “reason” for getting divorced beyond wanting a divorce ie no fault divorces) Alimony/maintenance Alimony (or maintience) is only awarded for a finite p…

If you felt your care was insufficient with the first doctor, why don’t you just go to another doctor? Next time request a male doctor/medical provider? Women are allowed to ask for female only medical staff, there is nothing barring men from asking for the same but with male medical staff. I guess my question is, if you had the exact same expirence (unsureness of the treatment, additional reading, etc. with male medical professional and you felt you care was incomplete, wouldn’t you just go to …

Are you attracted to women? What’s your definition? There must be some kind of paradigm women that ticks your boxes

There is no definition because non-incels don’t use the verbiage “high value” to describe people lol

It’s a non-existent term that I put in to mirror the language of “high value” man in your original comment (I followed your example, though I corrected some of your spelling errors) I suppose it’s whatever men like you would define a ‘high value’ person as. People are people and value is subject in humanity. We clearly do not have aligning philosophies and that’s ok.

Fair enough, asked and answered. Truly, no notes. Thank you for the riveting educational lessons on psychology, sociology, history and biology.

Question: By your logic: Does his sexual history matter? What if he’s slept with 60 women, paid for 11 abortions and had 5 different stds, and now wants to settle down (in equality) without judgement … with a ‘high value’ woman (lol) they deserve.

ok.. so I have reviewed a few sources on the empathy gap (which was very interesting, thank you for the recomendation), which essentially boils down to -- during time of intense emotion (which really seems to be defined as times when the sympathetic nervous system is revved up, we are flooded with stress hormones, blood is diverted from the prefrontal context to the mid brain to make "evolutionary" based fight or flight decisions), we as humans do not make logical decision during times of peak e…

weird take, but I actually agree with you regarding men's need for higher caloric intake, and that makeup is not a necessarily and the cost should be on the consumer. Or shaving, something men and women both do. But what is the male equivalent for the female menstrual cycle and associated products? Like bleeding out of the vagina for about 7 days a month, 12 months a year, for 30-40 years of life and needing specific products (at cost to the consumer) for this so women can function in society ki…

How would you approach having a conversation/debate with someone with a radically different political orientation as you? Typically if you’re debating someone with the sole intention of changing their mind or having them align with your beliefs, and if this doesn’t occur you consider it a failure if you do not accomplish this, it doesn’t work. So maybe try having a conversation where you’re just trying to exchange and relay opposing view points, you’ll probably both walk away a little dissatisfi…

Question: If women are the biggest voting bloc, why don’t more men just vote then? They could vote on mass against the political platforms/initiatives that pander to women.
