It’s not about what were supposed to expect If you plan on initiating physical conflict, anticipating opponent's response should be the first thing on your mind. Either that or you've led a very spoilt, sheltered life.

That wasn't self defence, that was revenge. We're on the same page. But the point is that the guy in the video doesn't seem to think so. For him, all's fair. Unfortunately there are many like him. This is why it's kind of naive to expect a proportionate response all the time.

That wasn't the immediate response. That was after the fact, after the threat has stopped. For you. For me. And perhaps for many others too. Clearly it wasn't for that guy. This is what I'm trying to say. With some people, you don't get to have the luxury of drawing the line, especially when you're the one who started the fight.

I'm not denying all that. Just saying that the immediate response on ground doesn't necessarily follow a logical or legal path.

When you push someone to the edge, don't expect rational and proportionate response in return.

Look, when you start a fight, especially with someone bigger and stronger than you, it's a bit naive to expect proportionate retribution. What you're saying works in theory, but that's not how the real world works.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
