Personally? I'd like it the other way around. Both the accuser and the accused should have anonymity until the dust settles. That would remove nearly all of the bite from a false accusation and solve most of the topic's issues.

Wow, really nice commercial. Shame there aren't any comments or ratings allowed, in my experience these sorts of videos tend to get mostly positive responses on youtube. Or maybe I've been really lucky and I've only seen positive examples.

My god, there is very little more disgusting than people with crippling fears of looking like assholes treating due process and "innocent until proven guilty" as anything other than fundamental rights, just because it feels heartless to even suspect that the crying, terrified-looking woman who accused a guy might be lying. As an aside, the yearly donation of a dollar, I've heard of that before. It's not actually meant to be a monetary punishment, it's more of a subtle tacked-on "make sure you never forget what you did" thing. The point is that every year, on the anniversary of the kid's death, she's forced to think about what happened. In other cases it actually seems like it would work fairly well as part of a punishment, especially if it actually were an accident. But you can't seriously argue that in this case.…

I've actually heard before that "women and children first" was only ever implemented 1 or 2 times, the titanic being one of them, and that in other cases that was indeed the tendency for how people behaved. It sounds kinda farfetched to me (though admittedly anybody can get crazy in mortal peril) and I haven't seen anything to corroborate it, but at any rate I've heard this before, so I'm guessing the mod got it from somewhere rather than inventing it his or her self.

It's such a shame. We're more inclined to believe that a man is evil than we are to believe that a woman has agency. If that's how it appears, I'm sorry. What I meant was that I think a huge part of the reason why we have so much trouble with our cause is because society has a hugely skewed idea of what it means to be a bigot, causing them to instinctively avoid us like the plague, and chronically fail to see their own instinctual biases in themselves.
