11	Go out alone In my experience you only portray lower social status if you're just roaming around the bar aimlessly and/or hovering around people you just met. Instead, get in early, stick by the bar and make friendly banter with those around you (some will be receptive, some won't). If you can smoothly chat up enough people, you're bound to find some people that you click and get buddy buddy with, with some welcoming you into their group. Rinse and repeat, if desired. 1	What's your go to club/bar "opener"? For the bar/club scene, I don't think there is going to be a universal opener. Unless a guy/girl is clearly looking for your attention, you're going to need to say something at least slightly relevant to get them to not blow you off. However I'll often ask random people what they're drinking / how much they paid for it. I've had plenty of convos start from just that and even lead to hanging out / drinking / dancing that whole night with them (guys and girls).
