Abusive mothers are actually more common than abusive dads - gets a bit of media attention finallyMy first boyfriend had an abusive mom - we went to school together and we all thought he was just being vain when he started working out all the time at about age 12. Turns out he was getting strong enough to protect his little sister from his mum :'( | /r/MensRights | 25/06/18 10:12 PM
Hardline feminist Clementine Ford's Lifeline speech is cancelled after thousands demanded the charity remove her as keynote speaker for tweeting 'all men must die'The title says she tweeted "all men must die" but the screenshot is "kill all men" - that's a big diff, if you ask me. The former could be a statement of fact, and construed as poetic. The latter is just violent. | /r/MensRights | 15/05/18 06:26 PM
This is how they think- the bus crash in Canada wasn't so bad because only white males died. It's pure bigotry.I think she's talking about the amount of attention it's getting... | /r/MensRights | 10/04/18 06:59 PM
Engineering schools is "open to taking on female applicants without the usual mathematics qualifications" | This is how you get collapsing bridges. This harms women as much as men - who will believe a woman's degree from this place when they know that academic standards are lowered for women? And how exactly does it help women attain equality if they're told they don't need to achieve as much as men? This is the modern version of "don't worry your pretty little head about it." | /r/MensRights | 29/03/18 12:04 PM
People are complaining that International Men’s Day exists and that “International Women’s Day” searches don’t rise on International Men’s Day, and they don’t realize that that’s because nobody knows when International Men’s Day is. That’s the whole point. To be fair I also didn't know it was international women's day, until someone mentioned how the international men's day searches spike... | /r/MensRights | 09/03/18 02:15 PM
Google Manager to Employees: "Next time you get invited to speak at a conference, especially if you’re a white male – ask the organizer to confirm you’re the only white male on the panel / in the speaker lineup. If not, say you are honored, but must decline, and give the reason."Nonono, it's that people of different races/genders are fundamentally different and so in order to have diversity of thought we must have diversity of appearance. After all, it's all about how you look - in fact studies have shown that you can tell everything about a person and their opinions just by looking at them! /sarcasm so hard that I shouldn't even have to mention it, but after all this is reddit... | /r/MensRights | 04/02/18 08:46 PM
Vice News calls r/mensrights a misogynist subredditaka vice is pop news, aka reliant on pop culture. I agree with your points, and it's fair to call pop culture wrong, but it's silly to get mad at vice about it. Vice is the product of pop culture, of course it's calling this misogynist...Still, I wouldn't ever be proud about that. | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 10:14 PM
Vice News calls r/mensrights a misogynist subredditIn answer to your question: idgaf where you bash feminism, it's the internet, you can do that literally anywhere...but vice might call the place you do it misogynistic, and no one should be surprised by that... | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 08:28 PM
Vice News calls r/mensrights a misogynist subredditI'm not saying don't bash it, I'm saying this is why Vice is calling this reddit misogynist - because it's bashing feminism, which is indistinguishable from misogyny according to pop culture. | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 06:20 PM
That AskReddit thread about women being creepy is just awfulThat depends on where you live actually. In some places it is legal. | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 06:19 PM
Florida Cop Brings K-Y Jelly To Convicted Shooter's Sentencing | The only accurate use of the term "rape culture" is the one it was created for: men's prisonsgood point...but I was trying to say that if the 1 in 4 number refers to sexual assaults, it seems low, not high. | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 06:18 PM
Vice News calls r/mensrights a misogynist subredditYea but feminism isn't a set of racist laws. Nominally, it's supposed to be about making women and men equal by fighting for women's rights. That shouldn't be (in theory) opposed to men's rights. | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 06:18 PM
Vice News calls r/mensrights a misogynist subredditI mean the circumcision thing defs didn't come from feminism. That was exclusively a religious thing as far as I can tell. Rape culture in prisons also definitely has nothing to do with feminism, prisons being gender segregated as a general rule. I mean, it seems to me the big things posted on this sub tend not actually to be related to feminism (unless they're specifically bashing feminism). I see your point that bashing feminism is not the same as misogyny, but vice is pop news, you can't expe… | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 05:20 AM
Florida Cop Brings K-Y Jelly To Convicted Shooter's Sentencing | The only accurate use of the term "rape culture" is the one it was created for: men's prisonsOh, I didn't realize the 1 in 4 thing came from a specific place. I'd love to read it, if you have the source. The thing is, every woman I know has been sexually assaulted (and I don't mean stares), so it's not a hard number to believe. Tbh, I'd be shocked to find a woman over 20 who hasn't been, at some point, sexually assaulted. In most cases, the women also just don't give a fuck - it's not worth fighting. | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 05:17 AM
Vice News calls r/mensrights a misogynist subredditBut if you wanna talk about men's rights, talk about men's rights. If you wanna bash feminism, the men's rights subreddit seems like an odd place to do it. Also, it makes r/mensrights look misogynistic, which is what Vice said.... | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 02:50 AM
Florida Cop Brings K-Y Jelly To Convicted Shooter's Sentencing | The only accurate use of the term "rape culture" is the one it was created for: men's prisonsI'm genuinely curious, though - does that mean rape alone? Because I thought the 1 in 4 number was for sexual assault. So if your one study is looking at rape accusations (aka some kind of non-consensual penetration) but the 1 in 4 stat is about any sexual assault (ass grabbing, tit grabbing, etc) that would really explain the discrepancy. Also, I think you should consider that pretty much every woman gets sexually assaulted at some point but no one bothers to report that because there's usually… | /r/MensRights | 04/12/17 02:39 AM
