So yeah, it's interesting to hear from you, that patriarchy theory is influental but it's not an integral part that defines feminism, but here on the internet it seems to be. That is probably true. We absolutely don't accept the idea of patriarchy and male privilege. A couple of things: 1) Do you believe this defines feminism? I define feminism as political, economic and social equality of the sexes - [so does the dictionary.] (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feminism) 2) What exactly do you mean? The figure cited by Bode includes interest and penalties. This goes back to 2002. Not sure if the penalties include attorney fees, but if they do, my guess is that the lion's share of the award is fees and interest.

If you have cites, I'd be happy to look at it. But I'm not throwing away reinterpreting CDC data because someone on reddit makes an unsourced claim. Even redefining rape, the best you can get to is three times as many female victims. To get any further you have to make more claims than you can source. This is a national study - if there are methodological problems, there will be published criticism.

Well, DV is a whole separate can of worms, but if you have specific cites... I'm honestly not sure what accounts for the 12-month versus lifetime (nor are you) - it may be that less serious offenses (sex while intoxicated, for example) aren't remembered as well - but, like your explanation, that's completely speculative. Men are even less likely to report, women even more likely to overreport. Is there someone who posited this with respect to the CDC? Or is this your own theory? Something published (and preferably peer-reviewed is what's needed). Well, I think the disparity is explained because the 12-month figures you're using for men includes all forms of sexual violence - it is not limited to rape. See above reply.

Your entire premise is that men get raped as often as women. You cited 2010 CDC, but it does not support that. I am very interested in facts, but be accurate. Don't just make a claim and not be prepared to prove it up - particularly when the factual assertion is the basis of your argument. As for lifetime stats: 1) why wouldn't we use lifetime stats? and 2) the non-lifetime stats appear to be with respect to sexual assault and not rape.
