Get a number, call them, arrange a time and place. /r/okcupid might help you (if you use that site) to improve your profile and messaging. As long as your message includes a lot from the girl's profile and indicates thought, you're already better than average. Having clear and recent photos takes you up another notch. Sometimes, they sometimes don't reply back. Don't take this personally, and move on.

Showing pictures where you're from must also be fun to share. By being significantly different than most people around, you already have her curiosity.

There's still the social cues/body language/conversation that comes with online dating. It's when you put the computer down and meet the person. Dating sites are a tool, a means to an end, to weed out a lot of women you otherwise would've wasted time on, and to organize second dates if necessary (though that really should be done in person or over the phone). The rest seems like boilerplate stuff that happens every generation (fear of rejection, approach anxiety, making dates interesting, unreal…

Don't try to do too much. Sometimes simple is best. Multiple light kisses can be easily escalated. They are hard to screw up. A French kiss won't give you opportunities to dial back.

Ask their names, have her talk about them. Offer a genuine opinion, probably leaning towards optimism. Are you going to use that for Facebook? "Nice." You're making me hungry. Or "wish I could eat with you." Or post a recipe of something you plan on cooking and invite her over. (assuming you have a kitchen/know how to cook) Can't wait to see you. I'd avoid sending back these types of pictures unless you have been with the girl for a while or are dating her exclusively.

Just emphasize the degree bit, you'll eventually move out once you have an occupation lined up. You'll have to network sooner or later anyway; flirting helps with that.

I wasn't planning to. After some thought, it probably wouldn't be worth the effort. General advice on profile and message content would probably be more useful. The dating & sexual escalation stuff belongs here.

Good points. Maybe bits from OP's profile that you think inspired unsolicited messages, and how you communicated in messages.

Cross post to /r/okcupid. Maybe you can offer some valuable advice. The panties in the fist is an inspired step...and I'm interested by your take on high heels. Is it simply impossible to feel sexy in running shoes?

I don't know what's more impressive, your skill or alcohol tolerance.

Everything you write on that shirt is a risk. Better to take one than shy away

This is the best one. Inviting people to come closer and establish physical contact is better than any cheesy line.

As a fellow hybrid Asian, it should be easier for locals to accept you. Though my experiences are from China, speaking English but expressing interest in their language or culture helps a lot. And yes, Cambodia and Thailand are fish in a barrel. Also, /u/TofuTofu might help you.

Well, the mother complex is hardly alpha. Still, his ability to tease and insult women in novel ways should be noted.

He's mad that you got Rinoa instead of Quistis. In all seriousness, I agree with your post. Though women may be helpful with some of the emotional aspects of long term dating (showing spontaneous signs of affection) or gauging your relationship.

Considering most of my flirting is verbal, and I'm soft-spoken, clubs are terrible. However, bringing a friend to one is another story. Alternatively, going there to dance isn't too bad. Concerts venues are more fun to dance/rock out, since they usually have more room.

It is a good technique. I personally use it because moving my legs requires less thought than figuring out where to put my hands.

You can be awkward and still win. Btw, NSFW tag yet? His interview with Lisa Ann is absolutely hilarious.

What if men were involved? in any case, pretty much any touch, even a playful slap, is a good touch.

Call her to hang out, and if it happens again, just do a lot more foreplay. I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

An AMA about exercising caution in Thailand. But it is a great place (the Bamboo Bar in Bangkok's a great jazz club, and Koh Samui is like a raw, untamed Hawaii). I remember one club, Bed, where I managed to find game. First I flirted with Australians in one room, playing "Spot the person who paid for their date" game, even getting kissed on the cheek. This was after, I seemingly failed when flirting with two locals on the other room. Right before I leave the club, while climbing the stairs, one…

Apparently, asking about the taste of beer was considered to be a useful guide as to whether she'll be more open to sex in general.

Actually, during the Classic Car Rally, he was a stud (he managed to win and got a kiss IIRC). Here's an outtake. And he's quite shy about it too.

Personally, I do find it awkward to flirt in front of relatives. But it's ok...you can eat there again right?

Well, I managed to do well just by talking about certain items in the profile (she was <90% match) and the foreign city in my profile. I also discussed dating a lesbian ("We had a lot in common") which was the secret I was willing to admit, generally joking around while she was naturally curious to begin with. I casually mentioned a restaurant I would be going to, and whether she was interested in join in. She gave me her number, and it just clicked (an hour date ended up being 3). 1st date was …

Getting girls to laugh comes naturally to me, and it does get #-closes and first dates (with a little amount of negging), even on short conversations, but success on the subsequent stages or long term relationships is something else. Maybe it's my absurdist style, but I have trouble understanding what people are thinking, but I do know what would crack them up.

Weird...I find that gay males are far more aggressive in pursuing people, and I'm a straight man who's pretty shy and quiet. In my experience, dressing well (suit with longcoat, or a leather jacket) and having my hair trimmed was all I needed to do to attract their attention. They literally made me feel like a beautiful woman. It's funny to get the other side of the coin...they're the ones doing the talking, and you don't have to do much more than listen and consume their drinks. Oddly enough, t…

For me, it was a weird experience. Just in one club, I managed to talk to two Aussie girls (and got a cheek kiss with both of them) by playing the "who paid for their date tonight" game. So go with travelers. As for a Thai girl, just smiling and saying "I'm from the US" was pretty much all I needed. I had pretty much no game thanks to translation issues (I'm a pale white-looking Asian), but surprisingly she tried to pull my pants down on the stairs, and, in my drunken state, I spanked her. This …

Very true. Also, the train's a great place to start a conversation. In places like DC, there's just a higher quality (in terms of young age/success) of people than, say, the bus.

Damn, but I like wearing my Oakleys. In any case, though, congrats on your makeover, and great point about how women judge through emotion. /used to wearing glasses since 3. Mild astigmatism though.

Agreed. It worked for me in the DC Metro and in Minnesota. For me, it isn't too creepy if I mention what general area I'm going to (downtown) and wonder where she is going. I, more often than not, get a working phone number for my efforts. Once I even got a hug. Another time, strawberry wafers. At the very least, the commute becomes much shorter. But I'd never pull that stuff in NY. Or with a person who's clearly into her music or a book.
