Shit like this just reenforces the fact I made the right choice when I decided not to have kids. *the right choice for me.

Me too! I drink coffee every day (caffeine). My wife smokes so I get second hand nicotine, oh I had a sinus infection last year so let us not forget antibiotics! :D

Your statement assumes med, vet and grad students cannot afford to go to classy bars. You identified cost as an issue. It is pretty easy to go during happy hour have 2 or 3 cocktails and a half price appetizer and leave with a pretty cheap bill while experiencing nice ambiance, good conversation and meeting new and interesting people. As a former grad student I can attest that not all of us are dumb and can typically find a way to have fun while in still in school with limited funds. That being …

I've known dumb medical, vet and grad students (male and female). I don't understand how your arguement is relevant. I am not going to waste my time fighting with you when all I was doing was making suggestions to the O.P. If you don't like it downvote it. Go troll/fight with someone else cause I am done here. *ok upon further review I personally have not know any dumb vet students, but I do know dumb med and dumb grad students.

Not mutually exclusive and I have encounter more spoiled/rich girls in college towns at the $2 Tues. night bar than I have at nice bars.

Not really sure, but even if there are not young girls in the book club the old ones probably have daughters and you will already have made a good impression on the mother by being that "bright young man" in the book club who "has interesting insights" on the topics.

The library, the museum, do you have any high end bars? Not the college $2 Tuesday night bars but classy bars where you need to dress up to get into? Any movie theatres that show art house films? Book clubs? Take a cooking class. Take an art history class. Any national parks/forests/monuments around you?

“If you were on a sinking ship and yelled, "Women and children first!" how much feminist opposition do you think you'd get? . . . Women want to fight men for equal pay, but how often do they fight a man for the check? . . . And any man who questions a woman's physical capabilities gets branded a sexist -- but who do they call when there's a spider to be killed? Convenient feminism -- crackpot theory or dangerous lunacy?” -Bill Maher

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
