I don't think you should stress. If you're confident after your weight loss, are nice (or at least friendly with girls you like), have ok clothes, a job, and good hygiene, just be sure you have conversation skills and things to talk about. You'll get laid if you reach out. Try dating apps, speed dating events and networking. Ask people out

Interesting post but unsure if this is the right sub for this post? Either way I think your assessment of the state of most of those relationships is right. I was in an abusive relationship and that guy actually pressured me to post photos of us and happy things, so I did it to placate him. It's annoying but you don't really know if they're pressured to do it. Obviously would be better if they left the guy (or the other way around, there's lots of abusive women, they just don't get caught as muc…

I had a friend that got with younger women frequently, but he was pretty attractive so they typically approached him. His big draw was that he actually had similar interests (every collectable card game ever, music, books, cartoons/anime, etc.) So if you happen to have the time while studying, find out where your demographic hangs and "like" those things (usually better if genuine, but I know he b-sed sometimes). Always the best ice breaker as it is. He tended toward his college campus, the libr…

When you catch her looking at you and she breaks eye contact first, or keeps looking back and smiles a little. Sits near you and actually starts the conversation maybe (though it's not always flirting, sometimes just making friends). If when chatting she touches you in any way usually means there's interest (since you prefaced it's someone you just met/don't know). If she bites her lip or blinks a lot while chatting, or if her voice is exceptionally high (when I'm with my bf my voice is like, 2 …

None of what you said contradicts what I've said elsewhere in this comment thread, and the evidence supports my point. You might not be inferring that, but some of the other people are if you look into their post history.

I can completely agree with that. I think there are two primary factors: the need to feel like we aren't driven by primal desires too because socially we're conditioned to think it's slutty, and how many women don't like being direct because they don't like to deal with hurting people's feelings- not selfless, but selfish- finding kind ways of saying the truth takes a lot more work than just lying

The truth is there aren't any. The why behind arousal is just as hard to figure without introspection for men as women- many actually do know what they like, it's just most people don't like to consciously accept their attractions as what guides their lives. TLDR; he thinks he's using science to prove women are have inferior reasoning

Most people have no idea what they want. Saying it's only women is kind of condescending.

Instinctively people distrust those they can't read the eyes of, plenty of studies have proven this, even in film. Pretty neat read, I'd like to see their complete study!

If you drink coffee or tea there are plethoras of other options. Just usually not a good idea to bother people at cafes in the evening unless they look like they're just hanging out. It's the ones working and lounging in the daytime/early evening that are more likely to engage in conversation. Meetup.com if you have any hobbies, you can join a group and meet people. Dating apps and recommend dinner or coffee/tea instead of alcohol

Maybe you're just going after girls that aren't into you? Do they need to be white or is it that the area that you live in is predominantly white? Either you need to broaden your scope or you're going for the wrong girls.

But the people that I have met are the same as how they portrayed themselves. I have become fuck buddies, friends, and even casually (non-exclusively) dated from apps so how can you make those broad statements? How can you "guarantee" something if you weren't the one on the date haha. You're making assumptions about "all people", when you're assuming I'm attracted to liars or don't have the judgement to see through b-s. Paragraph 2- I'm not sure about this, I'm new to dating women and from what …

I guess it depends what you consider a waste of time. Seeing if I even have anything in common before bothering to meet because I actually like conversation (or perhaps at least to find out if you're sexually compatible) to me isn't a waste of time. I know it might be to some people, so it's good when those people stop messaging. Those are usually the guys that last minute booty call anyway. Endless messaging is different than asking someone to wait a little while. But if a guy gives up from one…

Take it on a case by case. But generally how would I even know if I like/have common interests without texting, a phone convo, or Skype call? I prefer that to blindly meeting. Those things can be 5 min out of your day for a couple of days, while going on a date ...I want to make sure I look nice (up to 1.5 hours if I do something special with my hair since it's really curly normally), I'm nervous and self-conscious, have to figure out a time, place, date that works for us both, and I generally h…

Can't tell if you were accidentally making puns or if you're just that good haha. But I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes it is hard arranging dates. Sometimes I even have trouble where, if I suggest a date the following week because I'm busy with work/school the guy ghosts. Because they want sex now XD not my fault I'm busy some weeks.

You seem to have misread. Number of messages doesn't matter as much as the patience. So my logic does make sense. Read /u/Tenmagnet s response. They articulated my reasoning even better than I did. That's absolutely why I have someone wait. It's annoying to be asked to drop your life immediately for a stranger for a date that might suck too, so if they are patient I'm willing to go out of my way. But hey, if you're having success on Tinder, that means you aren't coming across as creepy. You aren…

This is exactly why I do that. Even though it's a hook-up app I like no pressure hookups. And from time to time you have INCREDIBLE chemistry and might want to have a long-term fwb, and I just generally vibe better with patient and polite guys that have confidence and aren't desperate. Sounds like a tall order, and I'm not saying they don't have any insecurities, but I just mean that have confidence they won't lose my interest if I say I'm not ready to meet "yet" :)

Here's the downfall or that plan- I usually won't meet someone after just 5-6 back and forths unless it's another girl. With guys I have to screen for overly aggressive, clingy, and crazy. If a girl is crazy I can just ditch her, if a guy is crazy I worry for my physical safety. So, yes, some women will meet quickly. But a lot won't meet THAT quickly. For me it was more- if a guy was willing to text (however infrequently) for about a week, I'd set up a date. Didn't ever bang on the first date ev…

Yeah she probably wanted you to try to at least say what you wanted to say. I'm sure she'd understand "beautiful" or "pretty". Usually using a lot of synonyms with people that only know a little English helps. Doubt it'd go very far but if it did it'd at least be important to know how to communicate (could end badly if she claimed you forced her or something).

Offer to mow their lawns or help around the house, especially if they're a divorcee (I'd be cautious using this approach on a married woman, if you've seen S1 of "True Detective" you'd know that doesn't exactly play out well with the husbands). I'm young myself, but handymen are hot to women of all ages, at various ages.

He's actually wrong about the bodyfat percentage. 12% is when men want 6 packs haha (tends to show from 5-13% in men) For women, a healthy body fat can be anywhere between 14% (very low end if athletic, usually skinny or muscular, and lower than that women tend to lose their period) to 24% (high end of fit, could be average weight or slightly overweight, but still fit). To have abs usually women are in the 12-18% range, unless they build them up to show through the fat, and can be even up to 20%…

If you can't shop at a boutique at 5'3", you are plus sized petite. Those sizes exist at Macy's and clothing stores with great selection. I get that you mean you aren't "Lane Bryant" sized, but it also is good to know how other people are perceiving you if you're going to gain real confidence. I denied being "curvy" for way too long and hated fatter people because I didn't want to see that in myself. Right. You don't have to care. Neither does the Brazilian representative of all Latino/Latina people above. I made a post. If you don't care, why comment? I have on a handful of occasions where it was obvious that was who was speaking. Each time I was correct. However, sometimes I have guessed gender wrong because usually misogyny is perpetuated by men, and misandry by women.

Wow. I'm shocked by this response. If this conversation had been in person I wouldn't have been as harsh/sarcastic, but still would have pointed out what offended me. Duuuude I lived in NYC and it's great to find bikers! And since the Greenway nearly covers all of Manhattan it's very safe too :) and what about running clubs? Tons of those. NYC is a bit overwhelming when it comes to meeting people, I understand, I became a shut in, but the key is joining groups with similar interests. My favorite was the Polyglot meetup since people literally were there just to chat, get to know people, and practice different languages. There were also lots of attractive peopl…

You'll probably have more luck with the outdoorsy stuff, but maybe having that extra activity will help relax you enough to start enjoying your nights out. Try to figure out another activity/meetup that's closer to your town though. It helps to meet people closer because driving an hour to see a guy you're just starting to date usually is more of an inconvenience and might deter some women. That's why Tinder is popular, you can pick how far you're willing to travel XD

Uh, idk then. How do you plan to meet girls if you aren't using dating apps and you aren't very outgoing? Have you tried going to meet ups? What about networking events from eventbrite? And starting new hobbies? If you don't have an online social presence and aren't using dating apps (the quickest, easiest way to improve dating circle, as well as expand your chances of meeting hotter women), you need to actually improve your REAL life social circle in order to meet new people.

You said you're relatively attractive, which means someone finds you handsome because you aren't straight up ugly. And for me it is if the person also doesn't have some other form of social media (even having LinkedIn in is fine). But you do need Facebook to make a Tinder or Coffee Meets Bagel profile
/r/seduction06/07/16 04:55 PM

It's useful for Tinder. I think Tinder is a way better/more expedient way to improving your dating life. If you're handsome and not completely weird you'll AT LEAST get laid :) Also, Coffee Meets Bagel is a better version for "serious dating", but it also relies on Facebook and mutual friend connections. Get a Facebook just for dating apps. Having one isn't necessary, but for me if a guy doesn't have Facebook or at least LinkedIn, it weirds me out a bit. This is just because I can't get a feel o…

I liked everything you said except your new opener. It sounds like you might be a pickup artist (which is cringey and unattractive to most women), or might just trigger the flight response in anyone that is reminded of creeps like this: https://youtu.be/Gv9tQ7cfzQs Direct is usually better, and neutral (like asking directions) is usually safe and non-threatening. I think it's silly to categorize. If a girl likes you, and you find her attractive enough to fuck without feeling shame, do what feels good/right. As long as you're safe and don't knock anyone up by mistake, you won't have regrets. Obviously if it's just fun and you don't want to date her, let her know you aren't looking for anything serious.

This is a very interesting and truthful point about social media. It's very biased toward any liberal-leaning perspective. However, every other "risk" you pointed out is pretty much ridiculous. Most guys don't face those risks in their average daily lives if they are only participating in consensual sex, aren't harassing women, and aren't misogynists themselves.

The attitude portrayed in his form of communication makes it seem unchangeable. Perhaps he needs to choose his words better because that is the connotation that I, as well as others here picked up on. The circumstances can happen to anyone so to just judge them as permanent and a reason to be repelled would be silly. HE is the one making them sound permanent, not me

That's not the point. People aren't born "good at sex", and people don't magically get good jobs unless they're rich. It requires networking and getting off the couch. I'm in the same boat and hustling, have depression and other issues, but I sure as heck know I'd be single and alone if I didn't work on myself as hard as I have been because I'd be miserable to be around. Perhaps this man is suffering from depression. Maybe his first step, before getting a job or thinking about women, is working …

Tired and bored is very different than suffering from depression. That being said, exercise does help improve depression, but it doesn't cure it. I've always been very active and though it improves my outlook, my depression is still there. There are weeks where I just don't want to meet people.
