Yeah we’re in agreement on most of this, it’s mainly the broad brush generalization about generational tendencies. Gender roles were always more rigidly defined in previous generations and didn’t really start flexing until the 1920s or so, and even then nowhere near as drastically as the 1990s-2020s. The ggs said the boomers were femme, they said that gen x was soft, millennials were “metro” or whatever, then gen z is effeminate, and then gen alpha is girly, fuckin Harald Finehair said his sons had too much of their mother in them; the truth is everyone is more emotionally expressive when they’re younger until life makes you a jaded old fuck and then you resent youthful passion. That's fucking cold. I've had stretches like OP, get my shit together, hit the gym, eat right, meditate; can't seem to make it stick for more than a few months, but what he's describing is pretty much how it goes - Surge of confidence fueled by an uptick in female attention, generally feeling good about yourself. Now if he can figure out how not to backslide after things are good for a while and he starts getting complacent, that's something I'd want to read.

It's more expensive to use actors and writers. Some of the situations seem staged because they have to be excessively produced, or because the 'talent' is unfamiliar with being on camera and needs to be coached.
